Monica Everett lives in a small house in the forest. She has a pet cat Nero (who is also her familiar) and lives a peaceful, quiet life. But one single request shattered that lifestyle.
“So because I am to old to go to Hogwarts as a student, and no I will not go as a teacher, you will have to go in my place and protect the boy-who-lived.” Louis said with a smug smile. “W-W-Wha-What” stammered Monica, who was panicking in her mind. Because why does she need to go to school? No, no, nope. Going to school means other people, other people means talking and she knows that that will be a disaster waiting to happen. “Go to Hogwarts, protect the boy, oh and don’t reveal your identity as the silent witch. Here is your letter with all the information you need in it.” Louis took an envelope and laid it on the wooden table. “You will have to go to Diagon Alley and buy your stuff there, anyway that’s all have a good day” And with that Louis left Monica alone panicking at her table.
When Louis completely left Nero jumped on the table and started putting his paws on Monicas face. “ common Monica get yourself together, don’t you like it when I pet you with my paws?” “Y-Yes” “ Then snap out of it!” Nero yelled. Monica began tearing up and said in between her sobbing: “Bu-But why m-me? Why do I need to go to this school? Aren’t there other sages who are the same age as the students?” “Monica you know that you are the youngest of all the seven sages and that the second youngest is Louis.” “I know…”
When Monica calmed a little down they decided to open the envelope and see what’s inside.
To: Miss Monica Norton

“Nor-Norton, that’s not my last name!?” stammered Monica. “Huh, so you have a fake name for the mission? Cool” “It is not cool, what if I forget that that is supposed to be my last name and I don’t answer, that will surly cause the mission to fail. And then Louis will haunt me forever!!!” Monica started panicking again. “Hey, Hey calm down you want my paws? You like my paws here. It will be alright you will get used to it in no time. Lets read the rest of the letter. Nero said quietly.
Dear Miss Norton,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl no later than July 31.

“ July 31!? Today is the 30 of July… and by owl? What does the letter mean by that??” Nero asked. At that moment, landed a little brown owl on the table. “I guess the letter means that by owl.” Monica said and petted the owl on its head. The owl kept staring at the letter so Monica gives the letter to the owl. After that the owl flies away.
“Okay so now we only need to look at the list for all your stuff and go shopping” Nero exclaimed. “ We can go tomorrow, I don’t think I can go shopping after Louis visited and gave me this mission.” Monica said in defeat.
The list with the tings she need is as follows:
- Uniform:
- Three sets of plain work robes (black)
- One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
- One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
- One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)
- Please note that all student’s clothes should carry name tags at all times
- Books:
- The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1 by Miranda Goshawk
- A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot
- Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling
- A Beginner’s Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch
- One thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
- The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble
- Other Equipment:
- 1 Wand
- 1 Cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
- 1 set of glass or crystal phials
- 1 telescope
- 1 set of brass scales
- Students may also bring an Owl OR a Cat OR a Toad
- PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS.
“Looks like I can come witch you Monica” “ Y-Yes looks like it” Monica said with a weak smile while staring at the word wand. “ I don’t need a wand do I Nero. I can just do the spell without ever speaking.” “Monica, you and I know that for this mission not having a wand Is not an option.” Nero said.
With a deep sigh Monica stood up and gathered her list with what she need and did it back into the envelope so that she does not lose it. “ Le-lets go to bed, I don’t think I will survive tomorrow.”
Monica got ready for bed and set an alarm for tomorrow. “ Goodnight Nero” “Goodnight Monica”
