Work Text:

“Marc, come on!” Smiled Nath, overjoyed to be running round the forest, partner by his side.

Carpets of flowers trailed the two in their path, following each of their footsteps across the moss floor beneath. Dappled light shone a halo around their heads, guiding the two over and around branches, leaves and stems.

“Wait for me!” Responded Marc, approaching and taking his love's hand. “These are for you!” He spoke as he passed across a small bouquet of pink and blue forget-me-nots.

Nath beamed at the floral arrangement which he was being gifted. The sunlight which passed down allowed the twinkle in his eyes to shine brighter, showing the adoration which came for his boyfriend.

“Oh, Marc!” He joyed, looking upwards to the emerald eyes he loved, standing on tip toes and placing a small kiss on the other's forehead. “Thank you!”

The blue haired smiled, happy to see his partner so happy.

They continued to run through the woods, not having a care where they were going. Over logs and rivers they passed, each dew drop of the chilled morning reflecting crystal like rays around them.

Ziggy and Orikko followed behind, enjoying the spring air and the chance to run laps round each other, occasionally coming to rest on their holder’s shoulder.

“Look over there!” Shone Nathaniel, pointing over to a small opening, “that looks like a great place to stop!”

The dark hair nodded, falling back onto the ground, the tufts of green flowing over him. Nath followed suit, laying next to him, his arms spread out like a starfish on the ground. Marc slung his bag onto the ground, the contents spilling out in the process; a few notebooks, pens and pencils.

“Look at the clouds!” Beamed Nathaniel after a short pause, pointing upwards into the blue. “That one is shaped like a heart!”

Marc giggled, agreeing with what his partner had seen. “And that one looks like a bee!” He added.

Morning passed, the sun moving overhead, the shadows cast by the light shifting and morphing around them in a circle. Leaves occasionally fell onto them, coming down from the overhead foliage, the pink hues guiding their direction.

Marc and Nathaniel continued to lie on the ground, enjoying the warmth of the day, letting their kwamis spend some time outside together. Occasionally one would point out an overhead bird which was flying by, or the occasional butterfly which floated above. But mostly they sat together in the quiet. Only the animals calling in the background and the rustle of twigs and plants.

The hushed tone wasn't uncomfortable. It allowed them to stay in one's warmth without feeling they had to make constant conversation.

“Could anything be more perfect than this?” Smiled Marc, turning over to look at his boyfriend.

Nath looked over at him and nodded, taking his partner's hand and caressing his thumb over it. “Nothing can be more beautiful than this.”

“It's as if it's a fairy tail!” He beamed.

“Like magic!” Agreed the red haired.

“Just us together.” They said in unison.
