Bendy stared down at his phone a tad distracted by his puzzle game as he waited in the library for his father’s text. It was close to check in time with Cuphead and Bendy was waiting for the clock to hit 3:00.
Suddenly his bracelet buzzed to life as he finished another level and he looked down at it to see the light glowing on it.
Green.
Bendy smiled a little and pressed the bracelet twice to send the message that he was fine and had gotten the message.
“What’cha got there?”
Bendy jumped a little almost dropping his phone. Chalice stood in front of him watching him with a curious smile.
Bendy sighed.
Chalice was Cuphead’s girlfriend and was one of the few people who seemed just as much of an outcast as they were a star in school. She could disappear really easily and suddenly you’d see a crowd and she’d be there.
But he’d become far too familiar with her showing up unannounced. It was like she fazed through walls or something.
“It’s just a bracelet my mom got me.” Bendy said shaking his wrist. “They come in pairs.” He explained fondly.
“Pairs?” Chalice asked curiously.
“Yeah, they’re touch bracelets. It’s to let someone you know, know if you’re ok. Like long distance relationships or whatever.” Bendy explained
“Ah~” Chalice cooed playfully elbowing Bendy.
“So, who’s the lucky lady!?” She asked and Bendy snorted a little looking at her like she told the world’s biggest joke.
“Nope. Still not in a relationship, try again.” Bendy said making a buzzing sound.
Chalice laughed a little before thinking. Tapping her chin, she looked Bendy over and the design of the bracelet trying to think about who’d been wearing the newest bling.
“Is it a family member?” She asked pressing her fingers together.
“Eh!” He made the buzzer noise again and laughed. “Last guess.” Bendy laughed and Chalice snorted with a smirk jokingly jutting her hip like a mean girl would.
“Well, I know it ain’t Cuphead, he hates jewelry.” She said throwing out some of the first names that came to mind when it came to family.
Bendy snorted a little and noticed a message from his dad.
“He may not like ‘em but he hasn’t taken It off since I gave it to him.” Bendy said confidently. His smile was wide and honest which caused Chalice’s brain to halt.
After all, Cuphead had rejected her offer to get them a matching set of jewelry already.
“He… what?” Chalice asked almost too quietly as she watched Bendy grab his bag off the floor.
“Yeah, Cuphead doesn’t have a phone plan yet and after Bowl Boy’s whole set up, he’s been nervous, so I offered him the other half.” Bendy explained swing his bag up onto his shoulder.
“We’ve been doing morning and nightly check in’s the past two weeks.” Bendy said fondly and Chalice let a small smile front as her brain looped around the way Bendy had talked about it.
“I see.”
Bendy looked out the window and didn’t seem to catch on to Chalice’s shift in tone as he tucked his phone away.
“I’ll have to catch up with you later Chal-Gal. Pop’s is here to pick me up.” Bendy explained and began to walk away, before Chalice reached out and grabbed Bendy’s wrist a little causing the other to pause.
“I-“
Chalice paused and sighed looking at Bendy and then at the floor.
“I wanted to thank you Bendy.” She said forcing a bigger smile.
Bendy raised a brow as she pulled her hands away.
“I mean. You’ve been looking after Cuphead since his first day in school and I know it means a lot ta me and Mugman.” Chalice said sweetly.
“So thank you.”
Bendy flustered a little and rubbed the back of his neck. He still was not used to being complimented in the slightest.
“Jee, Chalice. I don’t know what to say.” Bendy said looking a little uncomfortable. “He’s the first friend I ever had.” He said honestly looking a little embarrassed that he was being so open with her like this.
“I should be thanking you.” He mentioned catching Chalice off guard.
Bendy didn’t meet her eyes but he kept going.
“You’ve been so welcoming to the Cup Brothers and even helped them when they went looking for me during harvest day.” Bendy explained looking intensely at his shoes.
“You were the one who found me at the Docks and socked those jerks Ribby and Croaks.” He said with a big smile.
“If it wasn’t for you, I’d of been over in silly vision by now with Joey Drew caging me like an animal.”
Chalice watched as Bendy recoiled at the mere thought.
“So I guess we both have things to be grateful to each other for.” Bendy said and Chalice felt her gut twist as the metal in her hand burned with guilt and shame.
“Then how ‘bout a hug fer the road.” She offered. Bendy hesitated but he accepted, and Chalice slid the finely melded piece back over Bendy’s wrist where she’d taken it from.
Her stomach steeped with many emotions as they pulled away, but She felt relived seeing that Bendy hadn’t noticed a thing.
With that small exchange, Bendy waved and left the library a blush coating his cheeks as he hopped into shotgun where Boris attacked him from the back seat with lot of wet kisses.
Bendy laughed and Chalice watched as the Stein’s drove away.
A look of concern crossing her face.
“It’s just Bendy…”

A/N: I hope you enjoyed this one shot. I wanted to share a bit of Chalice and Bendy's relationship since the only thing I showed was Chalice not leaving the cafe or place from that one fic. She does care about the Cup and B Brothers, she has a big part of the story herself so I thought I'd share that she's not some flat and unhelpful girlfriend. She does have regrets of her own too and she's one of the few people who Alice can hang out with when she's allowed over.
