Chapter Text
7 / August / 1983
Laughs filled the diner as Michael and his friends shoved Gareth's head into Fredbear's metal jaws. Children gathered around the golden colored bear giggling and pointing at Gareth. Gareth thrashed and screamed his crying drowned out by the laughs directed at him, Suddenly.
CRUNCH
The laughs were suddenly replaced by the screams of scared children and the yelling of panicked parents. Michael stood frozen in shock, unable to move as his “friends” fled the scene. Crimson blood dripped from Fredbears' now shut mouth. Michael felt so small at that moment. What did he just do. . .

The hospital was quiet, too quiet. It smelled of bleach and other cleaning supplies, the walls were white and plain. William and Michael had already been sitting there for so long, every hour that passed more people entered the operation room, each one more panicked than the last.
William refused to look at Michael, The dumbass made the horrible decision of putting his brother's head into an animatronic mouth. The only thing on William's mind was the medical bills, also the ruined reputation of the restaurant he worked so hard to build.
Micheal sat beside his father shaking like a leaf. Tears threatened to fall from his icy blue eyes. Michael didn't like his brother but he didn't mean to go that far. He killed his 7 year old brother, he is a monster.
—------------------------------------------
Almost an hour later a doctor came out of the room, his face was grim. “Sorry Mr Afton, Gareth didn't make it.” The doctor spoke softly, his voice careful like he had said those words many times before.
As Michael took in that information tears started to fall, William on the other hand wasn't surprised. Even though William didn't care about Gareth an anger towards Michael still boiled up in his gut. He ruined William's business.
—-------------------------------------------
William dragged Michael back to the car holding his wrist surprisingly gentle despite his anger. William got into the car glancing back watching his son sink into the backseat face filled with shame and regret. A few minutes into the car ride Michael's weeping died down to just quiet pathetic whines.
