“Hiiragi! Here, Hiiragi! Heeeeey!”
Kanon smiles and waves, peeking out from behind the door. It’s heavy and shrieks whenever it moves, but Kanon does his best to keep it as closed as possible. Wants to save the surprise for as long as possible.
Hiiragi smiles softly when he spots him, waving back at him. He’s so cute! And also so very handsome, with the leather jacket, leather pants on skinny long legs, and that tiny little butt.
Kanon calls out to him again, sees him sigh and swallow a pill before he starts walking towards him. It makes Kanon giggle, he’s missed him so much!
“Hey, Banjou.”
His voice is soft and smooth, washing over Kanon like a warm bath, like he’s hiding under a fuzzy blanket.
“Hi, Hiiragi! You’re perfectly on time, wow! I’m so excited, I’ve been thinking about this all week!”
“It’s good to see you.”
When he’s close enough Kanon grabs his hand, then grabs his forearm with the other.
“Are you ready for our date?”
“Are we going inside? Into this random… looks like a warehouse?”
Kanon nods, smiling wide. He pulls Hiiragi inside, letting the heavy door screech and close behind them. He’s almost shaking with excitement, and can’t look away from Hiiragi’s face because he just needs to see his reaction. Hiiragi looks confused, maybe a little surprised. He turns towards Kanon and Kanon can’t stop smiling. Hiiragi’s mouth opens but he still says nothing.
“Isn’t this wonderful?” Kanon prompts him, holding his arm tighter and leaning against him. Hiiragi always smells so good. “I thought we could take a nap! Together!”
It’s their second date and Kanon couldn’t think of anything more romantic to do than breaking into a warehouse full of coffins to take a little nap together. To be all warm and cozy and snug, holding each other so close. It’s the best idea he’s ever had, and there’s no one else he’d rather do this with than Hiiragi! It’s a surprise even to himself!
“How did you even find this?”
“Eh, that’s not important! Do you like it?!”
“It’s… exactly the sort of thing I would expect you to enjoy. I guess it’s… unusual, but sweet. I was surprised when you said we wouldn’t be fighting.”
Hiiragi looks at him so warmly, it’s disarming.
Kanon is not used to that kind of softness, but he’s learning just how much he likes it. It also looks really good on Hiiragi, maybe even more than the fury Kanon had been chasing for so long. It’s hard to compare Hiiragi’s sides because they’re all perfect.
Kanon just likes him so, so much.
“Hehe, c’mon, I already picked our perfect napping spot! It’s this way!”
He pulls Hiiragi deeper into the building, zigzagging between tall metal shelves and ignoring all the ladders and other dangerous places he knows would be fun to climb – he already had his fun when he scoped out the place every night since he found it! And he’s so giddy he’s afraid he won’t get sleepy enough for their nap!
Kanon points at all the coffins he considered for their nap and explains what’s wrong with them. Some are too small, others are too big, some cushions aren’t plush enough, some have a weird smell. Hiiragi listens intently, looking only slightly worried about the damage Kanon might have caused.
The closer they get and the faster Kanon drags him along, eager to finally lie down next to him. The perfect casket is made of a dark, reddish wood that looks like it absorbed so much blood, Kanon can’t help but find it so charming! And some of the decorations remind him of spikes, it’s like it was made for them.
“Here it is! That one, on top! Aaaah!”
Kanon climbs to the top of the shelf first, then looks at Hiiragi’s worried face rising closer.
“So, what do you think? Isn’t it pretty, Hiiragi? Do you like it? We don’t even need to squeeze in, isn’t this perfect?”
Kanon pulls the lid open to show off the plush pillows inside. He just can’t wait any longer! He removes his shoes, almost dropping them in his excitement, and steps in.
“Shoes off, okay? Naps need to be cozy!”
“…Sure.”
Kanon can’t contain his delighted giggling as he lies down and feels his body sink into the cushions – he already took a nap, alone and dreaming of holding Hiiragi close, and knows how perfectly soft they are.
“Not gonna lie, that does look very comfortable,” Hiiragi says.
Kanon catches his eyes and spots the same fondness as earlier. It makes him surprisingly shy. Makes him want to hide.
He does the next best thing: he busies himself with squeezing his body against side of the coffin and watches as Hiiragi takes off his jacket, revealing his very nice, very broad shoulders, and then delicately removes his shoes. He’s so handsome and so cute at the same time, so strong and precious, Kanon feels dizzy.
Then, with some awkward shuffling, Hiiragi joins him, and they end up face to face. Almost nose to nose.
Kanon’s heart beats so fast. Too fast. Definitely too fast for how still and quiet and not bloody they are. To be this close to Hiiragi and feel just as excited as when they’re giving it their all brawling… It’s almost too good to be true.
Kanon’s stomach twists, his body burns. He wants to kiss him, wants it really, really bad, but he’s suddenly scared by just how much he wants it. How intense it feels. Hiiragi blinks like he’s noticed – and even better, even worse, like he might do something about it – so Kanon turns his head, leans up and reaches for the top of the coffin.
“Sorry, I also wanna-” Kanon says as he pulls it over them. It filters out most of the harsh, white light and hides their faces. “There, now it’s perfect.”
With the cover of darkness, he feels bolder again. He wraps an arm around Hiiragi, presses them closer.
“We’re not going to get stuck in here, right?” Hiiragi asks. “It did look like it would be closed from the outside.”
Kanon shakes his head, giggling. If only! He’s fantasized about it in butterfly-inducing detail while he was testing out coffins, kicking his feet in delight from thoughts about getting to feel Hiiragi’s last breath, maybe even steal it for himself. Oh, how he wishes the lid would lock and trap them in, keep them together forever. The fantasy is even better now that he can smell Hiiragi’s cologne and feel his warm body. He’s sure he’d be brave enough to kiss him, then.
“Don’t worry, it doesn’t even close all the way. I might have broken it a little when I tried to open it the first time.”
“You sound a bit too sad about it.”
Kanon giggles again, lips brush against Hiiragi’s neck. “Well, I’d love to make it happen one day.”
“…I don’t think I like thinking that far. For now, I’m gonna set an alarm…”
Hiiragi leans back to do that, and Kanon gets to look at his sharp face illuminated by his phone screen. He’s so sharp and handsome and almost skeletal like this, looking like he’s Kanon’s own personal grim reaper. The thought makes him swoon and press his face in Hiiragi’s chest.
Putting his phone away, Hiiragi says, “Does thirty minutes sound good?”
Kanon hums, happily closing his eyes. He’s already planning to ask for five more minutes, many times.
He almost squeals when Hiiragi’s arms wrap around him again, then squeezes back even tighter. His chest bubbles with a mess of giddy feelings, but he figures it’s okay if they don’t nap at all and just hold each other.
He’s happy either way.
