A Guide and Gift to the Universe of 'A Core Problem'-an original work by the author Mirrond.

Summary:

The Core Problem and The Core Problem 2, both by Mirrond, are Original Works that I'm extremely fond of. I want to aid the author in their quest in writing their books by making a Guide to the universe (not the actual stories).

The Core Problem 2 is a rewrite of The Core Problem. If there is a difference between the two, the rewrite will take priority, but there will be a * saying (This is different in The Core Problem 1, refer to chapter Six).

I acknowledge there is a very real chance the author already wrote their own guide. In that case, this is for their readers.

Notes:

I wanted to get the start out to make a commitment-I'll be updating this work regularly with more info.
I'll also add to it when new chapters come out.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: The World of The Core Problem

Chapter Text

  • Universe History and Function
    • Story-At the biggening, there was nothing. Then, three gods were born. The first, and most important to the book, has a name lost to time. All that's known as that he powers something called the World Engine. It is a large swirl that constantly produces worlds. The closer a world is to the World Engine, the more 'magic' that world is. There are four main types of worlds. The first two are so saturated with magic, anything resembling a mortal or human doesn't exist. They're called ___ Worlds and ______ Worlds. The former is much more saturated than the latter with things that resemble magic, while the latter is much more saturated that a Material World.  The other two's types of worlds are Material Worlds and Mundane Worlds. These worlds are like earth, but with different peoples, lands, ect. The difference between the two is that Material Worlds have mana present, and other such magics, but mortals exist and can wield them. They're a mundane world, but with typical (and not so typical) fantasy elements. Meanwhile, a Mundane World has no such magic. An example of a Mundane world is earth. The Core Problem's setting is a Material World. It should be noted that eventually worlds get recycled, but this takes eons.

  • Types of Entities

An Entity is anything that is not a member of a race. They are the monsters of ‘The Core Problem’

  • Spirits-Creatures from either Primal or Spiritual Worlds. Two types–Daemons and Shards.
    • When the soul comes over, it possesses something akin to its body in the world it came from.
    • The stronger the soul, the more it can shape its new body to resemble its original one.
    • The souls of Daemons almost always can’t reproduce on the worlds they’re brought to. Their way of reproduction is copying itself, but most likely due to their souls being strong, they can’t accomplish this task
    • Daemons of the Restless Tide
    • Daemons of the Rampant Bloom
    • They possess weak souls, and as a result, can reproduce by copying themselves.
    • When they copy themselves, the resulting creature’s soul is slightly different from the host. Think of these as mutations.
    • Daemons–Mortal souls from other worlds, brought to this one.
    • Worlds Daemons are from
    • Shards–Souls of animals and plants from other worlds, brought to this one.
