Chapter Text
myung gi opened his eyes, the last thing he remembered was getting into a black van due to him needing money. he groaned as he got up from the bunk bed. his obsidian black eyes looked around slowly, there was many people in this area.
what type of ‘game’ did he have to play to earn money? he sighed as he sat down on the bed which was apparently assigned to him once again. then suddenly he saw pink. pink uniformed masked people. what kind of nonsense was this? he hadn’t signed up for a damn costume party. everything has a reason myung gi, he reminded himself as his eyes locked onto pink uniformed people. after some explaining they did to them they lead them into this strange place.
myung gi stayed grounded, at the very back of the crowd. he didn’t know what he would face, he had to think, to plan. his eyes once again wandered around the room, however this room was.. much more colourful. the raven-haired man kept gazing around until someone who was infront of the crowd shouted, myung gi’s attention instantly switched to him. “DO NOT MOVE WHEN ITS RED LIGHT!” the man shouted, myung gi raised a brow. were they playing some kind of children game? he scoffed his annoyance hitting out.
“THEY WILL SHOOT YOU!” with that sentence the man said myung gi’s eyes instantly widened. a few cruel comments followed after the man’s sentence. he must be lying to get all the prize money right? after all this was a game as he was told. he just shook his head as the man *forcefully* was taken back to his place. the game started, it was a basic game of red light and green light which everyone had played at least once. myung gi slowly but cleverly slipped forward. thinking by logic, the first one who got to the finish line should take all the won, right? while he was lost in thoughts a loud gunshot was heard. myung gi almost flinched, his eyes turning to look at what happened. a girl was shot, the man wasn’t lying?
suddenly panic filled the area, quarter of the people tried to run away, back to the door that they entered. don’t move, don’t even blink, move and you’re dead. myung gi stayed still as a rock. “green light.” as soon as the boy heard that - he dashed forward - the same guy that had made the warning before the game had started making lines of people, keeping them in check. myung gi quickly joined one of those lines. “move.” he demanded to the man who was in front of him. the man started moving faster in panic. they were going good thanks to that guy. “red light” myung gi’s heart almost stopped as he heard that, however thankfully his feet stopped along and he stopped moving.
they were all going to survive and get out of here in this case.. but what about the money.. no, worry about the money later myung gi - come to your senses, he thought to himself once again. well, some people had other plans about.. surviving. in a blink of an eye more than half of the people in the line next to them was laying on the floor, getting shot one by one. myung gi’s heart started beating faster, what had caused this? what was happening? then his eyes locked onto the ‘suspect.’ his heart was drumming now, thanos? the thanos he owed money to? what was HE doing here? fuck. fuck. fuck. myung gi started panicking. he can’t do anything to me, right? i’m far away from him. “green light.” myung gi quickly got away from his order, and dashed forward.
most people were panicking, stressing and dying. however a little amount was still in order, playing the game, myung gi was one of those people. he needed to be perfect, to be excellent. he needed to stay alive. sweat started dripping from his forehead without him even noticing. he let out a shaky breath.
blink, that man yelling instructions again. blink, thanos still pushing people and hopping around like a toddler. blink, a familiar brown hair with yellow tips. blink, forget about following instructions. myung gi’s eyes sharpened as he heard “green light.” he inhaled deeply allowing his lungs to fill with air, then sprinted as fast as his legs could move, he threw himself across the finish line. he was on the ground, panting, gasping for air, his lungs were absolutely burning, his throat felt ice cold. then he quickly regained his composure, don’t look weak myung gi. thats why you are here in the first place, because you’re WEAK.
he stood there and watched others cross the finish line one by one. he wasn’t the first but not the last either. after some blood and some victory screeches the guards lead them back to the room where they had woken up the furious voting myung gi was heading towards his bed once again, however something stopped him, a glint of someone familiar.
“junhee?!” myung gi’s voice instantly raised as he saw his.. partner? well ex partner? it was quite complicated however the raven-haired boy still viewed her as a partner to him. he quickly walked to her then checked if she was fine. “why are you here?” he asked instantly - the least thing he was expecting was junhee backing away and speaking harshly. “why do you care?” she asked him, and at that moment myung gi’s stomach dropped. right. he had left her and not picked up her calls because he was being chased by about 20 men, for both of their safety he stayed away. “oh come on don’t give me that no-“ myung gi groaned, but his sentence was cut off. “i called you everyday, 6 times, each day.” she continued frowning.
“look junhee i know i messed up but it was for your safety!” he protested with a whiny tone, trying to justify his actions. “save it.” she responded. “i am here to earn money for my baby and me.” with that the boy’s shoulders dropped down. “what.” was the only thing he could say. “you’re pregnant?” he added. junhee nodded looking at her own belly, myung gi knew damn well it was his. thats why she was constantly calling him probably. “we need to get you out of here.” he spoke strictly. “i don’t need your pity.” she snapped back then turned away and began walking. “junhee!” myung gi called after, desperation evident in his tone. she paused but didn’t look at him. “if you care this much you should’ve picked up my calls.” she spoke harshly then walked back to her bunk. “fuck.” myung gi cursed under his breath. yeah, fuck. the only person who he loved hated him now.
“damn that must’ve hurt mgcoin.” a voice lurked after him. myung gi’s head instantly turned back his eyes shifting uncomfortably. he knew that nickname, he knew exactly who it was. the “legend” thanos. “i didn’t expect to see your shithead here.” thanos continued with a sly smirk, however anyone could hear the anger in his voice. “you have bills to pay MY BROTHER!” the mauve haired boy yelled. myung gi kept his silent composure. he also didn’t move or flinch he just continued to give him a cold stare. “PAY ME MY MONE-“ “fuck off thanos.” myung gi cut him off by cursing at him. he saw thanos’ shocked expression and his small eye twitch - the raven-head felt proud his dull eyes still looking at him.
then he slowly turned away. “HEY MGCOIN!!” Suddenly thanos yelled his nickname out. as soon as myung gi turned back to him thanos punched his face, brutally, harshly. myung gi collapsed falling onto the floor, his nose was bleeding. his cheek was sore however he managed to keep a stoic glance not showing any weakness. then suddenly an announcement came; “please get ready for the next game.” were the words that saved myung gi from getting even more beaten up. he watched thanos scoff at him and mutter a “this isn’t over” before he dashed forward letting out weird sounds, his “ally” number 124 following right behind him. myung gi frowned, his face was hurting, everything was hurting. he took a deep breath and followed the other players.
