Chapter Text
It was a very gloomy Friday afternoon. Marjorie sitting at her desk working on administrative papers glanced up as Autumn walked in the door. “Hello, my love you alright?”
“Fine, just bored at the house. Reece is with the twins so I thought I would get out of the house.” Replied autumn. “Wonderful, always lovely to see you.” Said Marjorie.
“Is there anything you need me to do?”
“No, my darling. I just finished the last of it and Mia is floating around here somewhere. Probably watching Char.”
“Ah how nauseatingly adorable.”
“Very”
It was at that time Mia walked back in. “Hey Aut.” “Mia.” Mia, about to say something, looks up. “Don’t look now but we are about to have a rat infestation.”
“Oh, what now” says Marjorie. “Hmm” hums Autumn. “Just what we want on a Friday”
As Roger walks in they don’t notice the tiny teenager behind him.
“Hello Marjorie, Mutton Chops…Amelia”
“Roger” “Father”
“Rog, to what do we owe this... pleasant visit.” Mia asks with a smirk.
“I come baring a belated birthday gift for Autumn.”
“You shouldn’t have.” Autumn states deadpan
“Nonsense. It is something you have always wanted.”
At this point Roger pushes the young girl from behind him.
“A teenager?” asks Autumn
“No…. a younger sister”
Silence. You could hear a penny drop.
“EH??” shouts Marjorie. “Wait. What?” asks Mia
“Excuse me?” comes from Autumn
All this time the child is cringing and looking small and afraid.
“Well…” Roger starts “16 years ago apparently a fling I had resulted in what you see here, and the mother conveniently forgot to mention this. Once I found out…well lets just says she was taken to her rightful home.”
“And how long ago was that?” Autumn asked through clenched teeth
“13 years ago.”
“And you’re just now bringing her up?”
“Yes, she is quite the disappointment, so I have no need of her.” He turns to the young girl, who looks way smaller than any 16 year old should, “Camile… sit.” Roger basically barks at her to sit. But instead of sitting in a chair or on the couch she drops to the floor instantly. Roger pats her head. “Well... I’m off. Happy birthday Mutton Chops.” With his smirk he is out the door before anyone can say anything.
After a beat Autumn is out of her seat and crouching in front of Camile. Very calm and quiet she says “hello darling. How about we get off this floor? You are not a dog.”
Camile’s head snaps up, a frightened look in her eyes... “ok”. The sound is barely audible. Autumn holds out her hand and Camile looks in her eye for a second and slowly reaches out.
“OH…MY…CHRIST!”
