Work Text:

Three sections. Cross the right over the middle. Cross the left over the middle. Repeat until the end of the hair.

Charlie tried and tried, but she couldn’t get it right.

Elizabeth carefully fixed Charlie’s hair into two braids and tied bows at the ends. Not a strand was out of place.

Charlie looked in the mirror and smiled at her best friend.

“You’re the best, Beth.”

“I know,” She grinned.

Charlie blinked away tears. Elizabeth had always made it look so easy. She tied her hair into two uneven straggley ponytails. The ribbons in her hair stuck out awkwardly.
