But when that duty takes him to the beautiful Nightless City to investigate a brutal murder, he meets a mortician who is possessed by the loving spirits of those he buried. In Wei Ying's company, Lan Wangji's own spirit begins to grow restless and alive, and he starts to discover that he is starving too.
