Chapter 1: Happy Angels, Amused Demons

Chapter Text

Jungkook grins at the pout settled on those temptingly pink lips, arms tightening on the waist of the small angel, ignoring the grunt of irritation it gets him, knowing that his hold on the smaller male is only hindering their progression. He bites his lip when Jimin turns to glare at him in annoyance, tiny hands wrapped warningly around the demon’s wrists, blue eyes narrowed, “Jungkookie…”

Jungkook leans forward, pressing a kiss to those tempting, so very tempting, lips, lingering when Jimin sighs into the taller’s mouth, allowing Jungkook to do as he pleases, relishing in the way Jungkook holds him closer, tongue slipping past parted lips and stroking against the roof of Jimin’s mouth. Jungkook rumbles slightly at the whimpers of delight escaping the angel wrapped in his arms. Sweet hell, Jungkook can get lost in the feeling of the body pressing against his own, smaller hands reaching up to tangle in his hair, his own tightening their hold on the thin waist once more, before dropping lower, resting comfortably on Jimin’s amazing ass.

“I thought you were supposed to be going somewhere. Five minutes ago. Not making out loudly in the doorway of the kitchen.” Yoongi hisses, arms crossing as he glares at the pair in annoyance. Why does it always seem to be him that catches the pair like this? He’s always the on that walks in on them half naked and feeling each other up on the living room couch. In either house, really. He’s tried escaping them by invading the three angels’ house only to find out they’ve decided to “take pity on Yoongi always walking in on them”, according to an extremely apologetic and embarrassed Jimin. Well a lot of good that fucking did him.

Or them.

If anything Yoongi can be pleased that his repeated appearances seem to be bothering Jungkook as much as they bother Yoongi. If Yoongi has to keep scarring himself by witnessing Jungkook’s cock disappear into parts of Jimin than Jungkook can fucking starve for all he cares.

Jungkook glowers over Jimin’s shoulder at Yoongi, annoyed with him and the fact that Jimin has pressed his face into Jungkook’s shoulder upon realizing they weren’t alone in the house. So much for a quick bite before they left for Jimin’s class. With a roll of his eyes, Jungkook press a soft kiss on Jimin’s temple, smiling fondly at the brush of lips against the side of his neck, frowning when Jimin pulls away from him, arms tightening. He has no intention of letting Jimin go.

Leaning forward to steal another kiss, Jungkook nips on Jimin’s bottom lip before running his tongue along the stinging flesh, voice a low purr, half-lidded eyes smoldering, “Don’t you want to just stay here with me, angel?”

“Jungkookie, you promised. You…you don’t want to meet him anymore?” Jimin whispers softly, voice a little shaky from the onslaught of emotions. First Jungkook getting him all hot and bothered, then embarrassment from Yoongi and now sadness from his Jungkookie not wanting to meet his precious charge, even after promising. He looks up at Jungkook with sad blue eyes, lower lip trembling slightly in his disappointment, before lowering his gaze to the floor.

Jungkook’s eyes widen, panicking at the sorrow he can feel coming from his Half, hands quickly gathering the smaller against him, cradling his mate protectively, a desperate purr coming out to try and soothe his mate’s ache. He peppers Jimin’s face and neck in light kisses in apology for upsetting him, “No, no, angel. I do. I do want to meet your change. Of course I do. We’re leaving now, okay? Later, Yoongi.”

Yoongi watches Jungkook ushers Jimin out of the kitchen and into a coat (he thinks, and is pretty damn sure, the coat is Jungkook’s), shaking his head as he hears the younger demon continue to pile the angel with reassurance. Yoongi won’t deny that he’s more than surprised the two are compatible. He was absolutely sure that Jungkook would come to regret the idea of having an angel as his Half. Or that Jimin would regret it, if not.

Or that one of the three would kill one of the other. Honestly Yoongi, himself, is leaning towards ripping Hoseok’s wings off half the time.

…Okay, no, that’s a lie. He’d never rip his wings off. That would not only hurt, and-or murder the annoying Elemental, but it would also hurt Jimin. Which would then cause Jungkook to be vengeful. Which would absolutely suck because that little shit is the absolute worst when it comes to Jimin.

Never mind what the hell Namjoon would do if he laid a finger on Hoseok. He’d deny it, of course, but Yoongi can already see his death in the form of black eyes.

And, of course, Taehyung. As loathe as Yoongi is to admit it (which he will not to anyone other than himself) Yoongi would rather not destroy that bright spark in the angel’s extremely expressive eyes. Would rather not be the reason for the angel’s smile to loose it’s happiness.

Even if the fucking forest fairy grated on his damn nerves every single day.

-----

“I think Namjoon and Hoseok are getting along well, Jungkookie. And Tae and Yoongi. But Yoongi and Hoseok seem to be…” Jimin trails off, not sure how to phrase what he means without it coming out badly. He glances at Jungkook with a frown, wanting the other’s help.

Jungkook smiles gleefully, completely willing to throw his friend under the bus, “They definitely hate each other. Or whatever it is that angels feel in substitute of hatred. Yoongi always looks like he wants to murder Hoseok. In such colorful ways. I bet it’d be beautiful.”

“What?” Jimin gasps out, eyes wide in horror as they look at Jungkook’s way too pleased face. How can his mate think his friend murdering Hoseok would be beautiful?

Jungkook seems to understand he’s said something wrong and quickly backtracks, the hand intertwined with Jimin’s tightening when the angel tries to pull away. Jungkook dips down to steal a kiss from slightly unwilling lips before explaining himself in a rush, “Not Yoongi killing Hoseok. I was thinking of what Namjoon would do if Yoongi actually tried to hurt Hoseok. Of course I don’t want anything to happen to your friend.”

Jimin looks at Jungkook, taking in the serious plea in Jungkook’s eyes to understand the demon meant no harm to his friend, before sighing with a soft smile. Standing on his tippy toes, Jimin kisses Jungkook sweetly, only to gasp in delight when Jungkook’s arms shoot around him, pulling the angel tighter against his body and teasing his tongue along Jimin’s lips. Jimin whines softly when Jungkook bites his lip before tangling his tongue with Jimin’s, twirling them together sensually. With a reluctant whimper, Jimin pulls away from his demon, smiling at the purring rumble Jungkook is making. Gods, he loves when Jungkook makes that sound. Loves knowing when he’s making his mate happy.

Jimin presses a soft kiss to Jungkook’s shoulder before pulling away from his arms, intertwining their fingers once more as he continues to lead them to the dance studio he’s decided to teach at this time ‘round. “C’mon, Jungkookie. The kids are worriers when I get there open late. And remember, brown eyes. Don’t scare my children.”

Jungkook steadfast pushes the immediate thrill those words cause, smiling instead at Jimin’s adorably stern tone and face, the angel pouting at Jungkook in what Jungkook is sure Jimin thinks is threatening. Which, in reality, makes Jungkook want to cuddle Jimin close to him and wrap him in the wings and tsill he’s yet to actually show Jimin….yeah, okay. So maybe just cuddling the adorable “threatening” angel will be just fine. He knows that he needs to show Jimin what he truly looks like, he knows this. Hell, the angels have stopped keeping their wings withdrawn when they’re at either house. And they haven’t. Jungkook and the others have only ever let them see their eyes. Which, to be fair, classifies them…to other demons.

It’s not a surprise that Jungkook is an Incubus. The others, angels included, know he is. Granted Jungkook himself has never actually said he was. Namjoon did. But Jungkook’s not going to deny himself. He can be honest and say he needs intimacy to survive. And even if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off of Jimin. Not with a face like that. Or an ass like that. Nope. He’d never keep his hands off of his Half. Too much of a temptation in keeping them on. At all times.

“Jungkookie!” Jimin screeches, face red, when Jungkook shoves his hands into Jimin’s sweatpants without warning, leering at Jimin gleefully when Jimin bites his bottom lip to suppress a whine. He gently swats at the demon’s arms, grabbing onto them to try and extract them, heart stuttering at the pout Jungkook throws him. He stays firm though, “No, Jungkookie. The kids and their parents will be here soon. I can get into a lot of trouble if someone sees us like that, Jungkookie. You understand that, right, Jungkookie?”

Jungkook sighs, nuzzling into Jimin’s neck quietly, smiling when Jimin lifts his face with his small, fucking adorable hands, and presses a shy, soft kiss to Jungkook’s lips. Even though Jungkook loves touching and kissing and nuzzling his angel, he’ll keep his hands to himself for Jimin to be happy. Stealing another quick kiss from his Half, Jungkook pulls away, creating enough distance to not tempt himself, giving Jimin a smile, “Okay, angel. Promise to keep my hands to myself to not permanently scar or taint the little humanlings.”

“Don’t say that.” Jimin frowns, body flinching and eyebrows furrowing at the word “taint”, hating the teasing way Jungkook says it. He wraps his arms around himself subconsciously, teeth gnawing on his bottom lip, “I-I don’t like it.”

Jungkook is on him in seconds, arms wrapping around him completely, anger coursing thought his veins and eyes flashing dangerously red, the growl leaving him making Jimin shudder, “Who said it?”

Jimin shrinks into himself, not trying to escape the hold but not leaning into it either. Jungkook gets scary like this and Jimin always seems to forget that demons are personifications of violence and sin. How is he meant to remember that when he as a demon mate that purrs, quite loudly, every morning when Jimin buries his face into a naked chest whining about the sunlight being too early? Or when he’s seen Yoongi not move an inch to get a drink two feet in front of him, even though he’s complained of being thirsty at least four times, only to rush into the laundry room when Taehyung screeches about something crawling? Or when he’s heard Namjoon, the clumsiest demon Jimin has ever met, apologize profusely for knocking over all of Hoseok’s plant nursey?

Or when Jungkook tells him every night Jimin means the world to him?

“Jimin.” Jungkook growls, voice sharp with intent, careful not to crush the small angel in his rage. How dare someone say something to his Half that even remotely insinuates Jimin is anything less than perfectly angelic?! “Tell me, angel. Now.”

Jimin whimpers at the aggression in his mate’s voice, a desperate whine leaving him as he surges forwards, wrapping his arms around Jungkook and shoving his face into the crook of Jungkook’s neck where his scent is strongest, “O-One of the other angels near us. W-When you guys were gone a-a few nights back. But it’s okay, Jungkookie! I-I’m not upset! A-And, Tae got them to be silent! Please, Jungkookie, please. It’s okay.”

Jungkook presses into Jimin’s neck, breathing in his Half’s scent to calm himself enough to speak without the telling growl, arms secure around his mate’s waist. Leaning away with a sigh, Jungkook brushes hair away from Jimin’s wide, worried eyes, placing a light kiss on Jimin’s forehead before pressing lips firmly onto Jimin’s, detaching with another sigh, nosing against Jimin’s neck once more, “Okay.”

Jungkook hears Jimin breathe a sigh of relief, feels Jimin’s tense muscles relaxing against his own, the angel nuzzling back into Jungkook briefly. Jungkook watches him pull away to greet the children coming into the dance studio, glancing back to see his own red eyes narrowed into a dangerous glare reflecting back at him, “Okay.”

-----

“So, you’re Jimin-hyung’s…husband?”

Jungkook quirks his lips, eyes flicking over to where he can see Jimin turning red, an amused glint filling his eyes before they look back at the young boy staring at him curiously. He hesitates slightly before ruffling his hair, grinning broadly, “Yeah. I’m your Jimin-hyung’s husband. And you’re Youngbae. Jimin’s told me a lot about you. My name is Jungkook.”

“Jimin-hyung is my favorite. When he became our dance teacher umma and appa were happy.” Youngbae grins, two of his teeth missing. The child looks back at Jimin before looking at Jungkook seriously, eyebrows furrowing a bit, “You have to be extra nice to Jimin-hyung, Jungkook-hyung. Okay? He’s the best and you have to promise to be the best, too. Okay?”

Jungkook smiles, less teasing now and more genuine, eyes once more looking over at Jimin, softening when he sees that Jimin has left him to get acquainted with his charge, choosing instead to help another child with a particular dance move Jungkook can recognize from their recent choreography. Looking once more at Youngbae, Jungkook leans forward, as if to tell a secret, grinning when Youngbae leans in as well, eyes wide. Throwing an obvious secretive look towards an oblivious Jimin, Jungkook loudly whispers, “I think Jimin is the best, too. I promise you, Youngbae, I will try my absolute best to make your Jimin-hyung happy. Okay?”

Youngbae stares at him before smiling widely, patting Jungkook’s leg as he nods sagely, “I believe you, Jungkook-hyung.”

Jimin smiles at Jungkook shyly when Youngbae joins the rest of the children again, knowing Jungkook knew Jimin would hear what he pledged to his charge. Jimin can say he was kind of skeptical about having Jungkook and his charge meeting, not knowing what to expect of allowing a demon to meet Youngbae. He won’t deny he was a bit uneasy. Even if the demon is his mate. He should’ve known that Jungkook would never do anything to purposely hurt Jimin, including damaging his charge in any way. And, gods, Jungkook was so cute with Youngbae just then, promising so seriously to the child in reassurance.

Jimin shakes his head to clear his thoughts, looking briefly at Jungkook before clapping to get the children’s attention, “Water break! Quickly then we’re going to run through it once more before everyone leaves, alright?”

All the kids nod enthusiastically, skipping over to their bags to chug water bottles quickly. Jimin shakes his head again. This time in fondness for them, eyes lingering slightly on Youngbae when he and another boy playfully start shoving each other.

“I like him.”

Smiling widely at the murmured word, Jimin turns to see Jungkook smiling at him, eyes lit up in glee, “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” Jungkook nods, tugging Jimin quickly to him to steal a quick kiss, grinning when Jimin gives a slight gasp, eyes flicking towards the kids hurriedly. Jungkook snickers at the look of warning in Jimin eyes, “He’s very protective of you. I like that.”

Glancing again to the otherwise occupied children, Jimin chances another kiss to the taller before pulling away from him completely, grinning at the look in Jungkook’s eyes. Shaking his head at his demon and his ridiculously tempting eyes, even when a human brown, Jimin wonders how he’s going to learn how to say no to them. He startles when Jungkook makes his way to the studio door, a frown marring his features, taking a hesitant step towards Jungkook, “Jungkookie? Are you…leaving?”

Jungkook smiles reassuringly at the hesitant question, “Yeah. I’ll see you later, okay?”

“Okay…where are you going?” Jimin wonders, to his knowledge, the other two demons were at work or going to work.

“To bother Yoongi at work.” Jungkook grins, eyes flashing red slightly. Coming back towards the smaller angel Jungkook can’t stop the press of lips, running fingers along Jimin’s neck, “Don’t worry, angel. I’ll see you later.”

“Okay.” Jimin smiles softly, watching Jungkook leave before turning back to class, “Break’s over! C’mon, guys!”

-----

Yoongi glances up when he feels Jungkook enter the bar, raising an eyebrow at the anger reflecting in the younger’s eyes. To his knowledge the Incubus had been with his Half. What the hell could’ve possibly happened to warrant this kind of response? Throwing a rag over his shoulder, Yoongi leans against the counter and placing his chin in the palm of his hand, “What’s wrong with you?”

“Has Taehyung mentioned anything about their neighbors?”

Namjoon breaks from the conversation he’s having with one of the supervisors, making his way over to the other two at the suppressed rage he can feel coming off of the younger demon, looking him over curiously. Sharing a glance with an equally curious Yoongi, he locks eyes with Jungkook, “What’s this about the angels’ neighbors?”

“Has Hoseok said anything? Has either said anything? Because apparently their fellow angels are saying Jimin is ‘tainted’. Jimin told me that Taehyung settled it but that just makes me wonder if they’ve also been attacked by their neighbors.” Jungkook growls, pleased when both older demon’s return the sound, eyes flashing from their human brown. He’s pleased that he’s not the only one angry about this. Especially since he highly doubts the angels are going to say anything to them about it.

“Which neighbors were these?” Yoongi snarls, gold eyes narrowed dangerously.

Jungkook grins, his own red eyes seeking Namjoon’s black, an excited shiver making its way through him at the obvious promise of pain reflected in two other demons.

-----

“Jiminnie!” Taehyung smiles widely when the smaller angel walks through the door, waving the other into the kitchen where he and Hoseok are sitting with mugs in front of them, “You’re just in time! Hobi says something good happened at work today!”

Jimin smiles at the pair before frowning at the feeling of being watched, glancing back out the open door, closing it quickly when he sees their neighbor looking at him harshly. Throwing his coat over the back of an armchair, Jimin makes his way over to the kitchen, thankful when Hoseok pushes a mug of hot chocolate towards him and of Taehyung grabbing his hand and intertwining their finger. Neither of them mention the angle from next door. Jimin smiles at them, “Something good happened, Hobi?”

Hoseok gives Jimin a softly smile, unfurling his left wing to gently brush against Jimin, allowing his grace to just as gently brush against Jimin’s, with Taehyung’s, in a show of reassurance. Jimin exhales shakily, letting the other two’s familiar touch calm him. It takes a few seconds more before he’s looking at them with a happier light in his eyes. Hoseok returns the smile just as brightly, “Yes! I had a young demon come in and she was so, so awkward about being there when she realized I was angel. When I asked her what she needed she was really defensive. Got really mad and said a bunch of mean things!”

“How is that good?” Taehyung mutters, sharing a bewildered look with Jimin, the smaller angel shrugging in bemusement.

“BUT! When she came to the realization I wasn’t going to respond negatively she just wandered around the shop for a few more minutes before finally demanding to know how the correct way to approach an angel was!” Hoseok practically screams with delight, the smile on his face lighting up the entire kitchen, the small window garden blooming instantly.

Taehyung and Jimin stare at each other for a second before they’re both smiling just as widely. Jimin throws his arms around Hoseok with a laugh, “That’s great, Hobi! Did she tell you the angel’s name? Did you tell her the right way? Did she tell you the type of angel they were?”

“Tell us everything!” Taehyung demands, grabbing Hoseok’s hand and tugging on it intently, eyes alight in joy, “See! I told you there wouldn’t be anything bad about opening your shop in a Neutral! “

Hoseok nods with a laugh, nuzzling into Jimin who’s still attached to him, “She was so shy! She wouldn’t tell me what the angel’s name was and she didn’t know there are more than one type of angel. I explained to her the wings and halo placement usually. I told her that depending on what she wanted and what type they are is how she needs to interact with them. She was upset I couldn’t tell her right away but said she’d come back when she could with those answers. I’m happy she decided to come ask for help!”

Taehyung nods enthusiastically in agreeance, “I hope whatever she wants from them works out! This is so exciting! Seeing more demons and angels interacting without violence is so amazing!”

Jimin nods, “It’s not too unusual to see them interacting but there’s always an underlining wave of aggression when the two meet and it’s always so tense…”

Whatever Hoseok was going to add to the conversation is cut off when a banging knock comes from their front door, the trio jumping at the noise, looking over cautiously. Taehyung frowns when he feels the other two jump at another, more insistent, knock. Leaving the pair in the kitchen, Taehyung sidles up to the door, wings bright and shimmering in the low light of the entryway. Taehyung frowns when he opens the door to reveal one of their next door neighbors, eyes setting into an electric glare, “Can I help you?”

The angel in front of him sputters, wide eyes scanning Taehyung before looking back to his own house in fear, “I-I want to apologize to the Guardian. And-and to you two, as well.”

Taehyung’s eyes narrow as they glance over the angel’s shoulder to see that the house was completely dark, none of the lights one. Which is odd to Taehyung. Most angel’s try to keep at least two lights on until they were ready to sleep. Something about being surrounded by complete darkness puts most of the angelic race on edge. Turning back to the angel Taehyung can now see the slight trembles of the terrified the angel, “What happened to you? Why are your lights out?”

“Power outage. Minhyuk turned too many things on at one time again. Worst time ever, really. What with it being night time now, right? Is the Guardian available?”

Taehyung continues to frown at him, but he can’t say anything against it. Angels can’t lie outright so he’s going to have to take his word for it. Turning to call over his shoulder, “Jiminnie! Can you come here for a minute?”

In the kitchen Hoseok and Jimin glance at each other before making their way to the entryway, Jimin tensing slightly at the angel on their porch. Standing by Taehyung’s side, Jimin regards the other guardedly, “Yes?”

“I-I want to apologize to the-the three of you. I shouldn’t have called you tainted or-or belittled you for your…mate. Please accept my apology.” The angel focuses on Jimin, the teal of his eyes alight in residual fear. The look sends shivers down Jimin’s spine.

“I-”

“Why are you suddenly apologizing?” Taehyung’s voice is sharp when he steps closer to the door, hand resting on the wood, eyes training on one of the angels who have been nothing but rude for the past few months. To all three of them. About the “company they keep”. Taehyung doesn’t like his sudden need for forgiveness.

“W-We were talking about it after the Guardian got home and came to the decision that it’s his choice if he wants to…have a demon for his bondmate. We-we have no right to judge him.” Teal eyes fall to the ground, unable to stare into electric orange staring him down.

Taehyung gets that feeling he usually gets when a human or demon lies to him but angels can’t lie. And it’s pulling at Taehyung’s senses to try to figure out what in the spirits it could be tainting the angel’s voice. He looks at Hoseok and Jimin in curiosity, reaching out to them with his grace, trying to try to figure out what it is they’re feeling.

Jimin smiles hesitantly at Taehyung, blue eyes looking passed them and towards the house next to them, eyebrows furrowing at the darkness surrounding it. “Why are your lights out?”

Teal eyes flicker over to the house with a shudder, “Power outage. Again, I’m sorry. Do-Do you forgive me?”

Jimin frowns at him and the way he words himself, something off about it, but Jimin is a naturally forgiving angel, willing to believe the angel sincere in his apology, flashing him a smile, “Of course. I-I accept your apology. Th-Thank you for apologizing. I’ll tell Jungkookie. He’ll be pleased.”

Taehyung catches the barely visible tensing of their neighbor at the mention of the demon, realization dawning. Taehyung’s eyes flick over to the house once more, staring on at the house in concentration, not truly surprised when he thinks he sees a flash of gold and red. He knows it’s not right of him to think it but he’s a bit glad the demons are able to put the other angels in their places.

Hoseok grins at Jimin, proud of the younger angel for his immediate acceptance, regardless of the fact that this angel doesn’t deserve it, nor any of his friends. Hoseok nods at the angel when teal eyes flick to his own green, “As long as you don’t say stuff like that anymore.”

“No. As long as you never speak to us, speak about us or even look over here anymore. You’ll be continuously forgiven if you agree to do that.” Taehyung states, eyes going back over to the angel on their porch. “You can leave now. I’m sure you’d rather be home. Have a good night.”

The angel quickly leaves their house and Taehyung ignores the looks he’s getting from the other two angels, waiting until the stranger is off their lawn to close the door. He smiles at the twin frowns being thrown his way, shrugging when they just continue to stare at him, “What? You guys didn’t like him anyway.”

“But you didn’t have to be so mean to him, Tae…” Jimin frowns, he can’t deny his nestmate’s statement, Jimin doesn’t exactly like their neighbors. More so since they’ve taken to calling him tainted, among other things. Things Jimin doesn’t want to think about. Jimin brings a hand to his choker, slipping his fingers under the metal circling his neck.

Taehyung wraps an arm around Jimin, resting his cheek on his nestmate’s shoulder, pushing comfort through their open grace, smiling when Hoseok softly brushes his fingers along Jimin’s halo, “Ignore them, Jiminnie. They’re always talking nonsense and never, ever have their jumps properly concealed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to personally-”

“Taehyung!” Hoseok hisses when Jimin gives a wide eyed gasp, “You’re not allowed to tell anyone about other jumps! You’ll get in trouble!”

“Okay, okay! Promise. I’ll keep my lips zips!” Taehyung giggles, pulling Jimin even closer and ignoring the distressed whine it pulls from his nestmate as the smaller angel tries to wiggle free. He presses his face into Jimin’s shoulder, deciding the brief flash of color coming from the darkened house next to their own can be kept for himself. Who is he to deny Jungkook his role as Jimin’s protector?

-----

“Taehyung saw us.”

Jungkook shrugs Yoongi’s words off, the elder demon doesn’t sound too concerned and Jungkook doesn’t really care if the angel saw them or not. Taehyung may be Jimin’s nestmate but Jungkook is Jimin’s mate. Taehyung is honestly the more sensible of the three angels, if Jungkook is being honest. Don’t get him wrong, Jungkook loves his Half with everything he is but Jimin is too forgiving and Hoseok is too caring. Taehyung is more aware of the way others aren’t always virtuous. Angels included.

“I don’t think Taehyung really cares as long as we don’t kill anyone.” Namjoon offers, the amusement in his voice making Jungkook look over at him with a raised eyebrow, the older demon’s face set into an incredulous grin.

“What the fuck are you smiling about?” Yoongi smirks, hopping over a small puddle to avoid getting his jeans wet, pulling out a pack of cigarettes and offering them to the other two, amused when Jungkook waves him off, golden eyes dancing in mirth, “What’s wrong, little one? Missus tell you to quit?”

Jungkook shoves him harshly, grinning when the smaller demon hits the chain link gate with an annoyed growl, “Do you not realize you’re smaller than me? By quite a lot, actually.”

“Listen, little bitch. Don’t-”

“Ignoring our little shit of a brother, if Taehyung asked you not to, would you deny him?” Namjoon grins at Yoongi as the other demon straightens his jacket back out.

“Shut the fuck up.” Yoongi grumbles, ignoring the two amused demons in favor of taking a long drag from his now lit cigarette.

Namjoon shrugs, blowing out a breath of smoke, angling it upwards and away from the smaller demon to his left, “I don’t blame you. I refuse to smoke anywhere near Hoseok. I have this irrational thought that I’d set his wings on fire by accident. Whether or not he has them hidden wouldn’t matter; not when I’m concerned.”

“That train of thought is a fear, moron. Means he’s important to you.” Yoongi grins, eyes sparkling with humor.

Namjoon shrugs again, stubbing the butt of his cigarette out and pushing open the clichéd white picket fence to the leading to the trio of angels they’re speaking of, “Not going to deny that.”

Yoongi nods, inhaling the last of his cigarette before stomping it out and scoping up the butt, remembering vividly the complete talk down they’d gotten when the angels saw them leave them in front of the house. He’d prefer not to repeat that, thanks. Too much effort. When Yoongi stands back up, he sees the front door already open and Jimin already wrapped in Jungkook’s arms, happiness rolling off the pair in disgusting waves.

Jungkook peppers Jimin’s face with kisses, grinning at the way the small angel giggles, leaning into the larger body and wrapping his arms around Jungkook’s neck, smiling widely when the demon lifts him easily, walking back up the porch steps and back in to the house. Jungkook returns the smile, eyes softening in adoration as he leans forward to nuzzle into his mate, “C’mon. It’s late and we should get to bed and get some sleep.”

“Okay, Jungkookie! But only sleeping okay? Nothing else! It’s late and I have an early class tomorrow!” Jimin demands, pout firmly on his face as he looks at Jungkook seriously, knowing what’s running through the demon’s mind. His pout deepens when Jungkook just smirks at him, “Jungkookie…”

“I make no promises, angel.”

“Those two are disgusting.” Yoongi grumbles, watching intently as the pair makes their way up the stairs and into the house.

“Those two are in love.” Hoseok argues, also watching the pair, fondness evident in his tone and eyes, the vines on the porch climbing a few inches higher. He looks back at the others, “Let’s follow their lead and head to bed. You guys know where your rooms are. Where food is if you’re hungry.” He pauses on the third step, glancing at Namjoon quickly from under his fringe, “I’ve just replaced the table and refrigerator, Namjoon. Please be careful.”

Namjoon looks at Hoseok with a grin and a shrug, giving the angel a salute, “I will do my best to not break anything, fae.”

Turning quickly, Hoseok nods, rushing back into the house to avoid the others seeing his face redden at the term, “Okay. Goodnight!”

Taehyung snickers in amusement before eyeing the two still present demons seriously for a moment, his eyes settling on golden ones, “Thank you. I don’t want to know what you did and, please, don’t tell me. The less I know about what you do with things you don’t agree with, the better. I happen to not agree with this thing either, so I’m okay with looking the other way.”

“Your…welcome.” Yoongi offers, glancing at Namjoon curiously, rolling his eyes when Namjoon shrugs.

Taehyung grins broadly with a shrug and head tilt, “Except the gratitude, Yoongi. And sleep. Sleep sounds good right about now.”

Yoongi and Namjoon watch Taehyung disappear into the house, grinning at the obvious permission and free ticket given to them. They didn’t need the angels’ okay for anything but it felt good knowing they weren’t going to get their asses handed to them through lectures about rights and wrongs. After all, they do look after their own.
