Rays of sunlight passed through the small cracks in the window blinds, lighting up the previously dark room. The strings of light rested on Arthur's slumbering face and Francis' bare body. Francis shifted in his sleep and the light hit him directly into his eyes. He squinted and slightly groaned. Once he finally opened his eyes to read the time, his gaze instantly turned to face Arthur instead, who was still deep in his dreamland. God... he looked adorable. Francis brushed his hair away, gaining access to his whole face. Arthur looked so peaceful when asleep. He couldn't help but smile. If possible, he would be staring at him for hours without end.
Francis wrapped his arm around Arthur's waist, pulling his body flush against his. He tangled their legs together as he buried his face in the crook of his neck. Small kisses were planted on his sensitive skin as he took in the scent of his husband. It was musky, and he smelled like sweat, probably because of last night. Francis liked it this way. If he was doing this when both of them were awake, Arthur would probably push him away or call him too clingy. This way was perfect and calming. The gentle touches made Arthur stir slightly in his sleep. This didn't stop Francis from continuing to attack his neck with feather-light kisses.
"Stop it." Arthur groaned and tried to push Francis away.
"Morning my love." Francis kissed his cheek tenderly.
"Yea whatever." The Brit grumbled, still sounding half asleep.
"Why are you so grumpy all the time?" Francis whined and wrapped his arms around his husband's waist as he was getting out of bed.
"Let me go, I need to get ready." Arthur finally escaped his tight grasp and headed towards the bathroom. Francis lazily fell back onto the mattress.
Moments like this were the things he appreciated the most.
