Work Text:
Another day of Yu Jimin's life, and she spent it on rehearsals, as usual.
She wasn’t overworking herself, she would never do that, but her band has an upcoming stage in 4 days, and she had to practice for hours to ace the presentation.
It wasn’t their first presentation as a band, so she was kinda used to it, used to change her whole schedule to wake up, go to the studio, sit in front of her drums, and play nonstop until she got exhausted from it.
Yes, Yu Jimin played the drums in her band, she was really fond of them, when she was a kid she was always playing with some sticks trying to make some kind of sound when she hit them onto any object, that sound was the thing that made her continue and continue doing it.
Trying to find the melody from doing all of that. And she found it.
She didn’t have any drum classes or something, she taught herself from scratch, getting her fingers hurt many times because of it. Yeah, something usual as a drummer. At first, she thought of giving up, but something in her didn’t let her do that, and now there she is, in a band, playing drums like it depended of her life.
Jimin just liked playing the drums, that’s all, no need for more explanation, she loved it and she could play until she died.
This one of those days, Jimin rehearsing alone as usual, she wanted to practice with the group but they were busy with college, so they couldn’t make it.
She doesn’t even know how much time she spent in that tiny practice room, but the only thing she knows is how cool she looks at banging the drums, making her smile proudly at herself.
Her ego boosting didn’t make her realize that someone was knocking on the door of the studio in the past 10 minutes, waiting for it being open.
That person didn’t knock only one time, she knocked three times and got the same response, nothing. She even considered on turning around and just stop trying, but she couldn’t do that, the trip back to her home was long and expensive, something she couldn’t afford at the moment.
She sighed, and knocked again, she decided to wait 3 minutes.
And the minutes passed, the only thing she could hear behind that door is the sound of Jimin drumming nonstop, even shouting because of her little performance.
Kim Minjeong had enough, and opened the door without waiting any longer.
She walked into the studio, the door automatically closing behind her, She made a few steps and she finally faced the person she wanted to see in the past 2 hours.
Yu Jimin.
Needless to say, she noticed her, stopping her little practice and gave her a little smile, something that Minjeong hated.
"Oh! Hi Minjeongie!" The older girl said, leaning over her drums, with her drumsticks on hand, giving all her attention to the latter.
The blonde rolled her eyes after listening to that nickname, she hated it.
"I told you to not call me that, Jimin."
"Aw? Why not? It suits you!" Jimin replied, still smiling at her, happy to see her.
"You aren’t allowed to call me that!" She said, rising her voice a little, trying to assert dominance. "We already talked about this!" Sadly her attempt didn’t work.
Jimin just giggled, and this made the younger girl more mad.
"I can call you that, though." Jimin started, looking at her in the eyes, "You are my Minjeongie, after all."
Shit. Minjeong thought, looking away from her, she hated when her flirting made a big reaction on her.
She will not be blushing, she will not-
Minjeong groaned, and made some steps away from her, "I hate you." She said, and she could only hear the giggles from the older girl as a response.
She was tired of this, she just came to give her lunch, and leave, not- whatever this is!
Jimin stopped giggling and stood up from her seat, leaving her drumsticks on the same seat, and started walking towards Minjeong.
Minjeong didn’t realize what was going on, but it was too late now, the older girl was step away from her, with that stupid smile all over her face.
Minjeong tried to act nonchalant, avoiding eye contact all cost.
But this made Jimin want to tease her more, she looked so cute when she acted like that.
"Are you sure you hate me?" She asked, and Minjeong nodded, still not looking at her eyes.
"But if you hate me… then why are you blushing?"
What? Minjeong quickly shifted her eyes to her, with a surprised expression on her face.
She finally looked at her, but she turned her head to another direction, trying to calm herself down.
She wasn’t blushing, right? Jimin was just teasing her just like any other day, she wasn’t blushing. She. Wasn’t. Blushing.
But she couldn’t deny that her cheeks felt a little more hotter than usual. Fuck.
Minjeong inhaled, and then exhaled, getting the courage to finally look at Jimin’s eyes.
And she did, making the latter more happier.
"I'm not blushing." She replied, trying to keep her nonchalant act, but she knew it wouldn’t work with the Yu Jimin.
"Okay…" The latter replied, but she had another question on her sleeve.
"Then, why are you here?" She asked, and Minjeong totally forgot why she was even there.
Right, she was there to deliver something for her, her lunch.
Minjeong muttered a little “wait” and walked towards the door, opening it to only pick up something she had left outside the studio.
After picking it up, she gently closed the door and approached the older girl, who was staring at her curiously.
"You forgot… your lunch," She started, looking at the other side of the room, like it was more interesting than looking at the person she had in front of her, "So, I brought it to you, so you can eat something." She finished, handing over the little lunchbox she made for Jimin.
The lunchbox wasn’t that amazing, it was one of those simple lunchboxes everyone had, but for Jimin, this wasn’t a simple one. Minjeong made it for her, it was special.
Jimin grabbed the lunchbox, and she smiled widely.
"Thank you, Minjeongie!" She said, and then hugged her unexpectedly, startling Minjeong a little.
Although it took her by surprise, that was no impediment for her arms to slowly wrap around Jimin's body, returning the embrace.
The older girl smiled at this, and hugged her tighter.
They were hugging for a couple of seconds, until Minjeong decided to break the embrace, taking a few steps back to keep a distance with Jimin, who... was still with that stupid smile on her face.
Then, they continued were staring at each other, Jimin looking at her as if she was a portrait taken from an art museum, as if Minjeong was her life, her everything.
Minjeong was looking back at her, trying in every possible way not to smile, which was a very difficult challenge, Jimin's smile was contagious, and she wasn't the exception.
After seconds and seconds of just staring at each other like fools, Minjeong knew she had to go, Jimin had to practice for more hours, something that didn’t make her happy at all.
She was happy because of her achievements, and her amazing talent, but she didn’t like Jimin overworking herself because of it, she wanted her to rest at least one hour.
Well… at least she made her rest for some minutes…
"So, uh-" She started, bursting Jimin’s bubble, capturing her whole attention again, "I… need to go, I have stuff to do."
Minjeong was lying, she had the rest of the day free, college wasn’t demanding her a lot of stuff like other students, so she basically had time to spear most of the time, but she knew this was her cue to leave.
Jimin wouldn't concentrate at all with her presence in that studio, she knew it because of… past experiences.
Jimin sighed, and looked at her, she clearly didn’t want her little Minjeongie to leave.
"It’s okay, Minjeongie." She replied, her lips curling up, forming a tiny smile.
She didn’t want her puppy to leave, gosh, she missed her so much… But, she knew she could always see her after rehearsing.
Minjeong nodded as a response, but she didn’t move or anything, she stayed there, thinking if she should do anything else…
She wanted to do that, but- ugh, maybe she shouldn’t do that right now… Jimin needed to concentrate, not to get distracted.
But- maybe… she can get a little revenge, right? Maybe she can be a bit selfish.
Fuck it, she was going to do it.
Minjeong without saying anything else, stepped closer and closer to Jimin. Jimin thought that maybe she was about to say her something else, so she smiled at her, as usual.
Without hesitating, Minjeong leaned into Jimin’s lips, locking them with her’s.
Jimin opened her eyes, surprised at her girlfriend’s actions, but she leaned in, reciprocating it.
She even smiled between the kiss, she missed Minjeong, but the most she missed were her kisses, her soft lips… the cherry taste they always had…
It was everything she always wanted, and she loved her girlfriend when she initiated their kisses.
Unfortunately, the kiss didn’t last longer, Minjeong broke it, stepping away from her girlfriend, avoiding her eyes.
"G-Good luck on your practice, Jiminnie." She said, and rushed out to the door, leaving her girlfriend alone in the studio, again.
Jimin was a blushing mess, she couldn’t even believe that happened.
But she couldn’t stop smiling like a fool, staring at the door where she came into, missing the taste of her lips.
Shit… she was so in love with her girlfriend, wasn’t she?
