Chapter Text
it's been weeks since he's seen you. both of your busy schedules unfortunately make it that way. you missed him. and, if he were honest, much like he is, sylus would say the same. you enjoyed his forward nature. no one else gives the directness of his attitude. he doesn't leave you guessing about his intentions. you feel like you know him all the better for it.
with your head hung low from his absence, you try to focus your attention on work. it'd hours since you've heard your own voice at this point, simply a vessel with moving eyes. a couple of footsteps are present here and there, but you have the feeling you're one of the last, if not the last, remaining workers in the office. at this realization, you groan and sigh before stretching your neck and soothing the tension.
you perk up when footsteps are approaching rather than fading this time. your face lights up all the more for it. “hard at work, are you?” sylus drags out with flowers in hand. they were the same ones he saw you eyeing on your previous shopping adventure, only feigning to leave them unpurchase because of the lack of space in your hands and his. sylus leans down, gently pressing a kiss to your forehead. “I've missed you.”
you whisper his name fondly before smiling, smothering a giggle with your hand, repeating the sentiment back with just as much devotion. all of a sudden, your tender aches and pains are unworthy of any caution. you bring him closer and wrap your hands around his neck. the kiss is full blown this time — slightly immodest for a work setting but there's little room to care. he's back and he's here and you've missed him so much your heart could burst. that's what you tell him between kisses. he's very willing to reciprocate your affections.
you both say a little bit of this and a little bit of that before you're convinced your work can wait until the next day. it isn't terrible to leave a few things unfinished. besides, both of you can tell rest is necessary. you haven't seen each other for awhile but each can tell the others job is most tiresome. “come. let's go home.” you take the flowers and hold them close to your chest. yes, home. that's where you'd like to be.
