Tipsy together we certainly be!
Aziraphale and Crowley were out and about.
No reason really, simply being together, hanging out with one another. Out in the open like any regular couple. As now they could. With Heaven and Hell off of their backs, so time to be out there in the open. Which was well, a novelty for sure!
“Waddaya say Angel, should we celebrate this, our freedom from it all?”
Aziraphale still getting used to all this, openness between them. Crowley clearly a natural at it, holding hands with his Angel, walking arm in arm, sharing a peck on the lips every now and again. And right in front of everyone and their pet!
“Are you sure? I mean, we’re still… well… what if someone…???”
The Angel glanced around nervously, as if something or someone was about to jump them just then.
“Is alright love, there’s nothing there. We’re free! Remember the deal?”
“I do, it’s just, well… perhaps we should take the celebration indoors?”
“Nonsense, Angel.”
And with a snap of his fingers, a basket with all the goodies appeared into the Demon’s hand.
“See, is all good!”
Aziraphale still a tad nervous, glanced at the basket, seeing a peek of the delicacies in there screaming to be consumed. Licking his lips… the decision made.
“Alright.”
Aziraphale looked around the park they had conveniently landed on and picked a spot.
“Over there, under that tree!”
“Perfect!”
The two of them heading to the spot, a blanket appearing out of thin air, Crowley placing it onto the ground.
“If I may dear Sir!”
Crowley offered his hand while guiding Aziraphale onto the comfortable blanket, himself joining suit.
Crowley then resuming to open the champagne bottle with a pop of its cork and pouring into the two glasses while Aziraphale waited expectantly. Eager enough already, despite his earlier nervousness.
“So, what shall we drink to, eh?”
“To us.”
“To us it is!”
The two lovers clinking their glasses, cheering for their future together, long since pending.
After a while, the basket filled with goodies was consumed, mostly by the Angel. Two bottles of the best of the best already downed. They both felt a bit, well, tipsy.
Their words certainly slurring by now, the alcohol taking its promised affect on the deities.
“So… my sss-sweet love… ya think, this is-ss us now… for good?”
“I …would love to think…. sss-so.”
A spell of silence fell.
“So, will ya marry me then?”
Aziraphale suddenly feeling more sober as he popped the question out of the blue (or then not).
Crowley too sobering up quickly enough.
“Angel, ya really want to… marry me?”
“Of course, love. Always.”
“Oh-kay then. Guess, I will.”
“You guess?”
“No, I mean I do.”
“Good.”
“Good!”
“Let’s have a drink to that!”
The glasses filed again, then raised for a cheer. It was official! Finally!
As of now, they were suddenly or not so suddenly, engaged to be married. To each other! The Angel and his Demon. A slightly tipsy yet loving pair they most certainly were.
