Sunflowers and Dandelions

Summary:

Some stories are not told, sometimes they remain hidden among the most significant and simply happen.

Only four children with the longing for freedom, to feel the fresh air on their faces, to feel the grass under their bare feet. Nothing of stealing wands nor fulfilling the vengeful and capricious wishes of their parents.

Only four children with the desire for freedom.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Some time ago, when Bella and Beast got married, instead of having a honeymoon like any normal human couple, they traveled from kingdom to kingdom to sign a great peace treaty that would eventually lead to what is known today as the United States of Auradon.

At that time, not all kingdoms were completely accessible. The Land of Wonder was isolated, and a handful of others preferred to keep their crowns separate, although in relative peace. Then there were the wild lands, beyond the wall and known to humans as the Frontier Lands, where animals could be more reasonable than anywhere else and even form entire kingdoms.

When Bella and Beast arrived at the Savannah, they not only offered the opportunity to join their great kingdom, but also provided the chance to live among humans.

"Bibidi Babidi Bu." And with a wave of the wand, animals could now transform into humans whenever they wanted, bringing back a magic that had been lost since the times of Merlin. They showed them a different life, where problems like failed hunts or lack of prey were no longer a burden, and they adapted.

The only request from the young king Simba was justice, if possible, the only thing he wanted was true justice. Those who helped Scar to devastate the savannah and break the cycle of life should be punished along with him.

Just as others saw their lives move to the middle of the sea, we did too. From night to day, the vast and unstable elephant graveyard terrain, once a hot and dry savannah, was no longer there, but an island surrounded by saltwater.

A just punishment in the eyes of those who sought justice. The difference with others is that they never taught us to be human. They took away our strength in our feet to pursue prey, our claws and teeth that tore flesh and kept us alive, our fur that protected us.

For us, those more conscious animals beyond the border and some humans, becoming like them was not a gift, but a much worse punishment than death.
