Chapter 1: Sleepover

Chapter Text

Maisy stood with Octavia outside as they waited for the I.M.P. van to arrive. They heard about Stolas' abduction on the news. After Stolas was bandaged up at the St. Ann's Hospital, he texted Octavia about what had happened, and told her to let Maisy come spend some time at Blitzø's apartment. Even though the prince appreciated his daughter's help, there was no way in Hell he was going to make her a mini-parent. He also didn't want Stella looking after Maisy for obvious reasons.

Octavia was reluctant to let Maisy stay at the imp's place, but ultimately decided it was for the best after hearing Stolas' reasonings. She made sure to pack everything that Maisy needed (Stolas told her that Blitzø bought and provided the furniture). The teen was currently holding the little sheep in her arms. She played with her hoof, swinging it from side to side. She was going to miss Maisy while they were gone, but it comforted her to know that they would be safe.

The I.M.P. van soon came around the corner, causing Via's smile to drop.

“Hi, Octavia!” Blitzø said as he stepped out of the van. “How are you?”

"Fine..." Octavia grumbled.

Maisy looked at the imp and tilted their head curiously.

“Hey, Maisy,” Blitzø greeted. “I’m Blitzø, the O is silent. Stolas’… er, friend.”

"Baa ("F'en'?")?" Maisy asked. "Baa ("Mommy's f'en'?")?"

"Yeah, Stolas and I hang out from time to time."

Octavia rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"You're gonna stay with me and Loonie until your mama gets out of the hospital next week," Blitzø explained.

Maisy glanced at Octavia.

"It'll be alright. I met his daughter, Loona – she's cool," the teen reassured as she gave Maisy a hug. "I'll see you in a few days, okay?"

"Baa ("Not coming?")?" the sheep asked as their face fell.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t. I have to stay here.”

Maisy tightened their hug around Octavia as tears threatened to form. Why did they have to go somewhere new? What if Blitzø and Loona were mean like Stella?

Via rubbed the sheep's back. “I promise it’ll be okay. We can text and call everyday, starting tonight."

Via passed Maisy to Blitzø, who escorted them to the van and opened the backseat. There was a pink car seat waiting for them.

"There we go. You comfy?" he asked after buckling Maisy in and handing them Hazel and her blankie.

Maisy gave a small nod as they hugged their comfort items. Octavia came over to give her one last hug and forehead kiss.

"You'll be okay with him. Loona said he's alright," the teen reassured. "They did find me when I got lost in L.A."

"Yeah, and Stols texted me everything I needed to know," Blitzø added.

Via ignored him and placed the diaper bag and suitcase inside the vehicle. She made sure Maisy was comfortable before pulling away and shutting the van door.

Blitzø climbed into the van and drove away.

As Blitzø drove, he was feeling apprehensive about looking after Maisy. Sure, he took care of Loona, and he wanted to make up for not rescuing Stolas, but this was a perma-regressor, someone who permanently regressed younger than their big age.

“So, Maisy…” he started, hoping to make small talk. “How old are you right now?”

"Baa ("I two.")," Maisy answered.

“Wow, so you’re a big kid then?”

"Baa ("'m li'l.")."

The imp smiled. “Of course you are.”

"Baa ("Is Mommy okay?")?"

"Yeah, he’s okay," Blitzø said. "He’ll be alright. He's just not feeling well, so he's at the hospital, but the doctors there are very good people. They're gonna help him feel better."

Blitzø looked in the rear view mirror to glance at Maisy, who still seemed a little unsure.

The little sheep looked out the window, gazing at the city buildings. She clutched onto Hazel and her blankie as they thought about Stolas. Was he really gonna be okay? Who would hurt him?

"Are you hungry?" Blitzø asked. "I could get you some food on the way to my apartment."

Maisy shook their head. Stolas never really got fast food often. It wasn't because he wouldn't allow it. She liked his cooking a lot better. Nothing could compete with his cooking.

"Hmmm…" Blitzø tapped his chin. He had to do something that would entice the little lamb so she wouldn’t be scared.

"Maybe we can have some ice cream after dinner? You like ice cream?"

The sheep nodded, warming up to the idea of a frozen treat.

"Baa ("Ca' you ma' chicken an' sta' soup, too?")?" she requested.

Blitzø was glad that Loona had Door-Dashed the things that Maisy liked.

"Of course, kiddo."

The van soon arrived at the apartment building where Blitzø and Loona resided.

After climbing out of the van and unbuckling Maisy from her car seat, Blitzø texted Loona that they were home. He grabbed the baby bag with his tail.

Maisy's eyes widened in surprise. They didn't know imps could do stuff like that!

"Alright, let's get you inside. Loonie-Toonie and I got the apartment set up for you," the imp chuckled as he collected the suitcase with his hand. He then scooped Maisy up and carried her inside.
