The ride on the Ferris wheel was much longer than they expected and Noelle was getting more and more nervous. She was alone with Susie and although she had been waiting for this moment for a while, she didn't know what to do, not even in her dream.
Susie was no better off than her, even if she managed to reassure her that it was all a dream, she knew that everything was real and yet she too felt like she was in a dream.
Being alone together, they had the opportunity to talk in a way they hadn't been able to at school. It was a very pleasant and relaxing feeling, but they were both still nervous. Until Susie gathered the strength to ask a question.
“Since this is a dream, is there anything else you’d like to do with Susie?” She felt herself blush as she said that, saying her name when referring to herself filled her with shame but she had to keep it up so Noelle would continue thinking it was all a dream.
Noelle was petrified upon hearing that. “(What does she mean by that, what does she want me to do, why would my dream present me with that question, if this is just a dream there is no problem with what I do but why can't I do anything????) ¿Why are you asking that??”
“I mean, this is your dream, right? There must be something else you want to do, and you could do it if you wanted to.” Susie can't believe she said that. Is she being too direct? Does she think she's weird for suggesting something else? How could she say something like that?
Noelle leans a little closer to Susie from the other end of the seat and begins to play with her fingers as she prepares to speak. “There’s more I’d like to do with Susie, but I want to get to know her better first.”
Susie is surprised to hear that Noelle is interested in learning more about her and feels the red rise in her cheeks once again. “What would you like to know?”
“About her life, ¿how did she get here? ¿Why does she pretend to be the class bully? ¿And what does she want?” “That’s a lot of questions!!!”
“Hehe, I guess I'm really curious. I know she's not bad, but because of the way she acts many people might see her that way.”
Susie wonders how Noelle sees her. “What do you think about her?”
Noelle, a little surprised by the question, answers: “I think that since she’s new in town she doesn’t know anyone and has no one to hang out with so she acts that way to feel safer, but she doesn’t have to be. I’m sure that if she lets other people get closer without scaring them she could find someone who understands her.”
“Is that why you want to talk to her, so she’s not alone and miserable?” Susie says, a little hurt.
“No no no, not like that, I really think she’s a great person If they gave her the chance.” “Seriously, then, why do you say that?”
“Well, first of all, she has a good sense of humor.” “Do you really think that?” “Yes, I do, even though she's a bit rude, she's made me laugh several times, although I can't let her notice, she'd probably make fun of me and put me in a locker haha (I wish she did 😭🤑).”
“HA HA HA (insert Susie's laughter) don't worry there are more people she would make fun of instead of you.” “I hope so, luckily Berdly is usually the one who attracts the most attention and he would surely be the target.”
“HA HA HA that's for sure.” Susie blushes a little again. “¿Is there anything else you like about her?”
Noelle remembers why they were talking and blushes again when she notices that she came a little closer, the idea of moving away quickly crosses her mind but she puts it aside and decides to continue talking.
“I like her laugh and the energy she has, although most of the time she is scary.” “HA HA HA so you also think I'm scary?”
“Hehe a little bit, but in part I like that.”
“¡¿What?!
“Um, I mean, I like the authority she imposes, how she makes it known what she wants and how she can be willing to fight for it, like you here, fighting against Queen to come rescue me.”
“Oh yeah that's true, it's nothing, It's what heroes do, I guess.” “Hahaha yes, it's nice to think of Susie being a hero, using her strength to help others.”
“¿Do you think I'm very strong 😼?” “Yes, to swing an axe like that you must have a lot of strength, and I can also see your arms and you are very big and you could surely throw me against the wall without problems if you wanted to and…”
Noelle realizes what she's saying and quickly puts her hands to her mouth to stop herself and moves away from Susie. “HA HA HA Well, you're right, I'm really strong. I easily carried Kris and pinned them against a locker, I wouldn't have a problem doing it with you.”
Susie notices that Noelle moved away. “Oh sorry if I scared you, I won't slam you against the locker, I promise.” Noelle is relieved that Susie didn't realize what she said.
“Haha thanks (😔)... Wait, you slammed Kris against a locker??
“Oh um, yeah?? But everything is fine now, it happened when we went to get some chalk for the class, but now everything is better, we've talked things over and now we're friends.”
“Did it all really happen yesterday?”
Susie realizes she's saying things she shouldn't.
“I mean this um, no, it's not true, that didn't happen to me, I mean Susie didn't do that I um.”
Noelle realizes that if Susie is saying things about the real world she doesn't know about, then this should be real too, but that's not possible, that means that...
Noelle turns red, she feels her nose start to glow and covers her face with her hands while Susie tries to fix what she just did.
“I um, I mean, we trained combat in a magic school, yes that and… in that school there were lockers to um store weapons of course um oh yes and books too and during the first days we went to look for chalk for our fighting class yes because um we learn to fight with blackboards and I….”
Susie turns to look at Noelle and realizes it's too late to make her believe she's still dreaming, so she stops her pathetic attempt at an origin story to give her time to calm down.
After a minute of silence Susie breaks it.
“Sorry I lied to you, I thought things would be easier for you if you thought it was all a dream, then you wouldn't have to worry about everything that this world means and what could happen.”
“What do you mean by this world, and what could happen?” “Well, uff, I'm not Ralsei but I'll try to explain as much as I can about all this.”

After telling her the legend that Ralsei told her and Kris and their adventures in the school closet, Noelle understands the importance of what they are truly doing.
“So that's why you´re trying to stop Queen and prevent her from creating more fountains?” “Yes.” “Does that mean you guys are like legendary heroes??” “Yeah, I guess so.”
“Then when this thing stops we must find Kris and seal that fountain.” “Yes, that's the plan, seal the fountain and get out of here.”
After agreeing on their plans, something comes back to Noelle's mind: their conversation from before, what she said, if this is the real Susie, why was she so interested in what she thought of her?
“Um Susie?” “Yes?”
“¿Why did you ask me that question earlier?”
Susie realizes what she did and that now Noelle knows it's real. “Oh that, I um, I was curious, that's all, about what you thought because…”
“Because…?” Noelle approaches again as before, maybe if they can regain that feeling of comfort with each other, they can both talk freely.
Susie begins to feel nervous and she can't find the right words to say. “I…, I had seen you and you were…, I wanted to….”
Noelle gathers her strength once more and decides to put her hand on Susie's to try to calm her down, although she becomes just as nervous as Susie. “It´s okay, you don't have to say it if you don't want to, we can talk about it later.”
Noelle would like to know what Susie is thinking, but Susie is so nervous… she can't leave her like that. She never believed that Susie could get like that. She always saw her as someone strong and who was always direct with her feelings. She never thought that she could also get as nervous as her.
Susie, hearing Noelle's reassuring words, manages to calm down, but something inside her pushes her to say what she truly wanted to say. Noelle really was as good as she imagined.
“The truth is that when I got to school I was afraid of starting over and I didn't want to be alone and vulnerable again, that's why I acted the way I did, you were right about that, but you still saw me differently.”
Noelle remains as red-faced as she already was, but this time her ears perk up as much as they can when she hears her.
“I always saw you from the back of the classroom, you were the model student, as well as the mayor's daughter, but even so, you were not what I expected. I had already met people who, because of their status, believed themselves to be better than the others, or like Berdly, who presumes their intelligence, but you are different from them.”
Susie pauses for a moment, thinking about what to say. She doesn't want this to sound too weird or rushed, she doesn't want to scare Noelle.
“I remember the first time I spoke to you, it wasn't much but it was important to me, for you it may not have been, but that day you lent me the pencil, anyone else wouldn't have bothered but you went all the way to help me, although I ended up eating it, it really was nothing but since then I've noticed you more.
Susie gently takes Noelle's hand and she flinches a little. “I notice how you are the one who helps Berdly so he can excel, how you help Temmie practice her singing, how whenever you can you offer to help Alphys with class, like yesterday when you offered to get the chalk with me, I have also noticed how always when you leave school you go to the hospital to see your father.”
Noelle squeezes Susie's hand. “I know it's weird, sorry about that, I shouldn't have said that, I shouldn't have spied on you like that.” Susie tries to let go of Noelle's hand but she stops her.
“No no, it's fine, I- I've followed you sometimes too.” “Really??”
“Yes, when I walk home sometimes I see you and follow you. I've seen you sitting by the lake watching, I've also seen you eating the chalk from school.”
“HA HA HA, I guess now you know why Alphys always runs out of chalk.” “Hahaha, yes, now I know. And in fact, today when I found you and Kris, I was looking for you.” “For me?”
“Yes, apart from giving you the box of chalk, I wanted us to work together on the project, even though we ended up on different teams, so I told Kris to bring you to the library so we could all work together and I could get to know you better.” “So that's why we came here.”
“Fahaha I guess so, if you weren't here I would still be trapped.” “Then it's good that it was like that, now you're safe.” Susie smiles at Noelle.
“Haha I'm glad you came.” Noelle moves closer and rests her head on Susie's shoulder while interlacing her fingers with Susie's. She is surprised but follows Noelle's movements.
“Yeah, I'm glad too.”
They both spend some time in silence just with each other's company and the view that the enormous wheel provides them, the great city stretches out at their feet and they both wonder how big it really is and how much longer they will be there waiting to stop, although if it were up to them the wheel could go on forever.
…
It's a shame that the wheel just arrived at its destination, after what seemed like hours.
“Well, I thought it would never stop.” Susie says, holding Noelle's sweet hand tighter, who now leans her entire body on her cabin companion's arm.
“I guess it's time to go down then.” Noelle says with no intention of leaving her position next to Susie.
“I guess so, but they were supposed to find us here, so if no one has arrived, we're in no hurry. We could wait a little longer here for them to arrive.”
“Yes, that's a good idea.”
Noelle turns to look at Susie and she meets her gaze.
“Besides, I haven't answered your question yet.”
“You didn’t??”
“Yes, there are still more things I would like to do with you.” Noelle moves closer to Susie now slowly taking her other hand.
“R-really, like what???” Susie says nervously as she feels Noelle's soft but firm hands.
“When we get back outside we could go somewhere, to the park, get something to eat,…”
Susie regains her courage when she hears Noelle wanting to make plans with her. “Yeah, we could go see a movie, go to an arcade,...”
“Haha, we could finish our project.”
“No no, I don't think that's a good plan.”
“Hahahaha yeah I guess not, considering how it ended the first time.”
“HA HA HA you're right, it is fun but if it could bring about the end of the world it would be good to avoid it. Oh! you could come with us to Ralsei's kingdom, he can make us cakes and you could meet Lancer.” “Fahaha that sounds like a great plan.” “Hehe yes, it will be great.”
Noelle and Susie turn their bodies to face each other while still holding hands, their gazes meeting before shifting to each other's lips.
“We could…” Noelle says as her mind runs into wilder possibilities.
“We could…” Susie’s mind seems to be thinking the same things
They both stopped for a moment looking at each other, Noelle was as red as could be and Susie could feel how (if she had) her tail was waging, they both looked at each other searching for doubts but there was not a trace of them and after another minute in silence Susie spoke again.
“I could…?”
Noelle looked at Susie and her eyes lit up when she heard the words come out of her mouth. Susie waited for her answer, feeling like if she didn't receive it soon, her heart would explode and she would turn into a cloud of dust. Noelle, with her heart beating a thousand times per minute, spoke
“You can…” her voice soft, but her answer reached Susie, giving her permission to continue,
They were both ready, little by little they began to move and get closer as if they weren't sure they were talking about the same thing. But they were.
Susie's hands released Noelle's to caress her face with one hand and hold her waist with the other while Noelle turned even redder than she thought possible. She then placed her hands on Susie's shoulders and as they slowly moved closer she placed them around her neck while Susie moved her hand from Noelle's face to place it on her back.
Noelle could feel the size of Susie's hands compared to her back and waist and she became even more nervous, it was finally happening and she wasn't going to stop now for anything in the world.
Noelle looked into Susie's eyes and when she knew she was looking into hers, she turned to look at her lips, as if to make sure for the last time that this is indeed what they both want. She understood the gesture and nodded slightly, they both moved closer to each other again, tightening their grip on each other.
Noelle looks one last time into Susie's eyes and then at her lips before finally closing her eyes and letting herself be guided by Susie´s hands that pull her closer and closer.
Susie watches her and closes her eyes too.
Both with their eyes closed in a world formed of the darkest of darkness, at that moment, when their lips finally meet, it seems that it’s where they could finally find the light again. They both share this moment that they had longed for.
To finally be with each other, their lips together at last, the feeling of connection they both so longed for with each other now expressed and felt through their lips that are frozen in place, unwilling to move in order to let this moment last forever, like frozen inside an ice crystal from which the warmth of the moment threatens to melt it.
They hug each other even tighter, although they will soon have to take a breath.
It is Noelle who first loosens her arms a little to let Susie know that she needs air, and then they both part their lips and open their eyes.
Noelle watches Suise's lips, now knowing how they feel, then meets Susie's eyes looking into hers as they both breathe exhaustedly.
After taking a breath without any words being said, they both come closer again to kiss once more, this time their lips move more, wanting to explore each other's lips better, this time Susie puts one of her hands on the back of Noelle's head to hold her.
Noelle feels her hand and decides to move a hand that now runs through Susie's hair, the movement of her lips quickens and Noelle feels Susie begin to open them. Noelle hugs her tighter and begins to open hers as well, Susie decides to open her lips wide and start kissing different parts of Noelle's lips and giving small bites. Noelle continues with what Susie does, also giving her little kisses on the snout.
The kisses get bigger and closer until Susie licks Noelle's lips and cheek a little, she is surprised and steps back a little. Susie worries that she's done something she shouldn't have.
“Sorry, I didn't know you didn´t..., I shouldn't have gone so fast, I…”
But she was stopped by Noelle's laughter who then continued to kiss her tenderly. Then Susie plucked up her courage again and playfully licked her again.
They continued to play around for a while, enjoying this new level of closeness between the two, but they both wanted more, little by little their lips and the playfulness got closer and closer, until their tongues met and began to play a little with each other. Then Noelle and Susie separate again to catch their breath and to make sure they both wanted to continue with this.
After the break they look at each other again, both ready to continue, Susie's hands move down to Noelle's lower back and pull her closer to her while Noelle's arms return to Susie's neck.
Both move towards each other again.
And suddenly…
The cabin door opens, they both separate and sit back down next to each other and watch the door open. They'd completely forgotten where they were and that the cabin had windows. Did somebody see them? ¿Who's opening the door?
Shortly after, the door opens completely and as the light enters, someone's silhouette can be seen. A very well-known silhouette, it could only be…
Berdly
“Don't worry ladies, Berdly is here to rescue you🦸.”
Noelle and Susie couldn't believe it, they both wanted to strangle the blue bird right there, unfortunately for them this was not a dream and doing so would have consequences.
“Surely the door mechanism was broken 🧐 and that's why you couldn't open the door ☝️🤓 so you must have been very scared trapped inside waiting for someone to come and rescue you😘but after analyzing the mechanism and seeking advice and help from our comrades 🫡 now here I am and I managed to decipher the mechanism 🤔and it turns out, it wasn't broken, you just hadn't tried to open it 🤯 but don't worry it's understandable, after sweet Noelle was vilely captured 😔 the most understandable thing is that she doesn't want to go out for fear of being abducted🛸 once again😰, so very well done Susan👍🏼, for keeping her inside until the cavalry came to the rescue😼, and I know we don't have horses🐎, but this time cavalry is for chivalry 😎, so, please go ahead, you are free to leave, I will take care of protecting you now 🦸♂️🦅🦅🦅.”
Noelle and Susie couldn't find a suitable reaction to that and Susie quickly looked behind Berdly for help, where she was met with Ralsei's worried face and Kris's surprisingly smiling face.
Ralsei understood what Susie was looking for and decided to intervene by playing along with Berdly to avoid problems.
“I'm glad you're safe now, now we must seal the fountain quickly to stop Queen, but we need someone capable to examine the area to see if it's safe for Noelle.”
“Oh 😲You're right, I'll go make sure Noelle isn't in any danger ⚠️up ahead🫡. Don't worry Susan😏, you should rest your strength too. I'll go ahead and take care of everything🦸♂️🦅🦅🦅.”
Berdly left quickly, leaving the rest behind so they could prepare to seal the fountain.
However, Noelle and Susie were still shaken by what had happened and had a lot on their minds, they would have to put that aside for the moment and concentrate on stopping Queen for now. And maybe later they'll have time to talk more about what happened.
