Work Text:
Kate let out a long-suffering sigh, her gaze darting to the horses outside as she muttered (more to herself than to Anthony who sat opposite to her): “If I rode myself, I'd be there twice as fast ..."
Anthony only grinned, his hand settling with deliberate weight on her knee as he drawled: “Perhaps, my love ... but there are certain advantages to riding in a carriage that I am most unwilling to forgo.”
Kate's eyes wandered from his hand on her knee to his face and the ambiguous look there; she smiled slyly and leant back in her seat, parting her legs ever so slightly in an inviting manner ("Well then, my dear ... go ahead and make me wish the ride was longer").
