[03:49 am]
The apartment was silent, except for the humming of the refrigerator. Levi had a few rough nights of barely closing an eye, so it was no surprise he fell asleep reading a book you recommended while you were writing a paper for your university on his laptop. After making sure his breaths slowed down, you relocated in the kitchen to let him have his peace. You promised yourself that you'd stay at most two more hours, but already five passed and you were not any closer to finishing your task.
"What the fuck are you doing?" were the words that broke the serenity of the night.
By the way Levi phrased it and his disgusted face, you knew he saw it.
"I took a five-minute break from writing the paper I told you about..." you tried. It wasn't a lie, though. But it was...
"Oh, yeah. The famous five hours into your five-minute break. Go to sleep," he commanded with a firm voice. Both of you knew there was no way you'd end up on this side of YouTube after an actual small break.
"But..."
"But what? Is your paper on the topic of how to deep clean cows' hooves?"
It wasn't. You didn't have an excuse to come up with. So, you reluctantly followed him, feeling guilty about not finishing what you planned to. But, you still had the hope of putting an alarm extra early in the morning, lying to yourself that you'd wake up to study.
You woke up in the morning, after a few snoozed alarms that fortunately didn't wake Levi up, because he already left the bed. You pouted, deprived of Levi's morning cuddles, so you went to search for him. The apartment wasn't big and the only place except your bed and the bathroom were he could be was the kitchen.
Coming from behind, you planned a sneaky attack of hugs on him, but stopped as you saw what he was watching on his phone.
"What the fuck are you doing?" you repeated his words from the night before, with a grin on your face, trying to contend your giggles.
You knew he was embarrassed as his ears turned red before you could see his face.
"I'm waiting for the toast to cook," he answered after cleaning his throat.
You took the piece of bread from the toaster and bit on it.
"It's not even warm anymore," you commented as you opened the refrigerator, searching for cheese.
Levi sighed and closed his phone. In his defance, you watched the videos from his laptop, on his account.
"They just popped out on my recommendations," he tried to clean his name.
"At least I was watching them on speed two."
Levi was still bright red as you laughed so hard, you nearly choked.
After that, you never caught Levi watching cows getting their hooves cleaned again. However, you spend a few hours of quality time watching together as bernese dogs were getting their fur groomed.
