Chapter Text
"Good morning, Mustafa celebrates another bright summer day as August approaches. I hope all my little listeners out there are getting ready for their long vacation to be meeting its end. Remember to give it your best as you return to school as my alma mater boasts Go Plus Ultra! Now onto others news we see that..."
"Ugh," groaning as he wakes up, Izuku Midoriya must get up to go on his morning run. Turning off the radio Izuku groans out, “I forgot mom got me that radio to help get up for my training.” Bones creaking as Izuku gets up, he’s reminded why he gets up at five in the morning now. Turning on the light, Izuku is blinded by his new environment. While before the room used to be a shrine for his hero All Might, he now stands in a more modest room full of training supplies and some of his more precious All Might merch. While he still loved All Might, he couldn't expect his mom to pour all of their money into Izuku’s recent physical goals. Today was exactly one week from when he would have to return to school and finish his final year with Aldera Junior High. Looking into his mirror now that he took in the morning, Izuku sees a bit of his efforts begin to show. “I can’t believe I’ve finally gained weight,” stepping on his scale Izuku acknowledges that he has gained a modest two kilos, but for the first time in his life he didn’t feel like he would snap if someone were to... “Yeah, how about I just go on my run now.”
Stepping out into the nice cold morning he starts running. Keeping pace, he’s become familiar with everything that is just routine to him now. “I wonder if school will treat me better this year. I just need to study as hard as I can to be able to get into UA,” Izuku thinks about while turning to head towards an old childhood memory. Usually, Izuku keeps his jog the same running through the park near Mustafa beach before heading to get any groceries needed before heading home. Today, is a little different than usual as with the older Midoriya visiting a friend for a few days left Izuku all alone wanting to treat himself to leftovers. ‘Since I’m not in a rush for the morning discounts today on meat, how about I just go to the beach itself. I haven’t heard anyone really speak about it in a long time.’ Taking a dirt path instead of the main road should take him where he wants to go. “How long has it been since I’ve been on the sand,” slowing down his tempo a little. “Mom used to take me here all the time when I was young,” licking his lips he remembered he needs to drink water after. ‘The salt is making me really thirsty’. Izuku couldn't help but to speak out loud sometimes, "Must have been almost a decade ago. I’m pretty sure the photos of us at home are at this beach.” As the railing approaches Izuku braces to see a ghost of his past. A pure time before he was diagnosed as “different” is all he thinks about.
“Oh,” looking on the serene horizon of the rising sun it’s tainted by a massive landfill in its place. Inspecting this Izuku stops his jog and just looks at the mess. “Wow there's a whole kitchen in this little area alone,” stepping closer to touch the sand. Taking off his red shoes to touch the sand even if there’s only a little to touch. “Hmm, I never realized how nice it feels to have sand on your feet maybe this place ain’t to—ouch—I guess it’s probably not a great idea to not have my shoes on.” Looking at the beach Izuku realized that the trash he sees around him must have taken at least a decade to pile up. Noticing the waves bringing in trash didn’t help him try to pretend that it was manageable to clean up. Stepping on a thumb tack hurt enough that Izuku made his way back home with a walk after to make sure it didn’t get infected. ‘I guess the city really couldn’t keep up with the amount of natural waste that comes from the waves. Still though I can’t believe that place is so trashed up. Oh well, I guess that’s how it is. No point in trying to fix a problem I can’t.’ Walking a little more with the morning air and the cicada soundtrack left Izuku in blissful peace. ‘Maybe I should get myself a treat today at the mall, after all I doubt that anyone who knows me should be there. Yeah, I have been wanting tea and some melon bread. Or I can get myself some katsudon?’ With his mind made up Izuku stopped by his home to get the little wound cleaned up and made his way to the mall to enjoy some time to himself. Stepping out the door Izuku grabbed his notebook in case he spotted any heroes on the way and his wallet ready to enjoy his morning.
Sprawled out on her bed that would put kingdoms to shame for its sheer size, she begins to wake. Relishing the morning sun through her massive 6-meter window and parted coral blinds, she stretches as part of her trained routine. Taking notice to an alarm beside her bed which coincidentally isn’t ringing yet. “Urghhh, I can’t believe they let this happen,” grumbled an upset figure resembling a kraken on land as her hair was dismayed from her sleep. ‘I can’t afford to take breaks if I want to get into UA.’ Walking to the grand door to the dining room. She opens it with earned comfort, and she sees her two culprits. “Why did you two let me oversleep again,” bellowed out a drowsy Momo Yaoyorozu to her parents. Not wanting their daughter to be more upset the ever-loving father Hakuto Yaoyorozu speaks, “Momo, we’re sorry for not waking you up, but now that you’re here how about having some breakfast with us.” Looking at the clock Momo realizes that she is hungry as it is already 9:30 which does not work for her routine. Sitting down she then looks at her mom Kuroifu Yaoyorozu smiling down at her and notices a strand of her in front of her. Mirroring the jet-black hair and eyes of her daughter Kuroifu stands taller than both of her dear family. She is slim with a high-class fashion sense wearing an elegant crimson kimono that pairs with her long slender legs beautifully when getting up to inform her servant the youngest Yaoyorozu will join their breakfast. After that initial burst she is left embarrassed while her parents look at her fondly. Now that everyone is situated Momo thanks her servant and begins her modest breakfast of 3 grilled fish, eight scrambled eggs, and 4 plates of rice served topped with sesame seeds and avocado slices. Now that she has settled into her situation, she continues her initial crusade. “Mother...Father, I must ask why you are not supporting my ventures.”
“Oh, why do you say so Momo.”
“Mother it is the fourth Monday in a row that I have not been woken up on time for my training and studies. You know how much I need to push myself to get into UA. I have to-”
“-Momo. We love you and support you. But just because we support your goals does not mean we will let you throw everything else away to chase these goals. Your father and I still want you to have a life besides your goals. You know how hard it was to convince us that our lovely daughter should be a hero as her power, and her brain will save so many lives. While it makes us uncomfortable as we know the risks of this form of work given our company’s close ties to the hero world, we also know we need to mitigate all these risks. Especially, when I know that being a growing woman will place more pressure on you than ever. So please take this opportunity to rest as when you make it to UA, I doubt you will be complaining.”
“Mother I want to-”
“Momo I know you want to get your rebuttal but listen to what your mother is saying. I’ve been shutting off your alarms and telling the servants not to wake up until at least until 9:00 in the morning, so you can blame me if you want. I just want you to know that right now you’re still one year out from UA and a busier life, so don’t be too upset at either of us for what we decided to do. You need to rest, and you need to enjoy your youth. Your mother and I are lucky to have met each other young in this life we are given, so we did not have the same pressures you are likely to experience moving forward being a Yaoyorozu. Now if there is anything else you feel you need to say do it now or hold it in peace.”
“No father, I think that is all. Now that I am taking a day to care for myself, how about going on a trip to the mall so I can get ready for Mustafa Prep next week. After all I want to give the best impressions to others at school before leaving for UA.”
“That sounds great Momo”
“Oh, perfect we can-”
“Unfortunately, while you do deserve rest it is Monday, and your mother and I do have a company to manage.”
“We’re sorry honey, but we do have other responsibilities to take care of today. If you would still like we can send Suji with you.”
“Hmmmm, I wanted to go with you two,” pondering Momo wonders if she needs anything before school starts again, “But I wouldn’t mind getting more of my favorite tea, and maybe more hair pins.” Finishing her thoughts Momo gives her father puppy dog eyes to sell her point.
Looking at his daughter, Hakuto knows that his daughter is just trying to use her disappointment to get more of her favorite tea, so that she can keep pushing herself. Sharing a glance with his snickering wife he decides it's better for him to accept his position. “Alright dear, just let me tell Suji to get the car ready for your trip. However, I want you to enjoy yourself, so you must not return until at least two past twelve. Oh also, make sure to bring the melon bread your mother enjoys from Ms. Shmi’s Bakery.” Adding to this Hakuto hands over a black card from his wallet.
An excited Momo exclaims, “Thank you, father and mother, I will try to enjoy myself to the fullest on my little trip. I will try not to go too overboard with the shopping,” pacing around while combing a finger through her hair, “Oh, and if there is anything you need from the area call me, okay.” Looking at her parents contently she finds a sudden excitement in her trip. Her parents only see their little girl excited about something besides her self-imposed responsibilities and
Now as the loyal servant/butler/driver/bodyguard/good friend Suji walks up to inform the family the car is ready, the trio all hug each other. Waving goodbye, it seems as though today was going to be more than just training for Momo Yaoyorozu.
