Vee is so glad she decided to ask Masha, Sam, and Sammy to Grom.

Vee may not go to the Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, but both her siblings and half her friends do so it's no surprise that she'd end up going to the school's highly anticipated yearly event: Grom.
And as a bonus, Luz + Eda = Vee can bring whoever she wants to Grom, whether or not they go to Hexside.
And Vee wants to bring her friends, specifically, her first ever friends from Reality Check Camp: Cabin 7.
Cabin 7 had four people in it:
Masha, who hadn't yet figured out they were non-binary. (Vee is so incredibly proud of them, not being accepted for who you are has always been one of Vee's biggest fears, and yet Masha has never once seemed scared.)
Sam, who hadn't talked to anyone outside of family before camp. (Vee wasn't surprised at all that he picked up skateboarding, aside from the fact that Sam had hated every physical activity during camp.)
Sammy, who hadn't known how to deal with the anger from being ostracized because of Sammy's Identity. (Sammy was so much more confident when they re-met it was inspiring, Sammy was not the first one to try to help Vee be more assertive but Sammy was the first to partly succeed,)
And Luz, who hadn't even been in the human realm during camp. (This would be the first of many times where Vee would cover for Luz, it wasn't the camp that helped all of them, it was meeting each other.)
Unfortunately, Vee mostly lost contact with her friends after camp, and after Luz returned she completely lost contact.
Having a new group of friends that had never been to the human realm before and were all desperately trying to get home kept Vee busy enough that the thought of trying to reconnect with her first friends didn't cross her mind.
Reconnecting with them hadn't crossed Vee's mind, but they had, they had a lot in fact, and it hurt.
It hurt every time Vee thought of how excited Masha would be to learn about the magic that was now abundant in the Noceda home.
It hurt every time Vee missed Sam's quiet presence in the chaos that living with six other people brought about.
It hurt every time Vee prepared for Sammy to shout something extreme when playing cards only to hear something from the demon realm's slang instead.
It hurt when Vee didn't know how something worked and her cabinmates weren't there to try to explain it to her.
And when Vee re-encountered Masha and she saw the picture of her friends that didn't include her, her heart ached in a way she hadn't felt before.
But, after everything calmed down she was finally able to tell her first friends the truth and reignite their friendship.
And it was wonderful, being accepted as Vee, and with a phone Vee was able to talk to her cabinmates whenever she wanted!!!
Which was a lot of the time actually, occasionally it felt like all the time and Vee noticed some odd looks from Camila and Stringbean that she didn't quite know how to decipher.
(When she asked Camila she just gave her a smile, patted her head and told Vee to not worry about it, that it's not anything bad, Vee hasn't yet figured out what those looks were for but they haven't stopped.)
But Vee didn't only text them, they also hung out a lot, and when Vee finally got enrolled in Gravefield Highschool they only spent more time together.
And eventually they even started visiting the Boiling Isles occasionally.
It was.... tough. for Vee to be back. She didn't exactly have any good memories of the place, but with all her friends (Masha, Sam, Sammy, Luz, Willow, Gus, Amity, Hunter, and all her friend's Palisman.) by her side she was slowly able to start making good memories in her hatch realm, and while the Boiling Isles would probably never be Vee's home, she started to see why it was Luz's.
And that brings things back to Grom, for some reason Vee is more anxious about asking than she probably should be, she can only guess that it's because this would be the first event in the Boiling Isles that they would go to.
Vee decides the best way to ask would be to be casual about it, it's not a big deal so why make it one?
So as Cabin 7 is waiting for drinks at their favorite cafe Vee says. "Hey, so have you three heard anything about Grom?"
Sam raises an eyebrow. "grom? is that, like, demon prom?"
"Basically." Vee confirms.
"So what's the twist?" Sammy asks.
"Oh! Let me guess!" Masha excitedly says. "The prom monarch, or probably grom monarch, is a blood sacrifice that gets all dolled up before getting thrown at some kind of beast?!"
Vee chuckles. "Well you're not entirely correct but you are uncomfortably close"
"Yes!!!" Masha exclaims.
The server arrives with the group's drinks and Vee takes a big sip of her boba before explaining.
(Vee's probably being a lot more truthful than most when she says that her lizard brain likes boba.)
"So the twist with Grom is that the Grom monarch is chosen to fight against Grometheus the Fear Bringer, that's why it's called Grom, but there will no longer be a fight as Luz and Amity seem to have defeated Grometheus for good."
Vee quickly adds before anyone asks. "If you want to know how, I'm sure Luz would be more than happy to explain to you."
Masha immediately grabs their phone and starts typing and Sammy rolls Sammy's eyes at them.
Vee giggles at them before getting to the point. "So Grom is this time next week and Luz told me that if I want to go I can and I can take whoever I want, and so I wanted to ask if you three wanted to go with me?"
Sammy looks at Vee with wide eyes. "Damn girl! That was smooth!! People usually do this kinda thing with a bouquet of flowers but I can't really complain!"
Vee blushes. Hard. And stammers to explain herself. "W-W-W-WHAT?! I-I D-DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT!?!?"
Masha chuckles. "Don't worry Vee, we know what you mean, and I'd love to go! You know I'll never say no to doing something new on the Boiling Isles."
Sam nods his head. "yeah sure! i'll probably have to do some clothes shopping..."
Sammy hits Sam's shoulder. "You mean WE have to go clothes shopping!"
Vee smiles, that wasn't so hard now was it?

Vee and Luz are currently standing outside the portal door house, waiting, It's getting close to the time for Grom and Vee is getting nervous again, currently she's worried if she's underdressed, she's in her human form as they're currently outside, wearing a strapless yellow dress with a belt around her waist and a full skirt, a bright blue necklace, and white leggings with brown flats.
Luz startles Vee by tapping her on the shoulder and pointing behind them, where Hunter is coming from. "Hermana I don't think you need to worry about your outfit."
Vee turns around to see what Luz means an-
Oh.
Wow.
Being underdressed is now the furthest thing from Vee's mind as she looks at the... Outfit that Hunter is wearing.
Hunter waves at them with a smile as he approaches. "Hey! Luz! Vee! You two look great!"
"Thanks? You do too hermano.." Vee says hesitantly.
Hunter doesn't seem to notice his sibling's judgment and responds by proudly puffing out his chest. "Thanks! I worked hard on it!"
"We can tell hermano, I'm glad you're happy with it." Luz replies.
Vee's phone then dings in her pocket, she pulls it out and sees a message from the Cabin 7 group chat.
Marsh: Me and Sammy have almost arrived, what about you too?
Sand gave this a thumbs up
sun is typing...
Sam finishes typing before Vee does.
Marsh: Me and Sammy have almost arrived, what about you too?
Sand gave this a thumbs up
sun: same
Tree: Me, Luz, and Hunter are all here. Once you three are here we're ready to go!:3
Vee puts her phone away and looks at Luz and Hunter. "They should be here soon."
"Okay, how are you feeling Vee?" Hunter asks.
"I'm doing ok I guess?? I'm just. Nervous?" Vee answers.
"Well you have nothing to worry about!" Luz assures. "Thanks to me and Amity there's no more worries of fighting your worst fear!" Luz says proudly.
Luz then starts blushing and starts to look sheepish. "Oh yeah... So um.. remember how Amity was really scared of being rejected? By her crush? The one she wanted to take to Grom?"
Vee raises an eyebrow. "Yeah?" Is this going where she thinks it is?
Luz looks at the ground. "Well um. When me and Amity were telling Masha about how we defeated Grom I uh.. finally figured out who it was Amity wanted to ask????"
Vee struggles to not laugh. It did actually go there.
Hunter doesn't even try and bursts out laughing. "YOU DIDN'T KNOW!? LUZ IT'S BEEN YEARS!!"
Luz looks so embarrassed. "CAN WE TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE!!!"
"sure. something else."
Vee turns around. "SAM!!!"
Sam is wearing a teal long sleeve turtleneck that's been obviously hand-cropped, some black dress pants, and black dress shoes, this is the most dressed up Vee's ever seen him and it's both a little strange and very nice.
Sam waves as he gets close "hey vee." He looks her up and down. "you look pretty."
Vee feels her cheeks warm-up. "Aww Sam..! Thank you! I think you look amazing as well!"
Sam smiles and looks over at Hunter's outfit and simply nods. "I respect it."
Hunter smiles in response.
"Hope we aren't late."
"If we are blame Masha."
"You're just in time Masha and Sammy!" Vee looks down the path again and-
Oh. wow.
Masha has black eyeliner, red lipstick, and glittery eyeshadow, a white sleeveless crop top underneath a sheer black crop top with long bell sleeves and white bats all over it, a black glittery skirt and black fishnets, and black heels that make Vee wonder if they're planning on dancing in those.
That alone would have been enough to set Vee face aflame but then Sammy-
Sammy has Sammy's usual black half rim glasses, black eyeliner and black lipstick and is wearing a full on suit holy shit-
"Vee? You're um. Staring." Sammy deadpans.
Masha gasps. "Damn! Apparently I'm such a good witch I can cast spells without even trying!"
Masha chuckles. "Anyway, you look amazing Vee~"
Sammy agrees. "Yeah! I may be stunning but you look wonderful!!"
Vee's brain isn't quite ready for taking yet but thankfully her siblings are able to help and Hunter chimes in. "Yep, I actually made her dress and she shapeshifted the leggings and shoes, meaning once we're in the Boiling Isles she'll be able to be in her basilisk form and still be dressed up!"
"Ooooh that's cool!" Masha says.
Vee's finally able to talk. "Masha, Sammy, you two really d-do look amazing."
Sammy smirks, "Of course I do! Glad to know you agree Vee!"
Masha smiles wide, their adorable tooth gap visible. "Thanks Vee!! Means a lot to hear you say that!!"
Vee slowly calms down as she speaks. "So. Uh. We'll be going to the Boiling Isles, Sammy, if you get overwhelmed my phone will be in one of my pockets and on vibrate, don't be afraid to contact me."
Sammy nods. "Yep."
Sam smiles. "you've learned that you don't need to tell me and masha that."
Vee sighs. "Yeah, nothing phases you two. I've learned."

Vee is so glad she decided to ask Masha, Sam, and Sammy to Grom.
It's getting near the end of Grom night, and Vee tells Gus that she's going to take a break, she slithers over to a wall and rests on the floor with her tail against the wall.
Tonight has been a lot, it's been incredible seeing all her friends having fun and Vee herself has been having a better time than she thought possible.
Though currently her mind keeps going back to when she danced with her cabinmates,
Vee had originally been worried that Masha wasn't going to dance because of their heels but they surprised Vee by dragging her to the dance floor, Sam and Sammy followed and paired off together.
Dancing with Masha was exactly the same as every other way of spending time with them, it's magical, you always feel like you've learned a lot, there's never a dull moment, and after you head your separate ways it feels like the time you spent together might have been just a dream.
"Hey, you doing alright Vee?"
Vee opens an eye and sees Masha standing in front of her. "Yep, I'm just resting."
Masha smiles. "Nice." they tilt their head. "Mind if I join?"
"Be my guest." Vee answers.
Masha sits next to Vee, leaning on her shoulder. "Thanks girl."
Vee blushes and closes her eye again as her mind continues to wander, this time to Sam.
After Masha, Vee and Sam danced next. Masha moving over to dance with Sammy.
Dancing with Sam was relaxing, it wasn't a slow song that was on but that's just how everything with Sam is, it feels like time spent together will never end, he's a constant grounding force, preventing you from getting too stuck in your own head, and he makes just existing more enjoyable by being there.
"hey, got room for another?"
Vee opens an eye and sees Sam standing in front of her. "Always."
"Of course!" Masha confirms.
Sam drops all his weight into Vee's side. "cool."
Vee blushes more and closes her eye again as her mind continues to wander, this time to Sammy.
After Sam, Vee and Sammy danced next. When they switched dance partners Masha and Sam gave each other a Look™. Vee was confused but soon learned what it was about.
Sammy can't dance. At all.
(Attempted) Dancing with Sammy was chaos, Sammy's not really coordinated, but in true Sammy fashion instead of being annoying it was just fun, you constantly laugh, be it from Sammy's actions or words, and sure, your shoulders might hurt later but it's just Sammy's way of being affectionate.
"Damn, you've got a party going on without me!!!"
Vee opens an eye and sees Sammy standing in front of her. "You're invited!"
Masha smirks. "Yeah no one said you couldn't join."
Sam simply gestured for Sammy to come over.
"Well if you insist..." Sammy sits in front of Vee and hugs her from the front.
Vee blushes even more and tries to close her eye again as her mind continues to wander.
Vee feels a little sad when she thinks about today ending, she wishes that today could last forever...
Masha, Sam, and Sammy all shuffle around a bit to get more comfortable and this ends up with all of them leaning into Vee even more.
Vee's blushing furiously but she slowly moves her tail to sort of hug Sam and Masha, and she uses her arms to hug Sammy.
Vee's heart is pounding like it never has before and Vee just can't figure out why, why has she been blushing so much today, why does she want this moment to last forever, why can she not stop thinking about her cabinmates, WHY?
Vee opens her eyes, looking for something to distract her from her thoughts, and her eyes land on Luz and Amity, dancing together to a slow song.
They look so... Happy, so blissful, so in love.
And it's when Vee is surrounded by her cabinmates, watching Luz and Amity dance that she realizes.
The reason her heart is pounding, the reason she's been blushing so much, the reason she wants this moment to last forever, the reason she can't stop thinking about Sam, Masha, and Sammy.
It's because she's in love.
For a moment Vee's brain doesn't even consider fear, and she says out loud "Hey Sammy, Masha, Sam, do you three want to make this an actual date."
"I'd love nothing more!" "Huh!? Yes!!" "definitely!"
And then what she just said hits her and she stops hugging Sammy and removes her tail from around Sam and Masha, and holds the end of her tail in her hands. Scared.
And then what the others said hits her and her eyes go wide. "W-Wait, you all said yes!?!? A-are you sure!?" The others all straighten up somewhat.
Sam speaks up first. "yeah vee, i'm sure, i didn't realize it until you said something just now but i've liked you three for a while now, i would be happy to figure out some relationship between the four of us!"
Sammy speaks next. "Vee when I made that joke about you asking us out and you said you didn't mean it that way, I had to try to figure out why I was disappointed, that's when I realized I have crushes on you three, I'm absolutely sure."
Masha speaks last. "I first had a crush on you Vee when we thought you were Luz, and I gained my crushes on Sam and Sammy when Luz wasn't talking with us because it wasn't her that went to camp, you three have always chosen me in the end so I will always choose you three, Of course I said yes."
Vee feels. so full of emotion. She touches her face, it's wet. "Ah shoot I'm crying..! I'm sorry I'm really happy right now! It's just a lot..! I don't know what to do..!"
Masha stands up, stretches their back, and sits back down. "Well first we'll stay here while you you get all your tears out, then how about we take some photos to commemorate our first date and then we talk about relationship rules?"
Vee smiles through her tears. "I like that idea."
The new polycule took two pictures and each person got one copy of each, the first picture? All four of them smiling together, basking in the joy of their new relationship. The second picture? Vee in the middle in shock as Sam, Sammy, and Masha all kiss Vee as soon as the photo is taken.
