"Damn"

Was all she could think of right now.

With her head gushing with blood and tears involuntarily streaking down her cheeks she could barely think of anything else to say.

She chose her battles wisely, knew when to back down and when to take a hit and quit before the second swing, but this time she didn't think about how the outcome would go.

Perhaps it was because of their tone, or maybe the person who they were badmouthing that made her lose her temper and wit. All she knew was that she had to go in swinging.

"Cipher!" A voice she was all too familiar with came rushing through her ears like a melodic chorus of a symphony.

Her figure drops down beside her, her vision was blurry but she could still recognize that bubblegum babe anywhere.

"Heya… Cinny." She coughed into her hand as she wheezed out each word. As she looked at her hand a blot of blood seemed to stain it, probably from internal wounds, she would have to find a way to excuse it for something else when she see Aglaea later on.

"Shouldn't you be at Prof Nex's lecture right about now..? Haha…" she tried to make it seem like the injuries weren't as bad as they looked, though trying to fool the girl with a doctor as a father was nothing but a wish.

"Don't talk." She replied sternly, checking her thoroughly for injuries. Her warm hands worked their way through her body like clockwork, she's seen her do this before and its always fascinated her as to how she just knew how to do all of this.

Suddenly she stood up, "can you walk?" She asks gently.

Cipher tries to get up on her feet, she stumbles slightly but manages to stand on her feet. Hyacine takes one of her arms and hangs it around her neck to help support her girlfriend as they walked to the infirmary. It was a little awkward to see the shorter girl being used as a beam of support for Cipher who was much taller than she is but they made it work.

Soon enough they were able to get her to the clinic.

Hyacine instructs Cipher to keep still as she laid her down on one of the clinic's beds, taking the one nearest to the entrance for convenience.

For a while it was quiet, with the only sound being that of the cabinets being opened and closed as Hyacine rummaged around for items that she needed to patch her up and the buzzing of the air conditioning that kept the annoying ringing in your ears from coming.

It was quite nice being in the clinic, sometimes she would use it as an excuse to be with her girlfriend. Knowing her schedule and all she would stage an injury just so she could see her that day.

Cipher pouts just thinking about it, Hyacine being in different classes as her always bummed her, it was like the universe knew not to place them in the same room or else no work would be done by either party.

Well, thats an exaggeration. It would mainly be her who wouldn't get anything done. Miss diligent Hyacine knew well to ignore her flirtatious advances whenever she was on duty, as she should. Though she hated being ignored so she always made sure to get as much attention from her as soon as they both got out of school.

Soon enough Hyacine was back by her side, she began to clean her wounds, dressing them in gauze with quick sucession. Her hands steady against her head and chest, the slight pressure she brought gave her a sense of comfort amidst the disorienting pain she felt.

"Now tell me Cipher," she said, "what happened?"

She hesitated to say anything, she knew that Hyacine had no qualms against what people said about her, that people had opinions. But she wasn't Hyacine.

"…they were making fun of you." She said after a long pause.

She sighs, applying betadine to some smaller cuts across her body. "Ciphera, you know I dont care what others say about me."

"But, I do." Cipher sat up, her vision much clearer now. She saw Hyacine's face, full of love and worry for her. She knew she shouldn't be feeling this but she actually felt proud to have gotten the girl to feel this way about her.

Hyacine kisses her cheek, "I know you do, but that doesn't make it any better." She frowns, "seeing you beat up like this, it pains me."

"Am I just supposed to let them talk shit about my girlfriend while in my presence?"

"I'm pretty sure they said it to rile you up."

She packs up the rest of the equipment she'd been using into what she believes to be their proper place and sat beside her on the bed stroking her hand in gentle silence that lingered between the two of them.

"You think Agy would think of this as a slight injury?"

She giggles, "absolutely not."
