    Summary

No one remembers exactly how it began-only that one night, the sky over Kazdel turned the color of molten glass, and the next morning, the city was gone. Not destroyed in fire or flood, but crystallized-buildings, trees, even people-frozen in jagged silence. From the ruins came a sickness: blood that hardened into glittering splinters, pressing outward until it broke the skin. A beautiful, agonizing curse.

She was one of the few who survived.
The girl who walked out of Kazdel with shards blooming along her arms like thorns remembers very little. Just heat. Screams. A hand letting go. And then waking up in a sterile white facility, where voices whispered about cures, containment, and failure. They gave her a name she doesn't remember choosing. They told her to rest. To heal. To forget.
That place, too, is ash now--another memory burned out before it could settle.

But the crystals still grow. And she has a promise to fulfill.
    Even if she doesn't remeber.
