When you were 5, your mom moved to the Miyagi prefecture after the split up with your father. Now youd see him every other weekend and live with your mom by herself. You were happy at the different and bigger space and quickly adapted. What you didnt expect is to make a friend.
It was a hot day with the cicadas sound almost excruciating to people; not you though. You sat in the local park with your mom watching from a distance on a bench. You sat in the grass digging for worms and trying to catch grasshoppers. Your denim overalls had dirt on it along with the light pink shirt under with a unicorn in the middle. Just as a lady bug landed on you, you look up to show your mom but you see someone around your age going down the nearest slide. He looked sad, bored even but you still ran to
him ladybug gone in the wind.
"Hi! Im y/n! I just moved in, whats your name?" You said extremely cheerful to the indifferent boy. "Hi, im Tsukishima." He responds almost blandly. "Would you wanna be friends?" "Um sure?" "Okay!" You end up going down the slide with him a couple times and took turns pushing each other on the swing. Once tired you sat next to him under a willow tree in the middle of the park, both moms now watchful and participating in a seemingly interesting conversation with eachother. "Im 5 years old." You say holding up 5 of your little fingers. "I just turned 6." He says with a smug grin. "Do you go to Okawa Elementary School?" He asks. "Im starting in a week, im in kindergarten." "I am too." As you guys talked a familiar buzzing could be heard, that of a bee. One that landed right on Ttsukishima and stung him. "Ouch!" He yelled his hand aiming to smack the bee that was already probably on its way back to the hive. "Are you okay?" "Im okay it just stings a bit." "Sorry— um.. what's your name again?" "Tsukishima. Remember it this time." He says bluntly. "Do you even remember my name?" You ask as he tries to recall then looks sheepish. "y/n?" "Oh so you did remember."
When it got too dark and the mosquitoes started to come to bite; you and Tsukishima ran back to your moms, your light pink jelly flats landing on the floor a scattered rhythm. He pulled far ahead of you his light shoes making it better to see as you ran behind him. You greeted your moms with fatigued smiles and said. your goodbyes. Only for you guys to walk the same way; then the down the same street, then down your street. Come to find out hes your next door neighbor. "Bye!" You yelled waving as he mumbled a small bye and you guys both entered your life. Who knew bugs would bring on friendship?
