Work Text:
Mingi keeps stealing glances at Yunho from across class.
The other boy chooses to not entertain him by looking back, but it’s getting pretty hard to just ignore his eyes piercing through him. Why does he keep staring at him? Well, he kinda hit a nerve earlier by saying that his dad doesn’t love him, yeah kinda harsh.
He responded by doubling down like usual anyways. Mingi tried to hide it but Yunho could tell that the boy was hurt, partly because he knew it was true. Of course, Yunho didn’t know that.
The boys fathers hated each other before they were even born.
They were rival companies, always competing with each other, just like their sons do every day. They taught the boys to always be better than one another. Since kindergarten they never stopped aiming for first place on tests and even social status.
Mingi even has a younger sister, Song Mina—but their father pays even less attention to her than he does to Mingi. He and Yunho have hated each-other for longer than they can remember. But recently there has been something else there, a shift, they both picked up on. They’ve never mentioned it to one another, how would they if they don’t know what it is in the first place? Well Yunho had a definitely crazy, not true idea that there were feelings there other than hate—but he shut that idea down faster than he could even really think about it. had it always been there? It’s been getting harder and harder to ignore it, and it’s like the more they try to push the feelings away, the more intense they get.
Class ended in the blink of an eye. Yunho’s mind had been so clouded with reoccurring thoughts, he didn’t even pay attention, which is bad. Did he go too far? Is Mingi mad at him? Why does he even care if he is? He doesn’t, right? This was the last class, thank god. He’s finally gonna walk home. He spots Mingi ahead of him. He and Mingi live quite close to each other so it’s not uncommon to see him. His body moving faster than his mind he walks up to him.
“Why wouldn’t you stop staring at me in class?”
He didn’t really wanna start a conversation with him but curiosity is eating him alive.
“I don’t know, I guess I was just bored.” The boy replied looking over at him.
“This isn’t the first time you’ve done this.” Yunho said “Isn’t the first time I’ve been bored either.” The other boy responded with a sarcastic tone.
“Did you see what Spiderman did yesterday?” Though he unquestionably hated him, Mingi talked about his interests with Yunho often, he was the only one who would listen. Yunho nodded.
“Awesome right?” he just nodded again. Yunho hated the name Spiderman, even though he was the one who made it, because he is Spiderman. Spiderman made him feel weak though it should do the opposite, he literally got bit by a spider, has powers, and goes around saving the city. He should feel powerful but he doesn’t, he feels like he should do more. The guilt of not being able to save every single person. Though it’s not his fault, he’s still pretty new to this. He didn’t do this to them. But still, he should have prevente-
“Hello?” Mingi’s voice guided him back to reality.
“…” “Did you not hear what I said?” He shook his head, Yunho’s mind was occupied.
“I said what do you think about Spiderman?” Yunho hesitated for a second, why does Mingi even care about his opinion?
“I think he’s a coward.”
“Why?” Mingi asks, almost offended. Yunho didn’t really know how to respond. He saw himself as a coward but Mingi didn’t know that, he looked up to Spiderman. Mingi looked up to the boy infront of him, the boy who he hated, the boy who he didn’t hate, the boy who was so beautiful to him, the boy who’s always on his mind, the boy who he ‘hated.’
“He saved my life before you know” Right.
“You only mention it all the time”
Mingi’s newfound obsession started a couple weeks ago when Yunho, or..Spiderman saved him from someone with a gun. He didn’t know that Yunho was Spiderman he never saw them in the same room, well why would he?
“Why are you, talking to me like that?” Yunho asks.
“Like what exactly?”
Usually their conversation consisted of insults and banter but this time was…different.
”Like we’re friends.” They both pause for a second.
“What? Are you getting the wrong idea yuyu”
He called him that as an insult but Yunho didn’t really see it as one, it only made his heart flutter.
“I was just asking.” He says not saying anything else, deciding not to push it anymore, even though he was still curious.
“Whatever, can you fuck off now?” Mingi asks—breaking the silence.
“Our houses are in the same direction idiot.”
They walked for a little while longer in silence and then finally made it to Mingi’s house “See you tomorrow.” He said as he walked up to his house. “I sure hope not.” Yunho responded.
Yunho walked home. His house was about 5 minutes from Mingi’s. This gave him time to think to himself. It was weird, knowing his enemy idolized him, though it was a different part of him that Mingi didn’t know about, it was still him. No one should idolize him. He thought about Mingi those whole five minutes. Why did he think about him so much? His sweet smile he only saw from afar, his annoying smirk he constantly saw up close, his eyes that he so desperately wants to allow himself get lost in, his brown almost black hair, his pink lips..what the fuck?
He stopped dead in his tracks. Why is he thinking about his lips. That’s not normal, shitshitshitshitshitshit no he can’t have a crus- no don’t even say the word, he can’t have that on Mingi. He doesn’t, right? his mind is just playing tricks on him, he hates his guts. It’s hate right? I mean it has to be, that’s what he’s felt his whole life for him. Yes, yes it is hate…what else could it be. He loathes him always have always will.
He finally makes it to his door. His dad, along with Mingi’s, are on a business trip, leaving him alone which he didn’t mind. He walks up to his room and lays on his bed facing the ceiling.
Why is he sweating? Whatever. Why is he thinking all this about Mingi. Why hasn’t his mind shifted to another subject. He needs to study. But he can’t get his mind off him Maybe he just didn’t get enough sleep last night. But he has felt this way before. every time he looks at his slightly chapped plush pink lips, he wants to kiss them ever so softly. Are they softer than they look? Why does he wanna know so badly? Can this feeling just go away. He doesn’t want to feel this way. Maybe if he increases his distance with Mingi it will go away. Can’t he go back to hating him? Did he ever? All these endless thoughts and possibilities fill his head until he finally falls asleep.
Yunho jolts awake but not the sound of his alarm clock. “Damn it, What is it this time?” He’s awake for a reason. Something bad is going on. He looks over at the time “4:00 am?” He can’t get up too early, he has a test today and can not miss it. He does not want to get up but the guilt will eat him alive if he doesn’t. Putting his suit on, he jumps out the window and goes wherever his senses guide him.
He ends up at some abandoned warehouse. He walks in and sees 6 guys surrounding a woman. Shit. They all turn and look at him. Shit. “Get out of here Miss.” Spiderman says. And that she does— muttering a few quick thanks and apologies.
“Alright can we go ahead and get this over with I’ve got somewhere to be soon” he says. They didn’t find that very amusing. He cracks his knuckles and rushes towards them but he underestimated them severely.
One of them throws him to the ground, but his quick reflexes allow him to get right back up. He dodges only some of their punches. This is the first time he’s fought so many people. He throws webs and manages to wrap them over most of their wrists. Alright there’s two more, Should be easy right?
One charges at him and he dodges to the side.
“Come on, at least hit your punches!” This only made them angrier. He’s already pretty beat up and is only getting weaker. One pushes him, how did he not sense him coming at him? He falls right onto an exposed wood board sticking right up. He lands on it, he plummets on to it, his left shoulder punctured. It’s a miracle it even missed his heart. He gasps in pain.
The thing that made him get up was the sight of a baseball bat hurling at his head. He rolls to the right pulling the wood out of his shoulder. He yells out of pain—He needs to get up, this is looking bad. He stands up holding his shoulder, the only thing allowing him to stand is pure adrenaline.
He manages to defeat one of the two men but the other one comes rushing at him with a knife at his throat. Spiderman barely stops him with his forearm. He manages to push him off of him but the man comes right back stabbing the knife into the right of his lower stomach. “Fuck” he gasps. Is he going to die? He kicks the man off of him pulling the knife with him. He manages to defeat the last guy.
He’s so weak right now. He uses some of the last strength he has to inform the police and get back finally home, swinging into his bedroom window.
It’s already 7:00 he needs to get to school. He can’t possibly make it. He has cuts all over his face and body, bruises, and two puncture wounds, it’s a miracle he’s even alive. But his dad will be so mad if he misses this test. Whatever, he can at least try to make it.
He takes the suit off and looks in the mirror at all his cuts and bruises. His injuries heal faster than the average person but not that fast, at least the bleeding stopped. He splashes cold water over his face, throws on a brown hoodie, and pulls the the hood over his head to conceal the black locks that have sweat and blood covering them.
He puts on grey sweats and walks out the door, if you can even call it walking. He’s probably not even gonna make it in time. He’s making his way down and he sees Mingi, the last person he wants to see. Dammit. He does not want him to see him like this, he’s never seen him this weak before.
“Jesus, who’d you piss off?” the brown-haired boy exclaims while laughing. His laughter quickly stopped when he didn’t respond “Yuyu?” He said softly while approaching him this time with concern instead of to tease him. Yunho’s body decided to collapse right there on Mingi’s chest against his own will. “Yunho…”
“Shit…sorry Mingi” he definitely did not want to be in this situation. It’s silent for about a minute, Yunho is in Mingi’s arms, clutching on to his shirt. God this is embarrassing. And as much as his mind is telling him to he doesn’t want to leave. They have never been so close to one another. “Yunho, wh-what happened” Mingi finally says. “Are you okay?” Silence. Yunho could hear Mingi’s heartbeat pumping unusually fast, why? Maybe his heart always beat this fast, not like he would know. “Come on” Mingi said quietly leading him into his home, his arm over Yunho’s shoulder to support his weight.
Mingi’s dad is thankfully still on that business trip, and his sister should already be at school. “Here, sit down.” Mingi says, gently setting him down on a chair.
“I’ll be right back, just, stay here.” This gives Yunho some time to reflect on the situation.
Why did it have to be him who found him like this? Why did it feel so warm to be in his arms? Why does he want more?
“Yunho?”
His attention shifts to the boy towering over him who he didn’t even notice was already back.
“Is it okay if I treat your wounds?” He hesitantly nods. why does Mingi even want to? why is Yunho letting him? it’s not like treating it will help any, it’s better to just leave it be, that’s what he’s always done anyways.
Mingi lifts Yunho’s chin up and brushes the scar on his bottom lip with his thumb, lingering there. Even though it hurt, it also made his heart skip about 5 beats.
A soft whimper dares to escape his lips, that wasn’t supposed to happen. His cheeks start to turn pink and his eyes look away from Mingi’s. He’s so embarrassed, but he doesn’t move away, he doesn’t want to, strange as it seems. Mingi is just looking down at him with shock present on his expression, his mouth agape. Then he pulls his thumb away after keeping it there longer than he should’ve.
-
Oh. Did he really just whimper? god that was hot. He’s never seen Yunho like this. Mingi couldn’t believe this was happening, that the boy who he ‘hated’ was in front of him, in pain, looking up at him with those puppy dog eyes which he usually did as a joke, but this time…when he saw his eyes, his heart ached, and he wanted nothing more than to protect him.
He wanted oh so badly to kiss those lips he just touched, but he knew it was wrong, he shouldn’t be thinking like that in a situation like this. Though he looked so fucking hot like this, below him, letting Mingi touch him even though he could tell he was hesitant.
He’s cupping his face with one hand and the other has a cotton ball with disinfectant, that he brings to his bottom lip which made Yunho wince in pain and Mingi pull away.
“Yuyu…you’re worrying me.”
The other boy chuckles. “You’re worried about me?”
He responds by bringing the rag back to Yunho’s lip and he could tell he was in pain even though he tried so hard to hide it.
-
Yunho hated this. He was scared, not of his wounds but of being vulnerable, especially with him.
He was also scared of what he was feeling. The way his heart was beating out of his chest, how heavy he was breathing. He knew Mingi could feel him trembling under his touch. He also knew he could see the blush on his face.
The fact that he had no control over his body which he hated but also loved.
Mingi gently moves Yunho’s face to the side for better access to him, and places the cotton ball on his cheekbone.
“Mingi?” “hm?” “Why are you doing this?” he paused for a moment, then continued, no response came. Silence filled the room.
After a little bit he treated all the wounds on his face, putting sloppily placed bandaids on.
“Do you have any more injuries I should know about?” Yunho paused, should he tell him?
That pause told Mingi everything he needed to know. “Take your hoodie off”
“Um…y-you’ve gotta get to school, you have to take that test” Yunho blurts out—standing up.
Mingi gently, but firmly pushed him back into the chair.
“Yunho.” Mingi said, and the way he said it made Yunho fold. He sighed and slowly pulled his hoodie off.
When he met Mingi’s gaze, he wanted nothing more than to run away right then and there. He had this expression full of sadness, concern, shock and comfort.
“Oh my god…” “Is that a fucking stab wound?” He felt so weak in that moment.
Mingi cups his face, pushing his hair behind his ear.
“Yunho…” The softness in how he said his name and the gentleness in his touch caused tears to well up in his eyes, he used everything he had, to make sure they didn’t fall, but his attempt didn’t work.
“shit” he said barely quieter than a whisper, laughing softly. Was he seriously crying right now?
“What happened?” Mingi said softly. After Yunho doesn’t respond, Mingi pulls him to his chest to hold him, this is risky, Mingi thinks. He shouldn’t be doing this.
Yunho clutches his shirt and starts to let go of his tough guy act, letting out gentle sobs. He needed this. Truth is, both of them craved each-others touch more than they could ever know.
Mingi is shocked, no way this is happening right? He pulls away and looks at Yunho in disbelief. Yunho is silent for a second thinking of an excuse letting go of Mingi’s shirt embarrassed. Mingi gently wipes his tears away, which makes his breath hitch. Mingi felt his heart break with how Yunho reacted to the sudden contact.
“Uh-” He manages to get out before he’s interrupted.
“Mingi, can I talk to you for a second?”
Shit. It’s Mina, Mingi’s sister.
“Not right now.”
“Okay…well you two can get back to” she pauses for a second “whatever you’re doing.”
“Hi Yunho.” She waves before leaving going back to her room.
Before he can even think about what just happened Mingi turns back to him.
“Yunho you need to go to a hospita-”
“No!” Yunho blurted out “
Why not?”
“It’ll heal.”
“It can’t just heal on its own! This is some serious shit!”
“Mingi.” He said sternly.
“…”
“I can’t go to a hospital.” He knows if he were to he would probably be sent to some science facility to be tested on. “You have to trust me.”
Now sitting in a chair in-front of Yunho, Mingi sets more supplies out.
“You really don’t have do that..”
“Well since you refuse to go to the hospital for..whatever reason yes, i do.”
“It’s probably gonna hurt like a bitch.” Yunho states.
“You can take it.” Mingi replies, in a way that made Yunho choke and immediately turn red. Was he flirting with him?
Mingi tilts his head in confusion, then raises his brows once realizing, that annoying grin appearing back on his face, but this time it made Yunho’s chest tighten and his face hot.
About 30 minutes passed while Mingi stitched and patched Yunho up, being as gentle as he could. Yunho just watched silently, throwing a groan or sigh around ever now and then.
“Here.” he said tossing Yunho his hoodie back after he was finished.
“Do you still wanna try and make it back to school?”
“You go, They might still let you take the test”
“Nah, what’s the point in taking it, without competition?”
Damn, now not only is he bringing himself down he’s bringing his enemy down with him, but shouldn’t that be a good thing?
“Well, now I have to go talk to Mina.” “You can, wait here…if you want.”
It’s quiet for a second
“Or just go home I-“ Mingi stops himself. And at that heads towards his sisters room, glancing back at Yunho almost seeming like he would shoot him a smile, but he doesn’t.
-
Mingi’s fucked. Mina has this weird not true at all suspicion that Mingi likes Yunho? yeah weird. And it’s not like this is going to help.
‘You can, wait here…if you want.’ Mina mocks.
He buries his face into his hands.
“I mean seriously dude could you sound any more desperate?”
“I’m not desperate!”
“Dude.”
Mina walks over and peeks out the door then closes it quietly. “He’s out there waiting like a dog.”
He’s what?
“Wait really?” “He didn’t leave?” Mingi says, a little too excited.
“I have so many questions, and you better answer.”
“Mina, really just drop it.”
She giggles “You can’t get out of this.” Mingi sighs in response.
“First of all, what is Jeong Yunho doing in our dining room, shirtless?”
“He…uh collapsed, in the street.” “So I brought him in.” Mina just stares.
“Come what was I supposed to do? Just leave him out there?”
“I would think you would. I mean it’s not right but…you’re Mingi, and he’s Yunho—You could’ve just called the hospital.”
Mingi doesn’t really have a response to that.
“Secondly why were you holding him?”
Mingi’s face cringes at that. “You saw that part?” How much had she seen?
“Oh yeah.”
She gestures at him to answer. Mingi sighs and rolls his eyes.
“If you don’t answer I will go ask him myself.”
Mina stars walking towards the door, that can’t happen.
“No!”
She laughs and walks back towards Mingi.
“Why aren’t you at school anyways?” She’s still in her pajamas.
“Stop trying to change the subject…your favorite subject.” She teased, leaning in.
“Mina I swear to god.” He says roughly. Mina puts her hands up in defense.
“Just answer the question.” Mingi sighs “Well I guess..I was trying to..comfort him?”
“Ah. Speaking of that why was he crying? I have never seen that dude show any ounce of…vulnerability?” She Pauses—not sure if that’s the right word.
“Um, maybe because of his wounds? No, he didn’t seem that bothered by it.”
Why was he crying? Mingi thinks to himself
“Fuck, i actually don’t know.”
Mina hums. “Why’s he shirtless?” She says a bit too quickly.
“So I could see his wounds.”
“He just took his shirt off?”
“Well I asked him to.” Mingi says not seeing anything wrong with what he just said. Mina just stares at him.
“So you asked him to take his shirt off…and he listened?”
Well when you put it like that, it sounds weird. Wait, it was pretty weird, and pretty hot.
“Not immediately…”
“You mean you pushed for it?”
Mingi looks away blushing. Mina laughs
“Oh my god.”
Mingi hadn’t seen anything wrong with it at the time but thinking back on it, oh wow. The way Yunho did what he told him too..
“His wounds—what happened there?”
Mingi’s glad Mina stopped his train of thought.
“He won’t fucking tell me anything!”
Mingi realizes how loud he’s talking and lowers his voice.
“He won’t tell me anything about it, I asked him and he won’t.”
Mina sighs.
“He has two puncture wounds, it looks like somebody stabbed him! And the other one i don’t even know.”
Mina starts getting a bit concerned about how upset Mingi is getting.
“I just wish he would tell me, I wanna help.”
Mingi sits down against the wall and Mina joins him.
“Do you really think he would just tell you?”
“…” “No.”
Mina puts an arm around Mingi, she’s always been the one to comfort him, their dad never cared.
“He’ll be ok, hopefully, he probably should see a doctor tho.”
“That’s the thing, he refuses! I tried to convince him and he says he can’t.”
“Hm.” Mina replies and pauses before she speaks. “You really care about him, don’t you?”
Mingi can’t bring himself to say anything, so he just nods.
“It’ll be ok.”
It’s silent for awhile, they are leaned up against Mina’s wall Mingi is burying himself in his arms and Mina is beside him.
“Hey I have an idea.”
Mingi lifts his head at her, not sitting up all the way.
“Why don’t you go to the park? To try and cheer yourself up?”
Mingi responds by putting his head back on his knees.
“You could bring Yunho with you!”
Fuck. Mingi forgot Yunho was out there waiting, he must’ve left by now.
“That’s a terrible idea.”
Mina playfully shoves him. “Hey I think it’s a good one! It’s nice out today!”
“Yunhos probably left anyways.” He responds and Mina scoffs.
“I doubt he has.”
Mingi finally sits all the way up. “You’re crazy.”
“Okay…” He can tell by her mischievous smile that she’s not stopping at that.
“If he’s out there, you ask him to go with you.”
Mingi furrows his brows, no way.
“I dare you.”
Well, he can’t back down on a dare, plus he won’t be out there anyways and it’s worth it to see Mina disappointed.
“Fine.”
Mina’s face immediately lights up.
“He’s not gonna be out there.” He says as they stand up.
“Yeah, totally.”
They open the door and Mingi closes it right away.
“There’s no fucking way.”
He really waited out there? Mina is still laughing.
“Well..” Mina opens the door, shoves him out then locks the door on him.
Mingi’s screwed. He takes a deep breath and then faces Yunho who’s looking right at him. Dammit.
-
Yunho had zoned out the whole time Mingi was gone. Snapping back when he hears the door open, shut and Mingi get thrown out. How long has it even been? Mingi walks towards him slowly
“Hi.” Mingi says
.
“Hi?” What’s wrong with him?
“Sorry to make you wait so long.”
Yunho just shrugs.
“I was uh planning on going to..the uh park.”
What does that have to do with him?
“Did you uh maybe want to…go with me?”
What?
-
Mingi is so embarrassed, the way Yunho is looking at him, grinning. Ugh, he feels so small right now.
“Sure?” Yunho responds.
-
Yunho thought this was weird, he thought Mingi hated him and he hated him back? Why does he want to hang out? If that’s even what this is.
“Come on” Mingi says while coming to help Yunho up.
He guided him to the door and they walked out. Yunho stared at Mingi as they were walking. The desperation that he had for him growing bigger and bigger by the second. What was that in there? Why did he do that? He already asked him that question—he didn’t answer, leaving him with even more questions. What is that supposed to mean? Does he care about him? no he hates him and Yunho hates him back…right? What did he and Mina talk about for so long?
“We’re here!”
Already? Yunho swore they just left the house, mentally he didn’t, what happened in there consuming him. They walked in silence for a bit.
“Look”
“Hm?”
“See that tree”
Yunho looked over where Mingi was pointing.
“Yeah”
“Follow me”
Mingi took his hand and ran over to it. He held his hand like it was made to fit his perfectly. He started climbing the tree.
“What are you doing?” Yunho said.
“Come on!”
Yunho started climbing up with him
“Wait do you need help? With all your wound and stuff you probably shouldn’t be climbing.”
Mingi looks down at him worryingly
“I’m fine.”
Yunho continued until they reached a branch sticking out, letting Mingi show him where to go.
“Why did you bring me up here?”
“The view is pretty.”
Yunho thought Mingi was a prettier view anyways.
They hung out pretty much all day. Getting food, walking around, talking—even though it was still weird to Yunho, he had fun. It’s getting dark. They eventually made it back to the park and are now sitting on a bench. Mingi is still sipping on the slushy he bought earlier. Yunho was staring at Mingi once again.“
You’ve been staring at me all day, what is it?”
He couldn’t tell Mingi, he didn’t have it in him.
“Nothing!”
Mingi turned to face him knowing there was more.
“…” “I’m just confused.”
Yunho’s mouth moving faster than his mind yet again.
“Why?”
“I thought we were enemies?”
“Are we not?” Mingi asked, The silence was loud.
Yunho was the first to break the silence.
“Shit”
His spidey senses tingled.
“What?”
“We need to leave, now”
“Yunho, what’s wrong?”
Yunho didn’t have time to think, he grabbed Mingi’s wrist and got up. But when they turned around they saw a crowd already rushing towards them.
“Fuck”
Yunho started running with the crowd but quickly turned sideways, realizing what he had to do.
“Yunho where are we going?”
Yunho led him to a tree. “Stay here”
“What?”
Yunho started to leave but Mingi grabbed his wrist.
“Don’t leave me.” “Please”
Yunho had to fight every bone in his body to not listen to him. “I’m sorry.”
He started to run away feeling guilty for leaving Mingi there but what he was doing was more important…wasn’t it? It doesn’t matter. He found a different tree, far from Mingi’s to suit up behind.
-
Yunho left Mingi behind. Mingi is feeling betrayed, but also panicked. He was alone. His breathing started to speed up until he was practically hyperventilating. Yunho must have a reason right?
“Look!”
“It’s Spiderman!”
Mingi heard various people shout…what if Yunho? No, he’s being delusional, there’s absolutely- “no way” left his lips. His breathing starting to slow down until he wasn’t panicked anymore. He saw Spiderman, with rips in his suit placed exactly where the wounds on Yunho’s chest were, Yunho’s chest… No this is not the time to think about that. It must be a coincidence, It has to be—there’s no way that Spiderman the hero he idolized is Yunho? His enemy who he hated…and was also madly in love with. But he saw the bandages he placed on his chest through the tears in the suit…
”Yunho is Spiderman.”
“Holy shit Yunho is Spiderman!”
He kept repeating the same sentence in his head over and over again until the words didn’t sound real anymore. But he didn’t know if he fully believed it himself, he needed proof. Was Spiderman really the boy who was crying because of his touch just this morning?
Spiderman drops the criminal who was terrorizing innocent people at the police station, and swings back to where it happened.
“You all get home safe.”
He said to all the people looking at him. After they all turned away he let a sigh escape from his lips, turning around just to see Mingi looking straight at him. Shit, he doesn’t know right?
“You should probably get home too.”
Spiderman says to Mingi, who has an unimpressed look on his face
“Take me home.” He replies.
“I don’t know where your house is kid”
Spiderman says, in an attempt to shut down this conversation.
“The person I was with left me behind.”
‘Im so sorry’ is what he wanted to say, but that’s Yunho speaking, not Spiderman.
Ok so he doesn’t know his identity. Good.
“You’ll have to tell me where your house is.”
The boy just nodded, as Spiderman stepped forward—hesitantly.
“Hold on to my neck.”
He did just that. Spiderman shot a web at the nearest street light, swinging through the air, holding Mingi as tight as he could so he wouldn’t fall. This was weird the same word that’s been in his head all day—He was holding Mingi, what he’s failed acting like he didn’t want to do this whole time. Mingi doesn’t know it’s him, Right? But wouldn’t the boy who talks about how cool he thinks Spiderman is would be more excited to meet him again, wouldn’t he?
He made it to Mingi’s house, after a while of silence as Mingi burrowed his face into Spiderman’s neck—afraid of falling. Mingi didn’t have to tell him where he lived, he forgot to ask, even more proof.
“Here.”
He said placing him down gently. He expected Mingi to walk in his house but he didn’t.
“Yuyu.”
What? Mingi didn’t just call him that? His mind must be playing tricks on him. The boy reaches for his mask.
Spiderman gently but firmly, grabs Mingi’s wrists as to not hurt him but also stop him.
“That’s not my name”
He says in a desperate attempt to get Mingi to stop.
“Yunho”
Spiderman visibly tenses at that—Damn it, he beat him at his own game.
“Please” Mingi begs. “I wanna see your beautiful face.”
What did he just call him. Fuck. That’s what finally makes Yunho fold. His grip loosens and he lets go of Mingi’s wrists completely. No, what is he doing? He shouldn’t be doing this, it’s dangerous. He needs to walk away, he needs to get out of there.
Mingi slowly pulls his mask up to reveal the beautiful face in question.
Yunho can’t bear to face him, instead, opting to look down at the floor, practically chewing on his lip.
Mingi moves the black hair out of his eyes—Messy, as his mask just came off.
“Come inside before someone sees you.” He brings him inside, closing the door.
“Yunho”
“…”
“Look at me.”
He didn’t.
Mingi put his hands around Yunho’s waist pulling him closer. Well that definitely made him look.
“You look really hot right now.”
??? No way he just said that. A million thoughts start racing through his head.
“Are you just saying that because you found out I’m Spiderman?”
That was kinda a stupid question
But how else was he supposed to respond to that? Mingi laughed.
“Fuck Spiderman.” “I said that because I found out your Jeong Yunho.”
Yunho’s ears are bright red.
“Also I kinda, always, think you’re…really hot?”
Mingi says hesitantly, letting go of Yunho’s waist.
Oh. How is Yunho even supposed to respond to that?
“How did you figure it out?”
Yunho says, genuinely curious, but also in a desperate attempt to change the subject—Mingi just gapes at him for a second
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah?”
“God you’re an idiot.”
This isn’t the first time Mingi’s called him that.
“You leave me behind some random tree-
“Sorry about that..”
“run away and suddenly Spiderman pops out.” “Not to mention the tears in your suit.”
he says looking down and touching Yunho’s chest.
“The bandages that i put there are showing, if you didn’t notice.”
He didn’t, He was too caught up to fix it or notice it. Yunho’s breath hitches at the touch.
“You’re adorable.” Mingi mumbles.
Yunho doesn’t respond.
It’s silent for a little, Mingi fidgeting with the tears on his suit, and then Mingi decides to say something he knows he’ll regret.
“Can we…forget, about hating each other?”
He says looking up at Yunho pleadingly.
“…just for tonight?” Talking barely above a whisper.
“What do you mean by that?” Yunho barely gets out.
“Oh come on, you know exactly what I mean by that, don’t act stupid.”
Yunho had a clue but was trying to ignore it.
Mingi’s hands find themselves back to Yunho’s waist and he glances at Yunho’s lips. Oh,
“I want you so bad, Yunho.”
Mingi says leaning in to whisper into his ear.
Hearing Mingi say that flipped a switch in Yunho, he didn’t even know was there. He can’t take this anymore, he needs to do something about it.
Hesitantly Yunho leans closer, until their faces are merely inches apart. Should he do it? He was supposed to increase their distance not decrease it. Mingi already found out about the Spiderman stuff so what does he have to lose? His dignity? His enemy? But regretting not doing this would be far worse than regretting doing it. Yunho slightly tilts Mingi’s head up so his lips are closer to his, and he feels Mingi’s grip on his waist tighten.
“I can’t believe i’m doing this”
Yunho whispers.
“Don’t you want it?” Mingi replies smirking.
Yunho responds by finally closing the very small distance between them.
The kiss was soft, slow and gentle at first, until it wasn’t. It became desperate, hungry, like they haven’t eaten in weeks. All the pent up desire and even hatred coming out all at once. Mingi slid his hands into Yunho’s hair tugging at it which made Yunho gasp—Yunho could feel that grin up against his lips which fell quickly once he shoved Mingi up against the wall deepening the kiss.
“Fuck Yu, you’re good at this.”
Mingi says pulling away, pressing his thumb down on Yunho’s lip. Yunho responds by sucking down on his thumb while maintaining eye contact.
Grabbing Mingi’s wrist away from his mouth, Yunho tilts Mingi’s head up and gently bites and sucks down on his neck, then moving down to the sensitive spot above his collarbone, prompting in a small gasp.
He lets go of Mingi’s wrist to slide his hand under his shirt to touch Mingi waist.
He slowly moves back up, kissing the spots on his neck he just claimed.
Yunho eventually makes it back up to Mingi face, tilting his head back down to kiss him again when they suddenly hear a door open.
They jump away from each other only to see Mina staring at them, jaw dropped.
This is bad, not only did she just walk in on Yunho making out with her brother, Yunho is in his Spiderman suit.
“Oh…guess it went well at the park- holy shit.”
Her eyes go wide when she looks at Yunho.
“You’re Spiderman?”
“Mina, you can’t tell, anyone.”
She just stares at him.
“Please, if you do I’m fucke-“
“I won’t, you can trust me.” She cuts him off.
Yunho looks over to Mingi for anything really.
He looks at her for a second then looks at Yunho and nods.
“She’s telling the truth.”
Mingi replies, and it’s silent for a second.
“Anyways…”
Mina finally says, breaking the silence.
“I came to tell you that dad is coming home, In a couple,”
She pauses to look at her phone to check the time.
“Oh, Right about now actually.”
“What?”
Mingi replies faster than Yunho can even acknowledge what was said— until all three of them hear a car pull up.
“Shit!” Yunho exclaims.
Mina sighs. “Ok, come on you two.” She groans gesturing towards her room.
Yunho and Mingi nod. quickly following. She speed walks to her room, which is right across the hall.
She rushes them inside, closing the door, just in the nick of time before they hear the front door opening. Yunho lets out a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding.
“So, what the fuck is going on?” Mina whispers.
Mingi just puts a finger over his lips, still watching the door, either to be quiet or to shut down the conversation about what just happened.
“Mingi!” They suddenly hear. “God damn it” Mina mumbles, “Coming!” Mingi says, heading out the door just like that—leaving Yunho and Mina alone.
“So are you and my brother like, a thing now?”
How is supposed to answer that question when he’s barley just proceeded what happened?
“No!”
Mina raises her eyebrows at him, obviously not taking that for an answer.
“Well, I don’t know.” Yunho says, folding under absolutely zero pressure.
“I don’t know what’s going on at all.”
“I mean I always knew Mingi had a huge crush on you, but I didn’t think you liked him back.”
“He has what?”
“Oh, did he not tell you?” Mina says, genuinely curious.
“I guess he maybe did.” Yunho’s thinking back to what Mingi said earlier, ‘I kinda, always, think you’re…really hot?’ But that’s not a confession, is it?
“Well he denies it so don’t take my word for it.” Mina replies in an unconvincing manner.
“Do you like him?”
That’s a hard question, he already did before tonight, he just didn’t want to admit it—but now, he can’t deny his feelings after what just happened.
Yunho just nods.
Mina hums in response. “How long have you been Spiderman?” The question throws Yunho off guard.
“Well I created Spiderman so..the whole time?”
Before she can respond, Mingi opens the door and comes back into Mina’s room with an exaggerated sigh.
“What happened?” Yunho immediately asks.
“He was asking about the mask, I told him Mina sewed it for me because I’m a Spiderman fan”
Those words still sound weird coming out of Mingi’s mouth, even after he knows Yunho’s identity.
“Oh and sorry Mina, because now he wants you to sew the hole in his suit.” She scoffs at that.
“And how did you explain those?” Mina asks, pointing to his neck.
“I uh, told him I had a girl over earlier, he bought it.”
Now it’s awkward. Yunho definitely isn’t a girl—and definitely not someone Mingi’s dad would approve of.
“So uh Yunho, you should probably get out of here, before you get caught, you can use my window.” Mina says in an attempt to lighten the mood.
Yunho nods and starts to get up. “Wait!” Mingi hushes. You forgot this, he says handing him his mask.
“Oh, thank you.” Yunho says, barley audible while taking it from Mingi and sliding it on
“Well, see you later, Yunho—Don’t be getting yourself killed.”
Mina mutters with a faint smile.
Yunho nods at her, returning the smile, then looks over at Mingi.
They hold eye contact for a little until Mingi finally speaks up.
“See you, Spiderman.”
Yunho blushes at that and stupidly runs out of Mina’s window not saying anything.
-
“He hates me.” Mingi says as soon as Yunho swings out the window.
“He does not hate you,” Mina says—walking over to close the window that’s letting the cool breeze in. “he’s just an idiot.”
“You think?” Mingi asks.
“Totally. You should’ve seen him when you weren’t there, he was a blushing mess.”
“Seriously?” Mingi questions.
“Not to mention, and I wouldn’t be telling you this if I wasn’t sure you had a crush on him, he admitted to liking you.”
Mingi gawks at her. No way—surely he can’t,
“Yunho hates me tho.”
“Were you two not just kissing like, 10 minutes ago?” She says.
“Well,” Mingi went into that having more to say, but none of it came out.
“Just go to sleep Mingi, you’ll see him tomorrow.” Mina requests.
Mingi groans and gets up at that.
“Goodnight.”
He says walking out her door.
Mingi heads to his room and plops down on the bed.
What tomorrow will store is a problem for the future—now all that matters is sleep.
Well, an attempt at sleep, though he probably will be thinking about what happened all night long.
