Chapter Text
Tsukasa had a secret.
A secret that would make society hate him. A secret not even his family knew, not even his sister, Saki. The type of secret where you could only keep it inside your head, the type of secret where would get harassed to the point of suicide.
His secret? He was gay.
Tsukasa was one of the few people who had managed to find someone like him, he was one of the few that had a boyfriend. A loving boyfriend, who would take care and comfort him. A loving boyfriend that he hanged out with often. A loving boyfriend that swore he’d never leave Tsukasa.
Well, in the end, he did leave Tsukasa.
Did he leave him for another boy? No. Did he leave him because he was faking his homosexuality? No. Did he leave him because he moved? No. Did he leave him because he died? …unanswered. Maybe a flashback could answer your question.

The morning of June XXX, 20XX, Tsukasa woke up to the sound of his dad watching the news. Rubbing his eyes, he slid his feet into his slippers, making into the bathroom. Well, he was going to, before his ear caught onto what the reporter was saying.
The night before, there had been a tragic accident. A plane was hijacked, (this isn’t 9/11 even though it’s my second favorite worldwide accident) and had unfortunately crashed into an inhabited island. The plane had exploded immediately as soon as it touched the island, and unfortunately, no one had survived.
Tsukasa had felt sorry for those who were caught in the incident, but then his ears twitched. The flight number…could it be? No..no no no no. He must have misheard it…
The blonde immediately rushed to unlock his phone, hands sweaty and trembling as he opened his [REDACTED]’s chat box. He scrolled up slowly, afraid that his thought was right, that the flight was the one his beloved had been on.
Smack! (Sorry I don’t know what noise a phone makes when dropped)
Tsukasa‘s phone slipped out of his hands, roughly hitting the floor from the height.
It couldn’t be. Right? No way, this..surely everything was just a dream. Yes. It’s all a dream. [REDACTED] still alive. Everyone was still alive. They’re all fine, happy and fine.
…
He has to accept it, doesn’t he? That he’s dead. That his one reason is dead. That his one true love was dead.
….
Tsukasa cried that morning. He cried all day. His parents had decided to let him stay home until the weekend. After all, their son had just lost his ‘best friend’. They let Tsukasa grieve and mourn him, always offering comfort.
(Btw I don’t know how to write reactions since whenever one of my relatives pass away, I just go emotionless .,.)

He got over it eventually. He moved on. He had to. Of course, Tsukasa still missed [REDACTED]. He was sort of traumatized by [REDACTED] too… but he did get better by the end of the year. He even managed to come out to his family about him and [REDACTED]’s, well, former relationship.
His parents had accepted him with open arms and lots, and I mean LOTS, of tears. “We’re so glad you trusted us enough to come out,” the two had whispered to him, repeatedly giving him kisses on the cheek alongside tight hugs. Saki had joined in too, crushing her big brother despite looking weaker. The family of four had decided to bake a cake together that evening.
Graduating middle school and moving onto high school, Tsukasa decided to place his focus elsewhere as a distraction. It worked better than expected, his passion of theatre grew and it eventually became the one thing he decided to pursue. Tsukasa would even write his own scrips for him to perform. All of that self practice helped him a lot, he didn’t even join his school’s (Kamiyama High School) theatre club.
