Work Text:
“I don’t know what it is, Kwannie! I mean, is it me? Do I not put myself out there enough?”
“No, no, you definitely do, maybe a bit too much actually. You could use some shame.”
Soonyoung pinches her side, “I don’t need to hear that coming from you.” She clings onto Seungkwan’s arm, ‘Hansollie~ Let’s go here today!’ ‘Hansollie~ I packed lunch for you!’ “Hansollie–’
Seungkwan covers her mouth, “At least she and I are dating and not dancing around each other like a pair of peacocks!”
Soonyoung removes Seungkwan’s hand and pouts, “You’d think she’d get the hint, right?”
“Hm…Okay, don’t get mad…But have you ever thought that she might already know?”
Soonyoung gasps, “You think she doesn’t like me?”
“Soonie c’mon! Everyone can see you like her, it’s the same show everyday! You pull the same “Jihoonie~” stuff and she acts like she doesn’t even notice you. I have yet to see her look up from her phone when you crouch in front of her desk.”
“Yeah, but she’s so pretty up close.”
“Oh, you’re gone. She’s got you.”
“I wish! Y’know I bought new shoes and she didn’t even spare me a single glance!”
“Maybe she’s not into shoes.” Seungkwan shrugs.
“Okay, now you’re trying too hard to give me hope.”
“...Is it working?”
“You know it is, let’s go home.”
“We’ll have pizza for dinner.”
“Yay!”
—-
“When I wear a miniskirt. And walk on the street, All eyes are on me.”
“And he almost touched me!”
“Ew.”
“I know right, who does he think he is?!” Soonyoung takes another slice from the pizza box and takes a bite.
“Nobody important, that’s for sure. But hey, you know there are other girls in our class you could go out with.”
Soonyoung stares blankly at her, still chewing.
“What?” Seungkwan tilts her head.
Soonyoung calmly puts her unfinished pizza slice back in the box and grabs Seungkwan's shoulders.
“Why would you even say that?! You know my heart belongs to Jihoonie!” Soonyoung shakes her roughly.
“Okay! Okay!” Seungkwan holds her arms out, “You only have eyes for Jihoon unnie, I get it!”
Soonyoung crosses her arms with a “Hmph!”
“Okay, then what are you gonna do?”
Her arms drop,”What do ya mean?”
“You’ve been crushing on her since last year and you still haven’t gotten anywhere.”
“Oh, don’t remind meee.” Soonyoung whines.
Soonyoung sighs, “Kwannie, I can’t stop liking her. I’ve tried, but everytime I see her answer a problem correctly or flip her pen between her fingers as she reads or fuck, just sit there on her phone. I can’t help, but want to get near her. I always want to be near her.”
“....Oh shit….this is serious.”
“I told you soo!” Soonyoung whines while rubbing her face.
“We need to take serious measures.” Seungkwan gets up from the couch and speed walks to her bedroom closet.
“Where are you going?” Soonyoung leans over the couch, “Hey! What are you doing?!”
“You’ll see tomorrow.” Seungkwan mischievously rubs her hands together.
“Oh, you are such a loser.”
“Says You?!”
—-
“Okay, now I just feel stupid.” Soonyoung says as she looks in the mirror.
“No, no, Jihoon’s gonna lose her mind!”
“Kwannie, I’m not like you. I barely have an ass!” She turns around and pokes her butt out to the mirror.
“Okay stop, you’re gonna hurt yourself.” Seungkwan says as she straightens Soonyoung’s posture. “Look, just act natural. I mean she knows you, so you can just be your weird self.” She turns her, so she's facing the mirror, “Plus, Jihoon unnie has enough ass for the both of you.”
Soonyoung swats at her then straightens out her skirt.
The length isn’t her usual length. Actually, any length isn’t her kind of length, she’s more of a shorts kinda gal. But she needs Jihoon to get a hint. A big fucking hint.
“Soonie, straightening it won’t make it longer, it’s called a miniskirt for a reason.”
Soonyoung turns worriedly, “Omg, what if I bend over and my whole cheek pops out?”
“Well, just make sure unnie is behind you when it happens.” She shrugs and fluffs her hair.
That's her second swat of the day.
“How did you even get her to agree to come?” Soonyoung pouts.
“Her and Sollie are friends, remember?” Seungkwan says while sitting on the bed and applying her mascara, “I just asked Sollie to get her to agree and here we are.”
“Oh, she’s whipped.”
“And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Soonyoung nervously fidgets with her hands, “Does…Does she know I’m going to be there?”
Seungkwan looks away from her compact to look at Soonyoung, “Of course she does. We wouldn’t force her to come hang out with us, that’s scummy.”
Soonyoung nods, relieved, “Good, I don’t want to give her an even worse impression by coming uninvited or without her knowledge.”
Seungkwan puts her mascara and compact down and walks over to Soonyoung to cup her cheeks, “Calm down, okay babe? You’re worrying too much.”
“You know she does that to me.”
“You’re adorable, she has no reason to not like you.” Seungkwan kisses her cheeks, earning soft giggles in return.
Seungkwan steps back, “Okay now, lemme see you.” Soonyoung holds her hands behind her back, Seungkwan nods.
“Okayy, turn around and bend over.”
“Oh my god, Kwannie, don’t be such a pervert~ What would Hansol think?” Soonyoung playfully bends over.
“Oh, shut up, you know she wouldn’t mind. Anyways, yeah, it’s best not to bend all the way over.”
Soonyoung worriedly straightens her posture, “There’s a breeze back there, huh? Full moon?”
“Ehh not full, half moon I’ll say. But like I said, if unnie is behind you, don’t hesitate to have a full moon out in a clear sky.”
“I told you that’s not happening.”
“Only time will tell, now c’mon! Let’s go meet up with our girls!
—-
Why are malls always so fucking cold?
“Hansollie!!” Seungkwan bounces over to Hansol as soon as they spot the two girls in the mall.
Seungkwan insisted that Soonyoung go without a jacket under the guise of “The jacket would take away from the skirt! What would even be the point of wearing it then?!”
Soonyoung huffs and hugs herself for warmth. So distracted with trying to stay warm that she doesn’t even notice Jihoon sneaking up to stand right beside her.
“Hey.”
Soonyoung jumps and looks down, “Jeez, don’t sneak up on me like that, I’m vulnerable here!”
Jihoon gives her a once over, which Soonyoung’s body gives a completely normal shiver to. It’s from the cold, of course, “I can see that, cute skirt.”
Soonyoung, shocked that Jihoon is finally giving her some attention, giddily gives her a little twirl, “Ya like it? I borrowed it from Kwannie.”
“Yeah, did you choose the length too? Are you wearing safety shorts?” Jihoon looks at the skirt again.
“Hey, don’t ask that! What’s it to you?”
“I’m just wondering if you’re cold, but I can actually see icicles forming from here.”
“Oh, I’ll be fine. It’s only a little cold.” she lies, “What? You worrying about me, Jihoonie?~ Aw, so caring. ”
Jihoon kisses her teeth and pulls out her phone to check her notifications, “Sure, if that’s what you wanna think.”
Soonyoung pouts a bit at the change in attention, but she carries on, “That is absolutely what I wanna think, thank you!”
Soonyoung sees Hansol and Seungkwan start to walk further into the mall and Soonyoung begins to follow on their heels.
Jihoon puts her phone in her back pocket and follows right behind her. If her eyes are trained slightly downwards, that’s nobody’s, especially Soonyoung’s, business, but hers.
—-
“Kwannie, I’m begging to you, please don’t do this to me.” Soonyoung whispers.
“Soonie, literally how else are you gonna spend actual time with Jihoon unnie? If Sollie and I are floating around y’all, you’ll never get any quality time to seduce her!”
Soonyoung covers her mouth, blush high on her cheeks, “Don’t say that so loud! I am not seducing her!”
Seungkwan shoots her a “really?” look, an eyebrow arched.
Soonyoung removes her hand, “Okay…so maybe I’m seducing her..a little. Emphasis on the little!”
“Soonie, you let me paint your nails last night and you never let me paint your nails!”
“Yuh huh, yes I did! Remember that one time?”
“That one time being in fifth grade?”
“…”
“Yeah, get it together, girl.”
Soonyoung sighs and looks over at Jihoon and Hansol checking out different CDs.
“Kwannie.”
“Soonie.”
“…What if I make a fool out of myself?”
“Trust me, you already have BUT that’s your charm. You got this, Soonie.”
“Okay, okay. Check me?” Soonyoung steps back and Seungkwan checks her makeup and her outfit.
Seungkwan gives her a thumbs up, “Now if anything goes south, you come find Hansollie and I at the makeup store on the first level, okay?” Soonyoung gives her a nod.
“Okay then! Go get her, tiger!” Seungkwan gives her a slap on the ass of encouragement.
Soonyoung yelps, “Hey! Mini-skirt, remember?”
she scolds.
Seungkwan shrugs, “Couldn’t help myself.”
Seungkwan walks over to Hansol and tugs on her arm to pull her close. Soonyoung’s eyes narrow as Seungkwan whispers something into Hansol’s ear, resulting in a split second eye contact with Hansol before Seungkwan drags her out of the store.
Soonyoung peeks at Jihoon out of the corner of her eyes. Jihoon looks like she’s unaware of anybody else's presence, like it’s just her and the music as he bobs her head to the track playing through the speaker.
Soonyoung nervously plays with her nails, she shouldn’t bother Jihoon with her stupid crush when she’s in her element. It’s insensitive.
Soonyoung decides to look at the records. Does she have a record player? Absolutely not, but the records section is far from the CD section. Soonyoung needs complete space from her.
—-
Jihoon finally looks up and realizes that Hansol is no longer next to her.
….Actually Hansol and Seungkwan are nowhere to be seen. Where did they go?
Jihoon scans the store for any familiar face, only to find a familiar blonde, whose eyes are trained on a vinyl she can’t see from her distance.
She takes the cd she was looking at and debates if she should go over there or check out her CD and try to find Hansol.
She sighs and walks over to the other side of the store.
—-
Soonyoung lets out a small squeal when she spots a Shinee vinyl. She looks at it like she’s never seen anything about Shinee before. It’s always nice to remember and treasure physical media.
“You really like Shinee, huh?”
Soonyoung gasps, but settles when she sees who it is.
“Why do you like scaring me so much?”
“It’s funny to see how scared you get.” Jihoon gives her a mischievous grin.
“You’re so mean to me, Jihoonie.” Soonyoung whines as she continues to examine the vinyl.
Jihoonie clears her throat, mentally side stepping the nickname, “You have a record player?”
Soonyoung frowns, “I wish, but you know how expensive those things are? But I do have a really old CD player. She warps every cd she plays, but she has charm.”
Jihoon nods, hand tightening around the cd she picked up. “So you like any other genre besides K-pop or in Shinee’s case, K-rnb?”
“Oh, Hip Hop! y’know the 90s and the 2000s?” Soonyoung nods, “I like that as well. Rnb and Hip Hop go hand and hand, huh?”
Jihoon nods, “I’ve made a Hip Hop mixtape or two.”
“Really? I can never get it right when I do it…Kwannie just shares the CDs Hansollie made her.”
“Want me to teach you?”
Soonyoung pauses, “….You’d teach me?”
Jihoon looks at her shoes, “I mean…yeah.”
Soonyoung tucks her hair behind her ears, “I’d like that a lot. Thanks, Jihoonie.”
Jihoon looks up and shrugs, “It’s nothing, I taught Hansol how to do it and now all I hear is her making mixtapes for Seungie.”
Soonyoung scoffs, “Isn’t it annoying to you how lovey dovey they are?”
“What? You don’t think ‘Hansollie~’ and ‘Boo~’ are a cute couple?” Jihoon coos.
Soonyoung playfully pushes her, “Oh, shut up! They’re so sappy no matter how much they deny it.”
“Leaves a bad taste in my mouth too, who would want a person all up under them all the time, y’know?”
Soonyoung chooses her next words carefully because she wouldn’t mind being all up under Jihoon, “Well..at least they’re happy, right?”
Jihoon sighs, “Yeah, you should’ve saw the last guy Hansol was with, fucking prick.”
“And I have absolutely nothing nice to say about Seungkwan’s last crush.”
They both nod, a mutual understanding of protectiveness of their dongsaengs has been reached.
“Anyways, lemme go pay for what I have and you go wait out front.”
Jihoon walks away before Soonyoung can get a word in.
“Holy shit. I love it when she talks like that.” Soonyoung says to herself as she puts the vinyl down and walks (read: skips) to wait at the front of the store.
—-
“So, she said they’d be at the makeup store.”
Soonyoung and Jihoon scour the store looking for Verkwan to no avail.
“Where the fuck are they?” she mutters as she paces down the side of the aisles.
“Oooo, what a minute.” She sees a self full of eyeliner. “I’ve been meaning to get a new one. Should I get a new color or just black?”
“Are you done?”
“I swear we’re putting a bell on you, Jihoonie, but first, help me choose.”
“Seriously?”
“Yes, seriously. Now should I buy new eyeliner or new lip gloss?”
“Which one gets us out of here the fastest?”
Soonyoung has split second thoughts…flirt or not to flirt? If she plays her cards right, she gets a free eyeliner. Again…to flirt or not to flirt?
The answer is quite obvious.
Soonyoung makes a show out of looking at the two products then putting the lip gloss back on the self. She clasps her hands together behind her back.
“Y’knowww, it would be really nice if a certain really pretty, really handsome girl would buy me a certain product for a certain me.” she smiles wide, “Do you have any clue who this really pretty, really handsome girl could be?”
Jihoon looks at her and narrows her eyes. Soonyoung continues to smile.
Jihoon sighs and holds out her hand. Soonyoung gleefully places the eyeliner in her hand and has a pep in her step as she follows Jihoon to the cashier.
Good results so far. Maybe Soonyoung should wear more miniskirts?
—-
“There you are!” is the last thing Seungkwan hears before she feels a pull on her ear.
“Ow, what the fuck?!”
“You’re coming with me!” Soonyoung’s scowl turns into a smile as she turns to Hansol and Jihoon, “Just a moment, we’re gonna go to the ladies room. Be back soon.”
Soonyoung continues to tug Seungkwan towards the bathroom.
—
Soonyoung quickly checks under the stalls to see if anyone is with them, once she sees that it’s empty, Seungkwan speaks.
“Okay, what the fuck, Soonie??”
“No, don’t ‘what the fuck’ me! I’m ‘what the fuck’ ing you! Jihoonie and I checked the makeup store and you guys weren’t there! Why did you just leave me back there?”
“Ah…Well.”
Soonyoung crosses her arms, “Well?”
“Well..C’mon Soonie. We were waiting then Sollie said she was hungry. I wanted to wait, but she pouted at me and said we could come back after we eat.”
Soonyoung tries to smooth the wrinkles appearing between her eyebrows, “You are so weak.”
“Oh, you know I can’t help it when she pouts at me! Have you seen her pout?! That shit is deadly, it makes her get whatever she wants!”
“Okay, so why didn’t you go back after you ate?”
“Well, we were in the middle of eating before you rudely pulled me away.”
“Hey, no attitude, I’m your unnie.”
Seungkwan dramatically sighs,”Fine…I’m sorry, unnie for leaving you to your devices. Now…Can we talk?” Seungkwan perks up, “Oh my god, has anything happened between you and Jihoon unnie?”
Soonyoung looks around to make sure nobody’s coming in, “Okay..she basically told me she wants to marry me!”
“Unnie, be serious.”
“….She said she would help me make a CD mixtape and bought me eyeliner.”
Seungkwan nods, “Okay, no, knowing you and Jihoon, that’s basically a marriage proposal."
“I know right!! You always condone my pipe dreams.” Soonyoung hugs Seungkwan tightly.
Seungkwan kisses Soonyoung’s cheek, “So what now?”
Soonyoung leans back, “What do you mean?”
“Ya gonna ask her out?”
A shattering sound went off in Soonyoung’s mind.
“What?”
“Are you only known for pining? Just ask her out already!”
“What if she doesn’t even like me? This is serious!”
“She just said she would make you a CD and bought you eyeliner! That’s absolutely sapphic love!”
“But she said she did that for Hansol too! What if she’s just really nice and does that for all her friends?!” Soonyoung covers her face in frustration.
“Okay, well it is Hansollie.”
Soonyoung pauses and looks up,”Yeah, you’re right.”
“You can’t really tell Sollie no, I mean look at her.”
“No, I know what you mean. One time she pouted to get me to share my water bottle and I almost gave her the clothes off my back.”
“She has to learn how to control that. She can’t just go flashing those beautiful brown eyes to get what she wants. It works everytime. Wait, we were supposed to be talking about you and Jihoon unnie! Don’t shift my focus.”
“Why not when it works so well?” Soonyoung cheekily shrugs.
Seungkwan pinches her side.
“Okay, unnie, you gotta get out there and woo her.”
“‘Woo her?’ How old are you? 35?”
“Okay, I’m done.”
Seungkwan starts to walk out of the restroom, but Soonyoung tugs her back.
“Okay! Okay! I’m sorry!” Soonyoung pouts, “How am I supposed to ‘woo’ her?”
“Well,” Seungkwan smirks, “Do you think you have that skirt on for no reason?”
“Kwannie..” Soonyoung whines.
“Soonie~” Seungkwan mocks and grabs her hand, “C’mon, they probably thought we fell in.”
Seungkwan pulls a crest fallen Soonyoung out of the restroom and back into the food court.
“If I fell in the toilet, do you think she’d come save me?”
“Oh, absolutely. Unnie’s your knight and shining armor.”
Soonyoung sighs, “Thank you…”
Seungkwan sits Soonyoung by Jihoon and she walks around the table to sit next to Hansol.
—-
“Okay, Sollie, you gotta help me get Soonie and Jihoon unnie together!”
Hansol takes another slurp of her noodles, “They like each other?”
“Sollie, are you kidding me? Soonyoung is head over heels for that woman! She whines to me everytime Jihoon ignores her!”
Hansol chews as she thinks, looking at the ceiling.
“Sollie?…Sollie, what do you know?” She shakes Hansol’s arm, “What do you know?!”
Hansol chuckles, “Okay! Okay! Give me a moment to think, Boo!”
“Do you know something about Jihoon unnie? Has she said anything about Soonie to you?”
Hansol shakes her head and shifts her noodles around, “Unnie hasn’t said anything to me about her. I don’t really expect her to either, I mean we are talking about Jihoon here.”
Seungkwan drops her hand on the table and lays her forehead against it dramatically.
Hansol pats her back, “Maybe we should let them figure their own stuff out, Kwannie.”
“By the time they figure each other out, we’ll all be in a nursing home.” she mumbles.
Hansol pulls her back up right and scoops up some noodles with her chopsticks. She puts the noodles near Seungkwan’s lips and Seungkwan accepts the noodles into her mouth.
“Don’t worry so much, Soonyoung unnie and Jihoon unnie will stand on the same stage soon.”
Seungkwan swallows her food and softly pinches Hansol’s cheeks, “You’re so cute when you get all poetic.”
That’s when they both hear a familiar voice shout out, “There you are!” and Seungkwan is dragged off to the restroom. Leaving Jihoon and Hansol to sit at the table together.
Jihoon awkwardly sits down. Hansol takes a sip of her soda, “So you and Soonyoung unnie, huh?”
“What?”
Hansol shrugs, “You like her?”
“I am not having this conversation with you.”
“Why not? We talk about everything else.”
“It’s complicated.”
“How so?”
“She’s clingy, hyper, and annoying. Her clothes and shoes are usually loud colors that hurt my eyes. She’s really bad at fluttering her eyeslashes and she always whines and plays cute to get what she wants. She keeps doing that stupid horanghae thing everytime she says goodbye to me and on top of all that, that skirt she’s wearing is way too short. She doesn’t even wear skirts, let alone skirts like that.”
Jihoon clears her throat and glances away, “But…I like her. Even though I don’t like cheesy things, I like her.”
Hansol chooses not to say anything about the skirt comment, “Then what’s so complicated about that? You like her, you know she likes you. Why not date?”
“At first, I had to see if she was just being friendly, y’know how it is. Having to tell the difference between a girl being friendly or liking you and trying not to make the wrong choice.”
Jihoon looks back at Hansol and grins, “But now that I know, it’s just amusing to see her struggle.”
“Oh, you’re sick, unnie.”
Just as Jihoon was about to make a joke, a sulking Soonyoung is plopped right beside her by Seugkwan.
Cute.
—-
“Unnie, are you hungry?” Hansol asks Soonyoung.
Soonyoung sighs, “Yeah, I could eat.”
Hansol turns towards Jihoon, “Unnie, can you take Soonyoung unnie to get something to eat?”
Jihoon narrows her eyes at Hansol, but fixes her face when Soonyoung glances her way.
“No, it’s okay, she doesn’t have to come.”
“..I don’t mind.”
Soonyoung hesitates, “…Really?”
Jihoon nods and starts to get up. Soonyoung does the same. As Soonyoung and Jihoon walk off to find food, Seungkwan and Hansol high-five.
—-
Soonyoung walks with her arms crossed.
“So anything you have a taste for?”
“…Kimchi.”
Jihoon nods and looks around for a restaurant that aligns with her taste.
“Found it, c’mon.” Jihoon gently guides Soonyoung by the waist to lead her to the restaurant line.
Soonyoung is trying to remember: inhale, exhale. Jihoon’s hand is at her hips and she has to be calm and normal and sane about it.
“Do you want me to order for you?”
“Ah, no, Jihoonie. You’ve already done enough, I can order it for myself.”
“I don’t mind.”
Soonyoung tilts her head, “Really?”
“Yeah, just tell me what you want before we get up there.”
Soonyoung nods and points at the meal she wants on the overhead menu.
Once they order and put on the waiting side, Soonyoung rubs her arms. The mall hasn’t gotten any warmer.
“Are you still cold?”
“Hm? No, I’m okay, just a little chilly.”
Jihoon rolls her eyes, sheds her jacket, and wordlessly holds it out to Soonyoung.
“Jihoonie, I told you I’m fine—“
She pointedly holds it out to her again, “Wear it or wrap it around your waist. Whichever part of your body is colder.”
Soonyoung suspiciously takes the jacket, as if Jihoon will pull it back from her at any moment and say she’s stupid for thinking she’d ever give her any of her belongings, and she slips the jacket on. A bit smaller than she would like it, but it works. It works because it’s Jihoon.
The cashier calls out Jihoon’s name, she picks up the food, and her and Soonyoung make their way back to the table.
When Seungkwan sees Soonyoung sit down with a noticeably new piece of clothing, she shoots Soonyoung a questioning look. Soonyoung shoos her off and starts eating, but Seungkwan has known her long enough for that to mean she’ll tell her later.
—-
The time is now 7pm and they’re walking out of the mall. Yes, Soonyoung and Seungkwan aren’t kids anymore, but they both agreed to have a curfew.
Seungkwan pulls Soonyoung to the side.
“Adding up your points: Promised custom mixtape, eyeliner, and jacket. You’re practically married with a kid on the way. Now all you have to do is stick the landing, Soonie.” Seungkwan whispers.
“The emotions this trip has made me experience in such a short amount of time should be a crime. You’re going to jail, life without parole.”
Seungkwan playfully pushes Soonyoung, “Girl, I’m serious. She obviously likes you back, y’all just have to come together.”
“Obviously?? Nothing she does is obvious. That’s her problem.”
“Yet, you still like her.”
Soonyoung sneaks a glance at Jihoon, “Yeah…I really do.”
“Then get in there, tiger.”
Soonyoung straightens out her skirt to the best of her abilities and nods determinedly.
Seungkwan says a quick, but respectful goodbye to Jihoon and pulls Hansol away to give the two girls some alone time.
Soonyoung rocks on her heels, “Sooo.”
“So?”
“Ah, wait! You must want your jacket back!” Soonyoung frantically starts to pull her jacket until Jihoon halts her arm.
“Keep it.”
Soonyoung blinks, “What?”
“I said you can keep it. At least until we see each other again.”
Soonyoung drops her arms.
Jihoon continues,” Return it to me, when I decide to take you on a date.”
“….A date?”
“Yes, date. Are you okay? Did you hit your head? Why do I have to keep repeating things for you?”
“Because you’re saying crazy things right now!”
“How is saying I wanna take you on a date crazy?”
“It is for you! I thought you didn’t like me!”
Jihoon settles down confusingly, “Why’d you think that?”
“You always ignore me, roll your eyes or sigh whenever I speak to you in class. Naturally, I thought you didn’t like me. That it was only one sided.”
“I thought that was our thing? The banter…it became a natural picture for us.”
“Oh, you’re so dumb , Jihoonie.”
“Yeah, and you’re the sharpest tool in the shed, huh?”
“We both aren’t, stupid.”
“I know that, idiot.”
They fall into laughter.
“Y’know next time you wanna give me your jacket, make sure it’s a little oversized. You’re so petite, Jihoonie.”
“You want me to take it back?”
“No!” Soonyoung aggressively zips up the jacket and stuffs her hands in the pocket.
Jihoon hums and looks up at the sky, “We should get you home, hm?”
“Yeahh, Kwannie’s probably waiting for me in the car.”
“Hm. This was fun.”
“It had to be for at least one of us.” Soonyoung sighs, “Okay, I’m off! If I stay any longer, I’ll probably do something stupid.”
“Oh c’mon, I’m sure you’ve already done something stupid today.”
“GOODBYE JIHOONIE.” Soonyoung huffs and walks to where Seungkwan parked.
Soonyoung gets half-way to her destination before she hears Jihoon shouting.
“Hey! Wait!” Soonyoung looks back to see Jihoon jogging up to her.
“Hm?”
Jihoon gives her a finger to wait as she pants.
“Here.” she says breathlessly as she pulls a Shinee cd from her pocket.
Soonyoung gently takes it, “Jihoonie…”
“You said you have a CD player right? I don’t know if you already have this CD, but—“
Soonyoung cuts her off with a hug, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Jihoonie! You’re the best!”
Jihoonie’s face softens into a smile and she pats Soonyoung’s back, “No problem.” Jihoon pulls back from Soonyoung’s embrace, “Now go to your car.”
“Kay!” Soonyoung skips off.
“Hey! You should wear that skirt more often!” Jihoon shouts.
To be honest, all Soonyoung heard was ‘skirt’, too entranced by the act of love of getting a CD bought for her, but it must’ve been something good? She hopes.
——
Bonus
“So, I see you still have that jacket with you and I certainly don’t remember you leaving the house with it.” She says smugly, scrolling through her phone.
Soonyoung, now showered and dressed in her pajamas, plopped into bed beside Seungkwan, “Kwannie don’t tease, it’s been a rough day.”
Seungkwan puts her phone down and turns on her side, “Do you regret hanging out today?”
Soonyoung turns to face Seungkwan, “….No”
“Thought so, so where’s my thank you, hm? I’m the one who set this interaction up.”
“Want a kiss?”
“If I ever say no, take me to the hospital.”
Soonyoung scoots closer to her and whispers, breathing on Seungkwan’s lips, “Hansol, won’t mind?”
“I told you she wouldn’t, it’s you.”
Soonyoung leans the rest of the way and intends to peck Seungkwan’s lips, but Seungkwan cups her face to make her stay. When Seungkwan is the first one to pull away, she instantly attacks Soonyoung by putting kisses on the rest of face.
“Kwannie, let me go!” she giggles as she pats Seungkwan’s arm.
Seungkwan leans back, “You deserve all the kisses in the world and if Jihoon unnie doesn’t give you them then Hansollie and I will.”
“Actually…she said she wanted to take me…on a date.”
Seungkwan blinks.
“OMG?!? THE PLAN WORKED?! I’m an actual genius.”
“You are!”
“When you go, can I help you get ready?!”
“If I ever say no, take me to the hospital.”
Seungkwan excitedly pulls her closer, wraps her leg around Soonyoung’s hip, and pulls the covers on them.
“Let’s sleep so the day can come faster.” She says against Soonyoung’s cheek.
“Kwannie, she didn’t even tell me when.”
“Doesn’t matter, you need to be ready.” she mumbles.
Soonyoung gently pats her butt, “Okay, Kwannie.”
