Examined By An Entomologist

Summary:

Tsumiki comes home and finds an unexpected visitor in her room. She knows she shouldn't let the poison sink in even if it feels good at the time. But could it really be that bad for her if it makes her feel alive? No one knew how to make her feel more seen than the attention of Yorozu after all.

--------
There was nothing on the Tsumiki/Yorozu tag so I made it real. This is super self-indulgent.

Notes:

The tags say everything. This is some kind of modren au. Yorozu knows that Tsumiki is weak for her and absolutely uses it against her. I love me some soft manipulation. They're more like a toxic situationship rather than actually dating.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Tsumiki called out her arrival to the mostly empty home. The Gojo estate was massive, but she didn’t really see a point to it if only her and Megumi were ever home. There were servants that would come and go during the day time. They bowed their heads when they passed by them in either respect or avoidance. The pads of her feet along the floorboards echoed as she made her way to her brother’s room knocking once on the closed door.

“Megumi?” Tsumiki tentatively asked, expecting no answer as usual.

“Yeah?” was his muffled reply. He might have been napping.

“Nothing. Just checking if you were home,” another part of her routine. She’s surprised he had answered at all. “There should be leftovers, so we’ll do that for dinner.”

“Hmm, okay.” Tsumiki had to strain her hearing to hear that response. With that part of her routine done, it was onto the next: a bath. The lone sound of her footsteps following her once more down to her bedroom. Letting herself in without a second thought and closing the door behind her. Undoing the first button on her shirt, the second, and a hand clamping over her mouth holding in her yelp while a warm body pressed against her back.

“It’s me,” the honey sweet laced voice dripping onto Tsumiki in that familiar but paralyzing way it always did. It had been weeks since they last seen each other. She… She shouldn’t be here. There was nothing good that came from being around her. The hand over her mouth went to holding a piece of her hair and bringing it over to where Yorozu was nestled against the crook of her neck. Like she belonged there. “You cut your hair.”

“N-not really,” the fact was that she had trimmed it. Yorozu did have an eye for small details. Especially those that had her interest. Tsumiki should be pushing her away. She should be putting distance between them. She knew this wouldn’t end well if she allowed it. “How- How did you get in?” But like always Tsumiki couldn’t help being caught in that laid out trap. Her hands plainly stuck dangling at her side as the other woman did what she wanted and she did nothing to stop it.

Yorozu hummed and she could feel the vibration buzz against her shoulder pleasantly. The woman dropped the hair she was holding, opting to slide it across Tsumiki’s stomach and settle it on her waist pressing her further against that warm source. Yorozu’s free hand pointed over at the slightly ajar window, “You really should lock them properly, Tsumiki.”

“But it was locked,” she didn’t leave it unlocked when she left. She’s sure of it.

Yorozu hummed a second time but in inquisition. “It was when I came here.” That pointing hand went to twirling one of Tsumiki’s strands of hair between her fingers. “You need to be more careful. What if some unsavory person came in while you were gone?” Concern weaving the web she was caught in.

“But I…” Tsumiki had locked the window before she left. Hadn’t she? Maybe… Maybe she had forgotten to do so. “I’ll be more careful.” Fingers, still twined around a piece of her hair, brushed against her jaw line. Tsumiki couldn’t stop the little whine that left her lips. This was dangerous territory. But she was already trapped. And could she really call it a trap if she liked being under Yorozu’s microscope? Pinning her wings back carefully, not damaging the wings themselves, but seeing what’s underneath her layers.

“Why don’t you come out tonight?” Those poison dipped words. They were sweet, intoxicating, but would leave her guilt ridden once the high wore off.

“I,” Tsumiki scrambled to find a reason, something, to latch onto in this last effort of struggling in this snare but the warm body against her ever cold imposed by others isolation, the rapt attention on her and her alone were leaving her with nothing, “I shouldn’t.”

“Shouldn’t?” There was a minute shift of Yorozu’s head, as if she was looking up at her. Burning into her. “Or you don’t want to?”

“I…” There was nothing for her to say. She knew she shouldn’t, but saying she didn’t want to would be a blatant lie.

“You know you’ll have fun, Tsumiki,” the weight bearing on her shoulder left but didn’t stray far. The hair on the back of Tsumiki’s neck rose at what she expected next. Whispered against her ear for only the two of them to hear, “Let me take care of you.” An involuntary shiver down her spine and Tsumiki finally grasped the hand on her waist.

“Okay,” shuttering the reply out quietly and sealing her within Yorozu’s trap once more for however many times this was now. Tsumiki followed her out the window, something she’d never do on her own, but Yorozu always had a way of getting her to do things she’d never dare do on her own. Exciting things that were both equally a rush, and she would regret deeply later. But she didn’t have to think further into the future. All she had to focus on in the moment was pleasing her. Yorozu was right after all. Their time together was always fun.

Notes:

I love toxic yuri. It's a thing of beauty.

Shout out to Tangle and our conversation on these two. Nothing gets me more inspired than talking with someone about a niche ship lmao.
