Chapter Text

“Good morning everyone you may take your seats” Aizawa walked to the front of the room as class 1-A sat down in their seats. The students all took their seats and fell silent as they watched their teacher waiting for him to start the lesson. “Before we start today I want to introduce our new foreign exchange students. UA started a new program this new year to try and introduce students who didn’t have the chance to start in a hero course school. We approached a school district in America that had few hero schools around it and they offered a handful of students the opportunity to join us, so be nice to your new classmates. You can come in now.” As Aizawa finished three students entered the room two girls and a boy.

The taller girl towered over the two that joined her, but despite her intimidating stature she held a kind smile on her round face. The boy of the three came up to the tall girl’s shoulders with dull red hair and a dorky grin that seemed too big for his skinny body. The last of the three seemed to be trying to hide behind her much larger companion. She was slightly shorter than the boy and seemed to be shaking in fear. The tallest was the first to talk “Hello I’m Cole Werle and these are my friends Charlie Hamalin and Elli Holat.” The girl Cole indicated to the two next to her. Charlie’s dorky grin seemed to somehow grow when his name was mentioned and he loosely waved to the new class. Elli slightly smiled and weakly waved to the class still trying to hide behind Cole.

“Alright with introductions out of the way you three can go and sit down in the back.” Aizawa didn’t even finish as Elli ran to the desk right next to the window snagging the spot before her friends could. She sat behind a young girl with long dark hair in a ponytail. Cole wasn’t far behind as she sat next to her friend behind a boy with white and red hair. Charlie was the last to sit down; taking the desk behind a boy with short black hair and luscious lips.

“Hey,” Cole started tapping the peppermint colored boy on the shoulder to gain his attention. “I know I just introduced myself but I’m Cole, what is your name?” She continued trying to make friends with the stoic boy. He gave a blank stare to her outstretched hand then slowly reached for it, shook once then turned back around without otherwise replying. Much to the disgruntlement of Cole who appeared very confused and slightly offended as she looked to the male next to her, hoping that maybe Charlie had the answer to this as Elli certainly wasn’t up to doing so at the moment with how nervous she was.

Charlie shrugged, not knowing what to do or why the other male had acted like that, seeing as Cole very infrequently was unable to gain some sort of reaction from the people she communicated with. Maybe there was still a bit of a language barrier, though Cole was pretty good with the whole spoken language part of the deal with this exchange. Charlie took another look at the male who had shaken Cole’s hand but not given her his name. He looked very much like he had a cork shoved in the opening of his emotions.
Elli watched the whole exchange and took a deep breath in and let it out. Gathering what courage she had left she lightly tapped on the shoulder of the girl in front of her. “Um… hi I know you already know my name but again I’m Elli and I was hoping to know your name if that’s not too much trouble?” Elli rambled on weakly not taking a breath, hoping the girl understood her. The girl’s eyes lit up and she cooed at Elli, finding Elli’s nervousness cute. “Oh you’re fine it’s nice to meet you I’m Momo Yaoyorozu,” Momo had a bright smile on her face as she held her hand out to Elli as the nervous wreck of a girl took her hand and shook it returning the bright smile with a small one of her own. Once Momo let go of Elli’s hand and turned back around Elli looked to Cole and Charlie who were giving her bright smiles and thumbs up. Elli lightly chuckled and her small smile grew.

Charlie was next to make an introduction so he lightly tapped on the shoulder of the guy in front of him, gaining his attention. “Hey I’m Charlie it’s nice to meet you,” Charlie whispered as he stuck his hand out. The boy was about to speak but was cut off by another student. “Hainlin stop interrupting class, you can talk to others when class is over!” A boy with short dark blue hair and square glasses yelled despite only being a few desks away from Charlie. In response a boy with spiky red hair said “Iida you’re the one making the scene and disrupting class,” at the red head’s retort Iida looked around and the class laughed. Iida, realizing his mistake, bowed and apologized to Aizawa and sat back down. The rest of the class went by just fine with no interruptions.

Aizawa finished the lesson early and curled up into a bright yellow sleeping bag and left the boy from earlier in charge. Iida walked to the front of the class and began to speak “Alright I’m sure we all want to get to know the new students, so why don’t you three come up here and we can ask you questions.” Iida stated Cole simply shrugged as Charlie stood up and walked to the front. Cole was about to follow after him until she noticed Elli had sunk into her seat; almost as if the girl had tried to become a part of it. Cole simply shook her head at her friend’s antics and lifted Elli up dragging her to the front of the class as the rest of the students watched, slightly confused at the two’s antics.

Cole stood Elli upright on her two feet and looked over the sea of students with a happy smile on her face. Then the first hand shot up; the three watched as it waved excitedly in the air. The hand belonged to a girl with pink hair and skin, her eyes were black with orange irises. “Hi there, why did you just drag Holeat across the floor Werle?” the girl asked, looking to Cole the pink girl looked like a curious child. Cole laughed and responded “Elli is really anxious so she tried to hide but you guys should get the chance to know her.” Another hand shot up and it belonged to the boy with fire truck hair. “Is she always this nervous or is it just cause you guys are in a new place?” he asked, looking at Elli, a sweet smile on his face almost as if trying to calm her down. This had the opposite effect and caused the anxious girl to hide behind her bigger friend. “Kind of, she doesn’t do well in front of large groups of people but once she gets to know you guys she will be a wild child.” Cole laughed remembering all of the weird conversations the two had had in the past. A boy with green hair was the next to ask a question “So what are your guys' quirks?” Charlie was the first to respond this time “I give people hallucinations” Cole spoke up next. “My quirk is called cooking creation. I can create any kitchen utensil by knowing the shape and material.” Cole looked to Elli and nudged her but was interrupted before she could speak. “How the hell is a wooden spoon gonna help you be a hero” a boy with spiky blond hair was the culprit and he started to laugh thinking he was clever for the outburst, but before anyone could even blink Cole had slammed a giant cleaver onto his desk causing the cocky arrogant kid to fall back and out of his seat. The class laughed and among the noise everyone could hear Cole state “That is how you Pomeranian,” a giant smirk on her face as she walked back to the front of the class.

Cole stood next to Elli and gave a reassuring smile and put her hand on Elli’s shoulder. The shorter girl breathed in and out trying to calm herself down before she spoke. “Um… My quirk is the ability to manipulate people's emotions by singing,” Elli spoke to the ground. “Could you say that again I didn’t hear you, Holeat” Iida yelled to the nervous girl and she tried to swallow the lump in her throat. Elli sighed and spoke again “I can change how someone feels by singing,” Elli stated much louder, taking everyone by surprise. “Also, could you guys say your names when you ask your questions? You may know us but we don’t know you yet,” Elli said, growing more quiet as she spoke, losing her confidence.

“What she means to say is that it is much easier to call each other by name rather than your features for example, hey blondie!” Cole called out, making the rude boy from before growl out “What?” And a boy with a black lightning streak in his hair goes “Huh?” Then one other boy with a very large belt responds with a “Oui?” The last to respond being a boy with a long kangaroo-like tail saying “Yes?” Cole nods having proved her point. “So as you ask us about ourselves it would be very helpful to all three of us in the future.

“My apologies miss!” the blue haired male started, “My name is Iida Tenya, please call me Iida or refer to me as class president.” Iida continued with a few hand movements. Another hand rose shyly behind the blond Pomeranian that interrupted. “Yes you there.” Charlie pointed to the curly haired young man. “My name is Midoriya Izuku, and I would like to ask how you were able to move so quickly to Kachan’s desk, was it an extra part of your quirk like Rush’s or is it from training?” Midoriya began to mutter about Cole’s speed. “Well to answer you quickly that was and wasn’t training, it’s from something I did as a kid a lot that trained my speed unknowingly. Ok, next question.”

Cole nudged Elli to pick a hand to answer. Elli quickly surveyed the class then pointed to the boy in the seat before Charlie’s. “Satou Rikidou, I have two questions, how do you induce hallucinations, and since your quirk is cooking creation does that mean you like to cook frequently?” Charlie shrugged and boredly stated “I’m not entirely sure it's just something I think of and it happens to appear to the person or persons I targeted within ten feet.” he then looked to Cole for her reply. “Oh I absolutely love to cook if there is a kitchen that will allow me to cook there I will jump at the chance, in fact my mom both loved and hated how much I cooked because whenever we tried to go on a diet I would end up making a bunch of our favorite foods because I had a craving for it or i just wanted to be creative and make something. So yes I do like to cook.” Cole declared passionately.

Before another question could be asked the front door flew open and a zealous blond entered the room. “HEY THERE! It’s time for English but I hear we have some new listeners in the crowd today!” The blond walked over to the three that stood at the front of the room and they started to introduce themselves. When it got to Elli she was an even worse of a mess than before, but had an excited glint in her eyes. “U-um h-hi I’m Elli H-holet I r-really like your r-radio s-show by the way!” The young girl couldn’t contain her excitement as she met one of her current favorite celebrities. She didn’t follow him for his hero work; it was his radio show that she adored. Despite her friends being a part of the hero fandom with her they mainly followed American heroes, but Elli had followed heroes from all around the world Present Mic being one of the many foreign ones. “It’s always fun to meet a fan, but why don’t you three go and take your seats so we can start the lesson!” The new students walked back to their seats and the lesson started.
