Chapter Text
Erisse was starting to get suspicious, her crab was acting off, yes you read that right their crab. Their crab with a knife if you wanted to be specific, his name was Stabby. Anyway, Stabby has been weird recently. There was a lot of attitude, Stabby would still listen, but he would always give Erisse a look before proceeding to do anything. Even Alleria started noticing:
“Champion, is there something wrong with your crab?”
“What is that supposed to mean Alleria, do you have a problem with my crab?”
“No- of course not, it is a very good crab- I was simply commenting on the looks it has been throwing at us.”
Stabby proceeded to give a death glare, his knife gleaming in the light.
“Ok, maybe something is up with my crab.”
Alleria wasn’t sure what to think at this moment. To be honest she didn’t tend to think about crabs until recently, she blames the Champion for this. Speaking of the Champion, or Erisse if she could recall, was a void elf like herself. Though they both may be void elves, and were both fond of ranged weapons.
And then the crab happened.
Alleria did not like to think about the crab.
Erisse was an amazing marksman.
And then the crab happened.
Most of Alleria’s thoughts revolved around that crab.
This is concerning.
One day, when Erisse went to the auction house, she asked Alleria to watch the crab. Alleria being the great teammate she is, agreed.
“What is your deal?” She said, to the crab.
Stabby just stared at her, knife in claw. (the author had to google if crabs had claws, they do, the author is not an idiot, make this an end note)
“I am talking to a crab, what has my life come to?” Alleria was pretty sure she was starting to lose it, it was a wonder she had stayed sane this long anyways.
“I am not sure,” a voice said.
Wait, who else was here? Alleria looked around, she must be hearing things. Honestly, hearing things and the void tends to go hand in hand these days. Alleria leaned against the nearby wall, closing her eyes.
“Really, I bother speaking to you and I don’t get a reply.” The voice spoke again.
“Well who are you first of all.” Alleria rubbed her head.
“Look in front of you.”
Alleria looked down at the crab .
“You are the one who is speaking?!” She replied, well past the absurdity of this situation, and more curious if wary of the crab.
“Yes, you should consider yourself privileged, I don’t make a habit of speaking to mortals.” The voice- no the crab, said.
“How are you talking?”
“Does it truly matter? No one will ever believe you.”
The crab didn’t say another word.
Erisse returned shortly after. “Thanks for keeping an eye on him, Alleria! Hopefully he behaved.” They looked towards the crab, “You were well behaved for a friend right?”
Alleria opened her mouth to speak, as she did the crab glared at her, as if challenging her to say something. “He was a perfectly good behaved crab-”
Erisse just smiled, “Well thanks again!” And with that the two of them walked off.
I need a drink , Alleria thought.
