Janana was visiting Whiskview for vacation. She knew her best friend Cherissa worked at the mall. Everytime she visited Whiskview, she would go to SmellBound just to see Cherissa. They would usually have small talk or try out testers together, usual bestie activities. However, this visit was gonna be different.
As Janana walked down the crowded area of the mall, she finally made it to SmellBound. She felt excited. She felt nervous. She had a lot of hope mixed with fear in her…
Cherissa saw her best friend enter, and greeted her normally like usual. She smiled and waved.
“Janana! Hi! So great to see you again.”
…Janana loved seeing her smile. She loved her voice. She loved…everything about her. It made her feel warm, nervous and happy.
Cherissa noticed her nervous expression. She immediately got concerned.
“Are you okay? Whats wrong?”
Janana cleared her throat. This was the perfect opportunity.
“…Cherri..um…theres been something I’ve been meaning to tell you..” she said nervously. Cherissa became interested, letting out a hum. She listened.
“C-Cherissa…we’ve been best friends for..a long time now. You’re an…amazing friend. You’re always there for me when I needed it the most, and…you just make me so happy.
As the years went on, I had…feelings for you. They became stronger for months, and…I…I finally mustered up the courage to tell you this.
I know I should’ve asked you earlier, but…
…Cherissa, will you be my girlfriend?”
Silence fell between the two, aside from the loud background noise. Cherissa finally spoke up, her voice somewhat shaky.
“Meet me outside, 9pm.”
That immediately made Janana’s heart drop. She
started to overthink. What if she rejects? What if she doesn’t take her seriously?
TIMESKIP TO 9PM
Janana drove back to Whiskview Mall. As she was about to get out, she saw Cherissa running over to her. Her appearance alone made Janana nervous again. Cherissa stopped, panting.
“Jan…I…I don’t have a ride home..”
“..you didn’t take your car?”
“Wendy is fixing my car, and it won’t be done until Sunday. Can I get a ride with you tonight?”
Janana’s eyes widened, and her lips grew into a huge grin. She bounced in her seat, and immediately let her in.
“Yes, YES, of course!! Come in!!” She said excitedly.
As Cherissa came in , she looked over at Janana. Her expression was unreadable.
She then pulled and wrapped her arms around her waist, then pressed her lips against hers. Janana was surprised, but quickly got used to it. Janana could taste her lip balm, even her tongue…it all tasted like sweet cherries. Cherissa could taste…something else sweet in Janana. She almost tasted like a yummy pastry of some sorts.
Five minutes later, they finally parted, collecting their breaths from the unexpected session. It was silent for a moment, then Janana spoke.
“Um…Cherri, do you-“ Cherissa cut her off.
“-Be your girlfriend?
…yes. Of course I’d love to, Janana.”
Janana was relieved, but still a bit dazed after the makeout session. Janana gave her one more kiss on the cheek, before before starting the car and driving home.
