Moving the cursor of his mouse with the movement of pale hands, Grian clicked the tab he saw that read "email" before continuing on, reading the title of each email he saw in his inbox, Grian took his hand off the mouse he once held, lifting the pale limb up to bis equally pale face, he rubbed the brown eyes underneath the glasses he wore.
Grian didn't particularly wish or want to check his usually clear empty email, but given the current track record and reliability of his so called team, he somehow knew he had to/was forced to - the number of "ghost hunters" by Grians side and helping him at locations had rathar quickly dwindled recently, apparently they all - well most of them, had caught some form of illness or sickness one by one, staring with impulse - and now, according one of the first and most recent emails his cursor hovered over and clicked, ending in Scar - at least for now - Grian clicked off the email in front of him and drifted his cursor down each of his new emails, counting them mentally in his head - he counted four, and given GIGGS was a five person team including him - he was alone. Every one else - you know, everyone besides/but him were ill, fantastic.
Grian clicked the X button that closed his previously open browser, taking his hand off his mouse once again and reaching to place a finger on the computers "off" button with said pale hand
The bright screen dimmed, darkening fully as Grian took the moment to swirl his spinning chair opposite to the device and desk, taking a stand to his feet, Grian took steps to his office rooms light switch, the rooms bright and powerful light being overruled and overturned drastically by the darkness and absence caused by Grians pale finger flipping the switch near the door a certain way, moving his hand to the door knob in front of him and creeping the door out of his office open to step through.
Grian hurled his vans - or well, more like the van his team all share in borrow from the company his team GIGGS worked for - trunk open, heavy items held in his arms grasp - it was less than usual sure, after all he currently only needed to carry supplies and equipment for himself alone.
He hadn't been alone on a mission in years since he first got there, after his training he was pretty much immediately swept up into a new team - apparently, from what he had been told/what he had heard around the office building, that was - or was close to? - the quickest someone had been assigned and put into a team after their training was complete/finished - minus those who had their team mates as they're friends prior.
Actually it was funny, to Grian and Grian alone at least to mention that now that he thought about it, given the fact that
- nevermind
Grian opened up the vans white door, opening up the driver's seat to himself/for his easy access, taking a step up, he landed his pale body conveniently placed on top of the vans front seat. Grian plunged the required seatbelt firmly in place, his pale hands gripping the wheel as he prepared to start the van up, ready to move and go
Pulling in the unfamiliar houses Gray and concerte driveway, Grian slammed his foot on the vans breaks, slowing and eventually managing to stop the car before he smashed it into the house before him or before something drastic could take even a chance to happen. Grian unplugged the seatbelt previously held across his body, moving out and up from his seat and around to the back of the burrowed van
Opening the back door wide open in order to scoop up his equipment into his pale arms hold/grasp, Grian didn't grab all the equipment he had prepared at first, only grabbing a hold of three items to begin with, the emf reader, the thermometer and his favourite out of the gear, the spirit box - Grian wasn't usually held responsible for the first two, maybe on the rare occasion he was, but that responsibility usually fell on someone else - but Grian didn't have "someone else", so now that responsibility was all on him - everything was on him right now.
The thought, the weight truly behind his conditions and thoughts, it was almost suffocatingingly stressful to Grian, if he messed up his mission... the higher ups ate almost certainly going to put all the blame on the whole team, not just Grian, even if the blonde protested otherwise.
Grian didn't want the others, his friends to get caught up in trouble because of his own shortcomings, it just wouldn't be right
So, with the emf reader switched to its on state, held in his left, pale hand, and glass thermometer in the other, he opened up the houses front door, struggling with his hands currently full but eventually finding just enough empty space in one to make it just slightly work his own way, he used said free space he found in his hand prior to get the light switch to the living room to switch on, lighting up the dedicated space.
Grians dark, browned eyed gaze lowered to the glass thermometer held in his right hand - knowing the emf would make noise if it were to go off at any stage. He kept his eyes glued down, the temperature he read was a bit below the usual temperature. Grian took a mental note of the reading, moving and manuvering around the admittedly quite cluttered and rathar messy furniture and floors of the living room, his focus mainly stuck on trying to find any lower readings, but he never did, it stayed and staked its place where it sat, but it never faulted lower - even as Grian progressed and entered the houses other rooms
Although the thermometer was a bust, an utterly, complete waste of his time - there was still at least some form of hope in Grians ability to find the ghost occupying this house when the emf reader sparked up, a noise emerging from jt - the hallway is where the noise first started to begin, closest to and nearish the master bedroom, the emf read three.
Grian didn't choose to check the bedroom first, he'd return to there if his walk down the other side of the hallway revealed he had to in the end.
The emf went to two briefly mid walk as he contained to walk away from the bedroom, although Grian couldn't explain the reason behind the sudden, random reading mid walk - a reading that didn't even last a mere minute before disappearing without a second or a trace, like it was a whisp, a whisk in the wind that merely didn't matter the slightest anymore
It especially didn't matter after Grian had eventually managed to take steps to the end of the hallway and happened to see absolutely nothing in his brown searching gaze
Grian took a turn back around, his pale body twisted to return the direction he just came from - he should've checked the bedroom prior to the hallway, it would've definitely had saved the blonde alot more time and, quite honestly, more patience, if he just had done so before.
He fasted/picked up his pace, impatience truly starting to fill him and tug at bits of his very mind.
The emf started making the familiar, usual noises as Grian made steps closer to the bedroom and its white, wooden door, Grian finally took his own pale right hand down lower into his black pant pockets, stuffing the glass thermometer that proved itself useless prior/beforehand, down into its new home and place, in his pocket. He raised the same pale hand from out of the contains of his pocket and placed it carefully onto/around the golden doorknob, pulling the door his direction in a successful attempt to work the door wide open.
Grian let his grasp leave the door, working through the new clear entrance, Grians gaze kept on the emf he held in his left hand, the noise of the emf raised, it increased - from three, rising to four and finally hitting its peak level, five, all in rathar quick succession, one after the other in rapid success. Grian took his brown gaze off the emf for what truly was a brief, quick second, his gaze dropping back to the emf as quickly as his brown eyes gaze snapped up again, something clicking in his mind that something was there - that he saw something during his quick glance up previously.
He couldn't help the steps in his tracks causing to move himself back, he tried and attempted his very best efforts to stay and stand up straight and proper, both of his pale coloured small hands gripping/clinged on tightly to whatever wall (or door/doorframe) happened to be placed closest to him
Filling any gaps previously held in his dark vison, the transparent but definitely visible, sight of a ghostly man stood before him, a familiar ghostly man.
Stood in front of Grian and the rooms entrance door, was the ever so familiar sight of Scar - his brown locks stuck, always ruffled charmingly, the gaze of bright, striking but stunning emerald coloured eyes glued kindly on staring back at the currently wide eyed avian, his smile, gentle, warm but always holding an upcoming, mischievous smirk at the tip of his lips at every small moment, all these features, every little detail about him looked exactly like his co-worker and friend, if you were to put the two, the ghost and Scar next to eachother, the only noticeable difference was that one was a ghost, and not wearing a shirt
And covered in horrible, messy as can be, scarlet stained blood
The ghosts "blood" mainly could be seen dripping from his transparent fists, evaporating at a certain distance before the blood dripped to the ground
The Scar before him, while others ran true to the real Scar he knew quite well already
This one - this ghost, wasn't him - Scar after all, was alive - at least Grian hoped he was - he's sick today that's for sure, but he's probably got his head rested in bed at his own home
No, this ghost was that of a - different Scar, Grian knew who exactly this was, what happened to cause the ghosts death
And it made the heart held in his chest beat roughly, faster than lightning, not earlier from his earlier startle but also because - this was... - how did - is it actually -
He knew this figure well, from third life
This was third life Scar - in the flesh - or well... in the spirit? Floating there
no doubts were even remotely close to filling his mind- he knew the tanned man all too well, he would recognise him I'm several heartbeats, like how the sun will always know the moon - Grian was confidently sure he knew who stood before him
His friend, his ally, his team mates from a series long back
A series of events Grian up to now at least, believed to be made up, all in his head - all until this very moment
But this, was real, this was actually real, it was undeniable - the ghost of third life Scar faced Grian face to face, the ghost of Grians past, his past in third life, was somehow back
And grian couldn't help but ask, be confused as to how or why
He knew everything else about the ghost, even the smallest minuet details he could reasonably remember if he scoured his memory long enough/enough time - filling out the details of the report in that regard was easy, but how was he supposed to know why the ghost was here when he couldn't even figure that out and had no clue himself - and don't even get him started on how he's somehow, like a miracle, here
"Grian?" The ghosts voice spoke with clear but soft, gentle confusion
