Sakura sighed as she walked through the borders of Mist. She left the leaf a year ago; she couldn't put up with the elders and everyone trying to get her to marry the Uchiha. As she made her way through the small woods, it started to rain; with another sigh, she kept walking. She stopped when she walked into a small clearing and looked around. She turned at the sound of a voice, though the tree blocked who it was.
"You're a long way from leaf." The voice was calm, soft, and very male. She didn't need to see who it was; she already knew.
"Utakata," her voice was gentle, almost hopeful, her eyes scanning the trees.
"Sakura,” he returned as he stepped into the small clearing.
Sakura took him in; he hasn't changed much over the years. The Mist Shinobi, who then turned rogue and then a Shinobi once more after the 4th Great Shinobi War, stood there, calm as ever. Sakura could feel her heart speed up and her cheeks turn pink a bit. They had gotten close during the war, and admittedly they kissed a few times. This is the first time they've seen each other since, though. They did write regularly before she got Tsunade to let her leave the village.
Sakura swallowed and couldn't help but admit it. "I missed you." She then blushed more and looked away.
She felt a finger light her chin; her wide green eyes met his soft gold ones. "I missed you too," he admits, moving to cup her face. "I...I heard what Leaf tried to make you do." He adds, then pauses for a few seconds before he continues. "I'm glad you didn't marry him."
Sakura leans into his touch, her eyes fluttering closed as she admits. "How could I? He's not the one who owns my heart."
Utakata swallowed, and he pulled her close, one hand on her hip. "You have no idea how worried I was." His voice was barely audible over the rain.
Sakura brings her hands to rest on his chest, holding him close. "I was so scared," she admitted, her voice thick with tears.
At the admission, his hold on her tightened, and he pulled her closer. "I'm here now, baby; they won't take you from me now." He promises, his voice dripping with possessiveness and something darker.
Sakura relaxed and clung to him, burying her face in his neck. She breathed in the scent she so missed, even if it was watered down by rain. Utakata buried his face in her hair and breathed her in as well.
"Come back to Mist with me,” Utakata said simply. He didn't ask, though he didn't order it; it was a mix between the two.
"Yes,” was her simple and truthful reply, and he moved his hand from her hip to under her knees and picked her up.
"You're mine, and no one will take you from me now that we have reunited." He says as he starts to walk, Sakura wraps her arms around his neck, resting her head on his shoulder.
"I love you, my Utakata," Sakura said softly, her voice full of love, possessiveness, and a hint of something dark.
"And I love you too, my Sakura," he returns just as softly with the same amount of love, possessiveness, and the same hint of darkness to it.

It was 5 years and 4 months later when Konoha learned where Sakura ended up. Kakashi, who was Hokage; Naruto; Sasuke; Sai; and Yamato were having a meeting with Mei in the mist. It was after the meeting when they showed Sakura kissing Utakata. They could only stare in shock, mouths open.
Sakura and Utakata both had wedding rings on, and from the looks of the rings, they were at least 5 years old. They had 5-year-old quintuplets running around them—3 females and 1 male. There was also a set of 3-year-old twins, both boys, and it was clear Sakura was pregnant again from her very, very rounded abdomen.
"Ah, aren't they cute?" Mei sighed dreamily, watching the family, one hand on her cheek.
"H-How?” Naruto stuttered out, completely dumbfounded.
"Oh, apparently they had a thing going on during the war." Mei said simply with a wave of her free hand. "One day, about 5 years and 4 months ago, he came back to the village carrying her. Both were lovely, possessive, and protective of each other. It was so sweet! I mean, they're still all 3, though; if anything, their children made it worse!" Mei giggled, watching the family fondly at the memories.
The 5 males could only stare; it finally made sense why she was so against marrying Sasuke. She was already with someone she so clearly loved more than anything. All they could do was watch the closely in love couple with their 6 children. The 8 of them made the perfect family, so it hurt. It was clear Sakura moved on without them and was happier.
