Chapter Text
Tisha and Shelly were both busy today, doing what every toon in Gardenview did to pass the time in isolation from the outside world. Tisha was going on a cleaning spree, going through most of the toon rooms ( except a few for obvious reasons ), the main rooms, the toilets, (Eugh..) and then the kitchen before going for round two in that order. She wanted for everything to be spotless for the others, and in order to do that, she had to clean more than once. It was a rule of thumb for her. While Shelly was re-cleaning her special floor again, since she didn’t want to be a bother to the tissue box, knowing she was on that cleaning spree.
After almost finishing most of her respective floor, the ammonite got an idea, a surprise to show her best friend, a way to show how much she cared about all Tisha would do for her and the other toons. A sleepover for just the two of them, jam packed with dinosaur documentaries, soft blankets and cuddling! Wait—cuddling? That’s weird! Don’t couples do that? And with your best friend—HOLD ON! Shelly brushed that weird thought away, what was up with her?
She got to work, arranging the place to her liking instead of her original plan earlier. She went to a closet that was right near one of the projectors with the beanbags in one of the rooms, and started arranging them for more space. She then realized she didn’t have any candles on her, so she decided to ascend up the floors of the underground research center to go find some lying around. She ushered to the elevator of the center and clicked the button that said “ TOON ROOMS - 1 “ in black-serifed letters, and up she went. After a short period of time, the elevator chimed and opened the door for her. Shelly walked through the crates and onto the soft carpet, only to be met eye to eye with her best friend.
“Good Afternoon, Shelly.. “ the tissue box tiredly chimed, not making eye contact with the ammonite as she continued to sweep most of the crumbs off of the pink table with her feather duster.
“ Heya, Tisha! “ the ammonite responded, gleaming at her best buddy. She noticed how exhausted Tisha looked. “ Hey, Tish? Are you okay? “ she asked, worrying for Tishas wellbeing. “ Mhm, don’t worry about me..! “ the tissue responded, while using a spray bottle mixed with cleaning liquids on the sink, wiping it. “ Do you need anything? “ Tisha asked, trying Tisha avert the conversation elsewhere. “ Mhm! Do you know where the candles are? Last time I saw them, there were near the TV area, but I can’t quite put my finger on it…“ Shellys eyes were glancing around to see if she could find it.“ Check on top of the TV, you should see it there. “ she pointed, still cleaning, not wondering what Shelly was going to do since she was to tired to think of anything else. “ Great! Thanks! “
And thus, the ammonite quickly went to the TV, speed-walking through the surprisingly quiet halls, a sense of worry still lingering in the ammonites heart. She got the cream unlit wax candles, and the matchbox right next to them. Usually, none of the toons were allowed to use fire, since Sprout ruined it for all of them, but since not that many people notice her presence, it didn’t matter. All she wanted to do, was spend time with her greatest friend in the whole wide world. She quickly went to the elevator, and as soon as she got onto that floor, she quickly tried to finish. She was the only one who knew that the last place she usually cleans before finishing is the kitchen, so she has to act quick. She added the wax candles near the entrance, around the room they were going to watch documentaries in, and around the sandbox too! She dusted off her paws and looked around in pride, the place was finished! Or.. was it? Something was missing, and Shelly couldn’t quite put her paw on it. She walked through everything and started to check off things in her imaginary checklist. She had the blankets, the matching onesies they were going to wear, the cassettes packed with the documentaries they were going to watch, so what was missing? Her eyes darted around the room while she was walking and she locked eyes with her old gramophone.
It used to be Shannon’s, but she hadn’t used it in a while, and it wouldn’t hurt to use it in a special occasion such as this, right? She got the vinyls from underneath the old track player and set them to the side, carrying the gramophone to the entrance of the projector room. As she finally felt as if the surprise sleepover was complete, she lit the matches from the matchbox and started to light every candle in the room, before dimming the yellow lights until only the lanterns and lamps were seen. She was finally ready.
She put on a red dinosaur onesie , similar to a Tyrannosaurus rex, and ascended upwards using the elevator , to look for Tisha, and so that she could have a great time. Only question is, is she going to like it?
