Dillion didn't know why he was out there sitting on their bench just watching the water, but she had been on his mind lately, and he was just drawn to a place that once was theirs. Dillion never said it out loud, at least not to the one person who truly needed to hear it, but he wished that he could go back in time and stop himself from sleeping with Sage and then with Lulu. Part of him had always believed that Georgie would forgive him and take him back, no matter the mistakes he made and whose bed he ended up in. He believed with all of his soul that he and Georgie were soulmates and they would always find their way back to one another. Lulu was a line he never should have crossed. He got caught up in her lies and fell for her games. He still chased after her even when she was pulling in as many other men as she could into her games, all with the belief that in the end, he had Georgie to fall back to.
No one saw Georgie leaving Port Charles. Okay, that was a lie. Mac, Robin, and Maxie saw it coming, the three of them encouraging Georgie to leave and spread her wings. They knew that she was meant for bigger things than being trapped in Port Charles. Surprisingly enough, Emily and Jason also encouraged Georgie to leave. Dillion hadn't even known his two cousins were that close to his ex-wife, and they both seemed to know where she was, and neither would tell him.
Jason's cold blue eyes stared at Dillion, and he resisted the urge to flinch as he met his cousin's gaze. He knew he was dealing with Stone Cold. "You broke Georgie's heart chasing after Carla 2.0, and only want Georgie when Lulu went after Logan and then Johnny, both of whom had the sense to turn her down. Georgie has wiped her hands of you; she is moving on with her life, and she is no longer waiting just to be your fallback choice. I am proud of her. Too many times, I let Carla get her way, and I lost too much time with Elizabeth and our sons. It was Georgie who helped me realize that my life doesn't need to be put on hold just to clean up Carla's latest mess, and I am happier than I have ever been. The family I want with Elizabeth shouldn't have to come after Carla. You hurt Georgie too many times, and she made the choice to let you go, and you can't demand she keep waiting for you."
It was the most his cousin had said to him in a while and Dillion still couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that Jason was such a fierce protector of his ex-wife and he couldn't help but feel betrayed that Georgie got their loyalty and all he got from her family was glares and threats of being thrown in a jail cell if he didn't leave her alone. He just couldn't understand why he didn't see that he and Georgie are soulmates.
Sighing, he knew that he should leave the docks soon, especially as the sun was setting and his mother would wonder where he was and worry that he was getting back together with a recently single Lulu. When a sound he hadn't heard in ages reached his ears, and there standing before him, looking as if she had just walked off the screen, was the woman who had been plaguing his thoughts, "Georgie."
When Georgie left Port Charles at the encouragement of her family, and the most unlikeliest of people Jason and Emily who had help pay her way through college, she tried to turn them down but they unleashed someone who no one could say no to Lila and soon she found herself not having to worry about college and with her grades she got into all of her top choices. She made the choice to chose to become a journalist and ended up travelling the world. She loved Port Charles, but she wanted to see what was out there. She had left behind the ghost of her old life, but it seemed like they were ready to stop haunting her. Letting out a deep sigh, she turned to face one she had long ago let go of. "Dillion."
Dillon's eyes seemed to sparkle as a new light entered them, and he took a step forward only to stop as Georgie took a step backwards, making sure to keep a distance between them. "I didn't know you were back in town."
Shrugging her shoulders, Georgie tucked a lock of her hair behind her ears, "I didn't really let anyone but a few people know that I was back. I had some news that I wanted to share in person."
A spark of hope filled Dillion; he might have a third chance at winning her back. "Are you moving back home?"
It seemed that there would always be one thing that would never change; she would always know how to read Dillion, "No. I still visit, but Port Charles is no longer where I call home. I guess you should hear it from me and no one else. I know Maxie will most likely use this to taunt Lulu, and she will come running to you to cry in your arms."
"Lulu isn't like that!" Dillion didn't know why he instantly defended Lulu; he just couldn't help it. The look Georgie gave him made him want to apologize, but the words just wouldn't come.
"Lulu is always going to come first for you, and I deserve better than that. When I left here, I put our past behind me. When I told you it was over, I meant it. I have moved on from you, and I am happy. Dillion, I am getting married, that is what I came home to tell those who needed to know." Georgie's brown eyes shone with happiness and love.
Dillion felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest. "You're getting married? To whom?" He didn't even remember moving until he had his hands on Georgie's arms and shaking her as he yelled at her.
"Dillion, let me go, you are scaring me." Georgie pleaded.
"Tell me who! You are my wife, and I will not allow you to marry anyone else!" Dillion had never felt such rage, not even when Lulu made him think that Georgie and Diego had a thing.
Dillion suddenly felt himself ripped away from Georgie and was staring into the burning blue eyes of his cousin, who was looking very much like Stone Cold at that moment, "Jason."
"Get him away from her!"
Looking towards Georgie, whatever he planned on saying died on his lips as he took in who was holding Georgie, Johnny Zacchara, who was looking to turn him into ashes.
"Let's go." Jason was jerking him away from where Georgie stood seeking comfort from Johnny, and any apology he had to offer would be rejected. She didn't even look at him once, too busy looking up at Johnny.
Johnny didn't relax until he made sure that Jason had removed his cousin before he focused on the woman in his arms, "Are you alright? Did he hurt you in any way?" He scanned her over, making sure that she was fine.
"Johnny, I'm okay. You and Jason got here just in time." Georgie did her best to reassure him.
Crushing Georgie to him, Johnny tilted her head up and placed a kiss on her lips. "It scared me to see him yelling and shaking you like that."
"It scared me, too," Georgie admitted. She had never seen Dillion like that, and she couldn't understand why he acted like this; he only seemed to want her when no other woman did. The dusk had set on her and Dillion's relationship a long time ago, and a new one rose with Johnny.
Johnny's dark eyes shone with love as he brushed back a lock of her hair, grateful that she was safe in his arms. When he left Port Charles and returned to Italy, he never expected to meet Georgie Jones or have his heart stolen by her. It hadn't been easy to win her heart, but it was worth it. She is his everything.
"I love you." Georgie smiled at the man she loves, the other half of her soul and her soon-to-be husband.
"I love you more." Johnny would always wonder what he had done to deserve such a wonderful woman as Georgie, but was forever grateful that she came into his life. She is his light, the love of his life, his soulmate and what keeps him from losing himself. "I can't wait to be your husband."
Giggling Georgie pulled him down into a kiss, one that they happily lost themselves in.
