Work Text:
As padawans, you and Obi-Wan were always closer than normal. Your friendship was a special bond written in the force, but it never went further than that. Just friends, and you saw nothing wrong with that. Now as Jedi masters you didn't see each other too often. So, you were pleased to be sent on a mission with him. You were told to go to the lower levels of Coruscant and get information about the rise of sith lords. The mission started off simple enough. Both of you dressed in normal robes walking the streets. Occasionally going into bars to get what information you could. So far you haven't gotten much. Obi-Wan pulled you into an alleyway and pulled his hood down.
"We haven't been getting much data on the siths." He strokes his beard in contemplation.
"What do you suggest we do?" You ask quietly.
He thought for a moment, before a small smile appeared on his face.
"We need to go to the loading dock, I'm sure we can get some information there."
"They'd never talk to us."
"Not dressed like this." He gestures to the robes you and he wore.
"Please don't tell me we're going shopping."
Obi-Wan just smiled and pulled his hood back up. You followed suit as the two of you walked out of alley way and to the clothing store next door. There you two managed to find some fighter pilot jumpsuits and put them on. In the mirror in the dressing room you pulled your hair back into a tight bun. You two paid and then headed towards the docking area. Once at the docking area, you began to subtly question the men working on a ship. They didn't say much, just that they saw a droid leave the ship not too long before we arrived. Obi-Wan pulled you aside after that information.
"We need to get on that ship." He explains quickly and quietly.
"I mean no one is looking, I'm sure we could get on pretty easily." You whisper back.
He nods and you two look around. Not noticing anyone paying attention, you slip on board with no issues. Hallway after hallway you sneak around looking for clues. Finally, you find a room with files containing some Sith plans. Slipping them under the jumpsuit, you went to leave the room. Before you could, the handle started to turn. Before you could react, Obi-Wan pulls you into a supply closet that's next to the door. It barely fits the two of you, your faces inches away from each other. Your chests touching, both heaving from the thought of getting caught. You both stood there, staring at each other. That's when you take in his features for the first time in a while. His hair is a nice sandy blonde and it reaches his collar. His beard is full, and matches his hair. His features are older now, wiser almost. His eyes are a deep ocean blue, and you start to get lost in them. That's when you realize something, and your heart beat picks up for a different reason. Standing in front of you was no longer the young padawan you once knew. He's a man now, a general even. Commanding armies with only his words. In that moment you bet he looked hot doing it too. That thought caused your eyes to widen. Never once had you ever found Obi-Wan attractive. Not in the countless sparring sessions. Where in the end you both would collapse from exhaustion. Not during the times you'd sneak out together and roam the streets just talking about life. Strictly friends, that's the only bond the order would allow you to be anyways. Your eyes slowly drifted down to his lips, and he definitely took notice. When your eyes drift back to his, you take notice that he seems to be having the same trail of thought you had. Obviously you were no longer a padawan either. To him you looked more mature than ever, your hair as long as it's ever been. Your eyes bore into his, and the tension in the room becomes thick. His eyes trail down to your lips, and your heart races impossibly faster. You can feel his force signature reach out to yours. You welcome him in, your signatures wrapping together like a strong hug. That's when he began to close the small gap between you. Your eyes fluttered closed as his lips touched yours. They were soft and the kiss was gentle at first. His hand came up and rested on a shelf beside you, as your hands went to tug gently on the strands of his hair. The kiss deepened quickly, showing each other the feelings you had just realized. You both ran out of breath and pulled away. You both panted as you stared at each other, realizing what you had just done. It's not like either of you haven't broken the rule of attachment before, but never with a fellow Jedi. Before you can fully comprehend your actions, you hear the click of the door to the room shutting behind someone.
“Okay, we’ll wait a minute and then get out of here.”
You nod and wait for a moment. Once you determine the coast is clear, you both head out of the ship. After sneaking out you head back up to the Jedi temple to show them the document you had stolen. After the debrief, you headed back to your room. After hitting the refresher, there was a knock on your door. You open it to reveal Obi-Wan standing there. You invited him in, and he began to talk once you shut the door behind him.
“I'm sorry if I overstepped boundaries back at the ship.” He began, but you cut him off.
“No need to apologize. I wanted it as much as you did. As long as you did?”
Obi-Wan smiled softly and stepped closer to you. He tucked a stray hair behind your ear, and placed his other hand on your hip.
“I think I’ve wanted that for a long time, I just didn't know it yet.” Obi-Wan confessed.
“I feel the same way.”
He leans down once more, your lips connected in a soft but passionate kiss.
“Maybe we’ll have to do this more often then.” He suggests as he pulls away.
“Maybe we should.”
