It was surprisingly difficult navigating through the adventures Caine put you through when you had human hair. Actually, let's rephrase that; his adventures are already difficult, but having hair like you did before you entered just added another layer to the difficulty. Being thrown around and drowned, shocker, wasn't very good for keeping your hair nice and pretty.
After each and every day, you would spend probably hours brushing the harsh tangles out of your mane, painfully pulling your head away from the brush in an attempt to free it from the knots in your hair. It never worked.
Bur somehow, Ragatha always managed to untangle your locks within minutes, her gentle hands working wonders on your scalp. After a while, it eventually became a habit to just let her do the brushing at the end of the day.
Ragatha sat on the edge of her bed and you sat between her legs, your back pressed against her covered shins. There was always a method she chose, separating chunks of hair and working with them individually, never brushing too harshly or impatient like you did, almost coaxing the strands to unravel with each soft pull.
There have been several times you fell asleep on her legs when she brushed your hair. You always denied it when she would nudge you awake, and she would giggle to herself and continue working her magic on your head while you tried your hardest not to drift off again.
Today's adventure had been especially hard on you. It was a southern themed adventure, and in the middle of riding horses and shooting down bad guys, the group was caught in a violent dust bowl. By the end of the adventure, you stepped out of the portal with sand and dirt caught in your hair and probably other places too.
The others didn't nearly half as bad as you did. Zooble was knocking dust out of the holes in their body, Jax just shook himself like a wet dog to get the sand off of his fur, and the others didn't seem affected by it at all. Even Ragatha didn't look that bad afterwards, simply brushing her dress with her hands and stepping off to her room, you following in tow.
"You really got thrown around today, huh?" Ragatha asked, her plush hands gently combing out the smaller tangles at your ends. You could only hum meekly in reply, relaxing yourself against the glorified pillow that was her legs. Everything hurt. Ow.
"Y'know," She absentmindedly began to pet your soft hair, smiling to herself, "you did amazing today. I never knew you were so good with a lasso."
"I'm surprised I caught Kinger in time, honestly." You chuckled through your nose, thinking back on the adventure. It was one of those typical 'damsel in distress' ones, running around the map to try and save an unfortunate circus member from capture. For some reason, Caine decided the best fit for a damsel would be Kinger. He was shockingly good at playing the part, too.
"Don't say that, you did great!" She leaned forward and rested a plush hand on your shoulder, gliding her thumb across your skin.
"What?" You laughed, "He's like the perfect shape to lasso - there's no way to mess it up!" That seemed to get an adorable chuckle out of her, her arms wrapped around your neck, gently embracing you.
"... You also looked pretty good in those flared chaps you wore..." Ragatha muttered against your hair, twirling a strand around her index finger. You smiled, feeling a familiar, loving warmth grow in you.
"And you look good in blue." You turned around and rested your chin on her knees, taking her hand in yours. Ragatha paused for a moment, filling the air with a flustered laugh.
"But I always wear blue?"
"Oh- yeah. Right. Ha." Ragatha burst out laughing, though it wasn't directed at you. You had a way of perfectly fumbling your words that she simply adored.
By the end of the night, you had already fallen asleep on her thighs, but Ragatha didn't mind as she placed a soft kiss on the top of your head, letting her back rest against the mattress as she closed her eye. She'd never tell you this, mostly because of how much it would embarrass her, but this was her favorite part of the day, by far.
