Work Text:
Mualani’s blue and orange-red eyes currently glare daggers at two women who have approached her lovely boyfriend, Kinich. Obviously, they can’t see it, but she hopes that the action sends shivers down their spines. “I don’t get it. Back in college, no one wanted to give him a chance, but now that he’s out of college, suddenly people wanna talk to him??” Mualani complains with a pout.
“You might wanna calm down, bro. Keep up that glare and your face might stay that way.” Ifa suggests as he enunciates the ‘might’, but when Mualani switches her gaze to glare at him instead, he holds his hands up in surrender. The two were currently sitting in a coffee shop while Kinich was waiting to pick up their orders. And unfortunately, two girls decided to take their shot at talking to the Huitzlan man.
“It makes no sense at all. Is it ‘cuz Ajaw is with him today?” Mualani cups her chin as she thinks, a pensive frown on her face.
“Uh… honestly? I don’t think those chicks actually care about Ajaw himself. But maybe it makes him stand out and look cool, y’know?” Ifa adds helpfully.
Mualani levels him with an unimpressed look, but she fixes her gaze back on Kinich. Ajaw is currently perched on his shoulder, but otherwise looks generally disinterested in what’s going on, not unlike his owner. She can tell Kinich is really not enjoying the conversation, his very brief opening and closing of his mouth an indicator of short-worded responses, but it still makes her upset that these girls are so shamelessly flirting with him.
“I think I needa go over there and show them what’s up.” Mualani huffs, pressing her hands on the table as she stands up.
Ifa’s eyes widen as he watches her rise. “Whoa, let’s not cause a scene in the cafe, Mualani. I can go over and get him if it’s really that bad.”
Mualani laughs a bit, shaking her head. “I’m not gonna fight them, Ifa! I’m just gonna show them he’s already taken~.” Before Ifa can remark any further, she starts walking over to Kinich.
“You sure I can’t have your phone number~?” Mualani can hear one of the girls ask him.
“I’ve said I’m not interested.” Kinich says exasperatedly.
“C’mon, she won’t know. And what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her.” The other one says.
“Listen, I-” Kinich starts, but before he can, Mualani arrives and sidles up to him, clinging to his arm.
“Nichiii! What’s taking so long!” Mualani pouts, nuzzling her face into his cheek.
“Ah, Lani…” Kinich gently pats her head, sighing. “There was a mishap with one of the machines, so I’m guessing that’s the hold up.”
The two girls look between Kinich and Mualani, suddenly feeling awkward. The latter grins sardonically. “Hmm? Sorry, did I interrupt something~?”
“Oh, uh, well-” One of the girls begins to speak, but Mualani pulls Kinich into a kiss, gently nipping his bottom lip and drawing a gasp out of him.
Her adversaries flush and stutter, but they’re not able to form anything coherent, opting to just leave wordlessly. Mualani pulls back out with a very smug (and proud) look on her face, while Kinich’s cheeks are tinged red with a dazed look. Ajaw had climbed onto the boy’s head and watched the girls leave while that had occurred, as if to say “That’s right! No one shall make the Almighty Dragonlord uncomfortable with such distasteful flirting with his servant!”.
“Lani… we’re in public.” Kinich remarks, taking her hand and squeezing it.
“I know…” She drawls, pecking his cheek. “But those girls were so annoying! No one wanted to give you a chance back in college, but now suddenly they’re taking an interest in you? It’s not right.” Mualani pouts, looking down at the ground with a soft blush.
Kinich smirks, leaning down to capture her expression. “Someone seems to be jealous. I like it.”
Mualani sputters, suddenly embarrassed, but Kinich gives her a quick hug. “Don’t worry about it. I appreciate you sticking up for me… in an unconventional way, I’ll say.”
Kinich hears his name called, and sees a tray with their drinks and some snacks on it. He momentarily leaves Mualani’s side to go pick up their order, before the couple heads back to the table and reconvenes with Ifa.
“Took them long enough! Good to see you both made it out unscathed.” Ifa remarks jokingly.
Ajaw slinks onto the table and sits by the window, basking in the sun’s rays. “Lani scared them off with such a primal display of affection.” Kinich responds sarcastically as he distributes their orders. The girl hugs his side with a happy giggle.
Ifa can’t help but grin and laugh, shaking his head. “You guys sure are something. Bro, I couldn’t imagine doing that in a cafe.” He takes a sip of his coffee, sighing in satisfaction as it hits just right.
“I couldn’t either. Until it happened.” Kinich remarked with a deadpan look at his girlfriend.
“Hehe. Well, that doesn’t matter now~. I just wanted to show them who loves Kinich the most!” Mualani takes a bite out of her croissant with a happy squeal, the buttery sensation being most palatable.
“Alright alright, lovebirds.” Ifa smiles at Mualani’s joy, but turns to Kinich with an inquisitive look. “You called me out today for something. Did ya need something bro?”
“Right. For starters, I told you Mualani and I moved in together recently, yes?” Ifa nods in response, taking another sip.
“We’ve been looking into getting another pet.” Ajaw’s head flicks over the moment Kinich finishes his sentence, and he can imagine the lizard screaming indignantly: “The Almighty Dragonlord does not need new friends, or any friends!”
Ifa hums, setting down his drink. “I mean, that sounds like a neat idea, bro. Just make sure your pet won’t eat your ‘dragonlord’, alright?”
Mualani giggles, petting Ajaw’s head with her finger. “Aw, we wouldn’t let anything happen to the little guy over here~.”
“Gah! Kinich! I, K’uhul Ajaw, am not some ‘little guy’! Tell that depraved woman of yours to refer to me as ‘The Almighty Dragonlord, K’uhul Ajaw!’”
“I’m going to ignore that second part you just said. As the lizard you are right now, you are a ‘little guy’ by the very definition.” Kinich says, much to Ifa’s confusion.
“Uh, you talkin’ to your lizard, bro? I mean I respect it, it’s just… just, y’know, Ajaw can’t talk back.”
Mualani laughs, sitting back in her seat. “The more you spend time with Ajaw, the more you understand him! I think even I’m starting to understand what Kinich hears from Ajaw. I think he’s scared I’m going to take Kinich away from him.” She strokes Ajaw’s head as if to comfort him due to the fact.
Sighing and shaking his head, Kinich returns his gaze to Ifa. “Anyhow, we thought maybe having a dog or a cat might have been a good idea, but we’re not sure if that might be a threat to Ajaw’s life.”
“Well, just so you know, if the advice I give is contrary to what actually happens, I’m not liable ‘cuz I’m a vet, and not an ecologist.
But in all seriousness, I think it really depends on the breed and their personality, right? I don’t think it’s a bad idea, but if you’re getting a big dog, or a very murderous cat, that’s dangerous y’know?”
Mualani whines as if dejected, pulling Ajaw into a cuddle. “But I’d feel bad whenever Ajaw’s alone at home by himself!”
“Kinich!! HELP! This ocean-loving girl is suffocating me!”
The boy promptly ignores the ‘imaginary’ plea and hums in thought. “Naturally, I suppose. Mualani was looking at a golden retriever, so that’s probably off the table then?”
“Yeah, those might be a ‘lil too big for your little dude.”
“Got it. Well, we thought maybe a saurian might be a better option because of that.” Kinich finishes, leaning back and crossing his arms.
“Oh! It’s a good thing I specialize in saurians, bro. Got an idea of which one?”
Mualani gently sets Ajaw down on the table before she positively bounces. “Oh! I thought a little yumkasaur would be sooo cute! A koholasaur would be awesome, but it’s not like we have a pool or a lake at home…”
Kinich nods in affirmation. “I think it would also be easier for Ajaw to acclimate with a saurian than a canine or such, considering they’re both lizards.”
“An overgrown reptilian scale-bag!”
“Well, I think it’s an awesome idea, bro!” Ifa’s bright smile is almost infectious, causing Kinich to break into a slight grin. “Well, I think a yumkasaur would be a great idea. You got a ‘lil yard, right? Make sure there’s a nice amount of space and trees for it, yeah?”
Kinich nods, making mental notes in his head. “I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.”
Mualani squeals with glee, hugging onto Kinich’s arm. “This is gonna be so fun!”
“Greaaat, just great! Now, I have to share the house with another runt?? Ugh, at least I, K’uhul Ajaw, will have another servant at my beck and call.”
“Play nice, Ajaw. I will be sending you to timeout otherwise.” Kinich warns with a slight narrow of his eyes.
“It’s okay, Ajaw! We’ll make sure to find a yumkasaur that’s nice and friendly to you, too!”
Ifa looks between the two, positively confused. “You two are on some kinda different wavelength, it’s almost a ‘lil freaky.”
Mualani laughs, and Kinich closes his eyes with a sigh. “The more time you spend with Ajaw, the easier he is to understand. Anyway, let’s meet again tomorrow to head to a shelter?”
Ifa nods, flashing a thumbs up and a grin. “Sounds good, bro! We’ll get your little dude a new friend!”
Mualani flashes Kinich a bright smile, to which he reciprocates with a small grin in turn, while Ajaw withers and sits on the table, positively dreading the day that comes.
~~
“What’s up, you two?” Ifa greets Kinich and Mualani as they clamber into his jeep. Ororon is sitting next to him in the shotgun seat, who flashes the two a smile. “Hello, sir and ma’am.”
“Ororon!” Mualani exclaims excitedly, currently cradling Ajaw in her arms. Kinich follows suit and sits down next to her. “Good to see you, Ororon.” Once everyone’s inside, the car hums back to life as the gang sets out on the journey to the shelter.
“Ifa told me we were getting you both a new kid, so I wanted to congratulate you both.” Ororon flashes a thumbs up, causing Mualani to laugh, while Kinich stares deadpan at the driver.
“Uh, wording, bro. I said I was going to help them get a new pet, not a kid.”
“Huh? But having a pet is like having a kid, right? It’s like how you and I take care of Cacucu like he’s our kid.” Ororon explains matter-of-factly.
“Alright, first off, I’ve had Cacucu for the longest time, brother. He’s basically under my custody.”
“That hurts, Ifa. As bro’s, we should be sharing custody. Plus, Cacucu likes it when I’m around.” Ororon’s ears droop on his head as he recounts such.
“Unless we sign some papers, I don’t know if that’s how it works, ya know. Plus, you enable him to bother me when I’m busy…” Ifa says exasperatedly.
“Ifa, you’re a single dad right now, and Ororon’s trying to marry so he can help you take care of Cacucu!” Mualani adds helpfully as she rubs Ajaw’s head with her finger.
“...wait, hold on, marry? Isn’t that a bit-”
“I agree with Lani here. You two have a very good… bromance. The tension in the air is palpable.” Kinich adds on with a slight smirk.
“See, Ifa? They see the chemistry. I trust the already-practically-married couple to see such things.” Ororon finishes with a triumphant smile.
Behind the wheel, Ifa is practically withering as he sighs in disbelief. “You guys… you guys are all hopeless.”
“If Mualani and Kinich are having a kid already, why can’t we, Ifa?” Ororon is practically sulking as he asks.
“I- okay, first off, those two are on a whole different wavelength. The fact they can tell what Ajaw is saying is supernaturally freaky, like Ajaw infected their brains or something.” Ajaw squirms in Mualani’s hold, as if protesting. “The Almighty Dragonlord is not some kind of disease-filled rodent!”
Mualani giggles, cooing as she scratches under the Dragonlord’s chin. It seems to help the lizard calm down. Kinich watches her, amused, but flicks his gaze back to the two bro’s. “The longer you live with Ajaw, the more you’ll understand. I’ve said it before.”
“Right, and I don’t know if I want to, to be honest with you both.” Ifa arches a brow towards Kinich through his rearview mirror.
“Does Cacucu have the same properties? We literally hear what he’s saying!” Ororon’s eyes widened at his realization.
“Bro… Cacucu repeats what we say, and uses that to communicate with us…” Ifa drawls in an unimpressed tone. He would facepalm if it wouldn’t jeopardize the car.
“Hehe, we’re gonna infect you, Ororon! Now that you’re in the car with us, you’re all Ajaw’s!” Mualani says with mock deviousness, raising the Almighty Dragonlord towards Ororon.
“Eat this, scumbag!” Ajaw flails his limbs around.
“Please have mercy! I’ll feed you all the fresh fruit and vegetables I’ve grown this month!” Ororon begs, clapping his hands together as he does so.
Kinich watches the situation unfold, a small smile on his face. There was a point in time where he worried that Ajaw would scare off Mualani, or if Mualani wouldn’t be a big fan of having Ajaw around, but he’s pleasantly surprised that never was the case. As Ororon put it, both being Ajaw’s ‘parents’ in a way made him feel warm inside. A very unique family to be had for sure.
“Please do not have your ‘Almighty Dragonlord’ attack my bro in the car… especially not when I’m the one driving!” Mualani laughs as she leans back into her chair, returning Ajaw to her chest as she cradles him. She gently rests her head on Kinich’s shoulder, a satisfied smile on her face. He, in turn, rests his hand on her thigh with his own smile of contentment.
“Alright, we’re basically here, gang.” Ororon declares as he looks out the window.
After a few minutes, Ifa’s jeep pulls into a parking space, indicating the group’s arrival at one of Natlan’s local shelters. Ifa steps out of the car, slamming his door shut and twirling his keys around his finger. “Alright, you two. Go in and look around for that dream ‘kid’ of yours, yeah?” He remarks with a slight smirk.
Ororon cycles around the jeep to join Ifa’s side, crossing over to join Ifa’s side, while the couple sidle up next to each other. “We might as well pick someone up while we’re here.” Ororon says, putting his hands on his hips.
“Oh no you don’t, brother. Cacucu is already enough for me.” Ifa rolls his eyes as he turns to head inside.
Kinich watches the two head inside while bickering, glancing over at Mualani with a gentle grin. “Shall we?”
The girl laughs in turn, letting Ajaw rest on her head as she takes his hand with a firm squeeze. “Let’s go!” She drags him along, entering the shelter and making an immediate turn to go look around. The other two lads, meanwhile, are standing by the dogs, arguing over whether Cacucu needs a brother, or a sister.
Mualani gently releases Kinich’s hand as she bounces over to look at the bunnies in the shelter. Crouching down, she notices one with a soft white and sandy gray pattern, cooing as she watches it. “Omaigosh! This one looks just like Kachina!”
Kinich slowly walks over, crossing his arms as he observes it. “I can see it. Has that very soft vibe.” The lizard on her head juts their head away, as if they were saying “hmph”. Mualani stays around the enclosure for a while, admiring all the bunnies, while Kinich follows slightly behind her, a soft, adoring smile perpetually etched onto his face. Her amusement never ceases to amuse him, one of those things that he finds most endearing about her.
They eventually make it to a different part of the shelter, where a bunch of cats are housed. The two step into one of the playrooms, Ajaw clinging onto Mualani’s hair tighter as if worried it might become cat chow. The exuberantly bright woman kneels down to pet a black cat with striking eyes. Though it flinches at first, it slowly leans into her touch, purring slightly.
The stoic boy instead opts to watch, merely observing the curious cats that approach him and rub their heads against his leg, as if they were trying to lull him into feeling the need to adopt the furballs. “Doesn’t this one look like you? Its eyes are just as piercing as yours!” She says teasingly, picking the little one up and showing it to him.
Kinich rolls his eyes at her remark, though there’s no sense of annoyance behind it. “The eyes are only one thing about me. I wouldn’t say that much is an accurate telling.”
“Well, I think a cat is super accurate. Initially standoffish and angsty, then when we got close, you got all close and cuddly.” She sticks her tongue out with a wink.
“Tsk. I am not a cat.” He says, but the slight quirk of his lips betray his feelings. “If I’m a cat, then you’re just like a dog. So clingy and yappy.” His hand lifts up to mimic a person talking as he says it.
Mualani gasps indignantly, pouting as she clutches the kitty closer. “So mean, just like a cat!”
Kinich lets out a soft chuckle, moving over to embrace her. “And yet… you’re also loyal and caring. So, not all bad, right?”
Mualani giggles, returning his hug with an arm. The cat meows as it’s squished between the two, prompting them to unlock. The girl lets the cat back onto the ground, where it saunters away. “Not all bad, huh? You saying me yapping and being clingy is bad?” She gives him a soft look as she pokes her fingers together. Ajaw is radiating with absolute disgust.
Kinich scoffs, smirking slightly as he squishes her cheeks. “See? Puppy-dog eyes. Of course it’s not bad, Lani.”
“Uwaaah…” Mualani leans into his touch as he plays with her face, a dopey look forming as she closes her eyes.
“Bros!” Ifa enters the playroom, stopping suddenly as he sees the two being lovey-dovey. His sudden entrance causes the two to flinch and recoil, both looking at the vet with wide eyes.
“Uh, sorry ‘bout that.” He clears his throat awkwardly. “I, uh, found the yumkasaurs.” He turns, then motions them to follow.
Approaching the room with the yumkasaurs, there are a lot of young ones, with very few adults, if any at all. Ororon is already inside, talking with one of them, though the little one he’s conversing with just stares at him with a tilt of their head.
Ifa steps inside, allowing the couple to enter. Ajaw seemingly relaxes on Mualani’s head, as if not as threatened by the saurians. However, his relaxation is cut short as Mualani picks him up and cradles him once more. “Alright, Ajaw, let’s find you your new brother!” The girl goes around with Ajaw to socialize with the yumkasaurs, who squeak with curiosity as she approaches them. Ajaw seems to stiffen as some approach him to sniff, but relaxes as nothing else occurs.
Kinich smiles softly, a look that Ifa notices that prompts a knowing smirk to form. “Bro… seeing you so madly in love, I’m starting to wonder if you’re the same Kinich I met before.”
Kinich scoffs, a subtle pink on his cheeks as he averts his gaze. “...It’s hard not to smile so much when she’s around. She has an infectious attitude.”
Ifa laughs, clapping his hand on Kinich’s shoulder. “Wasn’t tryna say it was a bad thing, bro. I respect it a lot. Just still getting used to seeing it.”
Kinich glances over slightly, a slight smile on his face. He crosses his arms and sighs gently, closing his eyes. “Well, I didn’t have a whole lot to really care about before. It was just me and Ajaw, after all.”
“Mhm. Whenever you came by to my clinic, you rarely, if ever, made conversation. Was just for whatever Ajaw needed, then you left. I thought something was weird when one day, you came in looking a bit brighter.” Ifa looks towards Mualani with a smile. “Then when I saw you leave with her that day, I knew something was up.”
“She certainly has a way of getting into people’s hearts. Whether they know it or not, whether they’re prepared for it or not.”
“I’m glad you were able to find someone like her, and open up.” Ifa gives Kinich a reassuring smile, holding out his fist. Kinich bumps it with his own, a smile forming on his face.
“I appreciate it. And likewise, I’m glad to see you out of the clinic more and with your own guy. Or bro, for that matter.” Kinich’s eyes flicker between Ifa and Ororon, causing the former to choke in embarrassment.
“Alright, first off, it’s nothing official. We’re just good friends.”
“That’s what they all say.” Kinich rolls his eyes. “Take him out on a date, and see if ‘we’re just good friends’ still holds up.” Kinich says almost sassily, a brow lifted as he finishes.
Before Ifa can retort, Mualani’s voice echoes through the room. “Nichi! Come over here and talk with the kids!”
Kinich snorts, smirking at Ifa. “Good luck with your bromance.” Quickly turning before Ifa can interject once again, he rushes over to Mualani’s side.
“I- agh…” Ifa begins, then sighs as he facepalms, shaking his head. “Ifa, my bro! I think this one likes me. I think he’s gonna be the one we keep.” Ororon calls over excitedly. The yumkasaur tilts its head, chirping as if it’s saying “what?”
“Wha- Hold on! We did not talk about this!” Ifa marches over quickly to settle the matter.
When Kinich makes his way over, the young yumkasaurs crowding Mualani turn to face him, some chirping in curiosity as they approach him, and a few others shying away. She laughs as she watches the more timid ones step back, but she approaches Kinich with a soft smile, embracing him. His hands slide down to her waist as she spins around in his hold, her back leaning against his chest. “Any of them you have a good feeling about?”
Kinich hums, resting his chin on her head. “I should be the one asking you that. You’ve been talking with them more than I have.”
“Hmm… this one here.” She glances down to look at a yumkasaur with a pink bow attached to its right ear that stays close to the couple, its adorably green eyes looking up at the two. “It’s the only one who actually really interacted with Ajaw. Other than sniffing him, I mean.”
Kinich grabs Ajaw and sets him down next to the yumkasaur, as if using the lizard to test the waters. The young one squeaks at Ajaw, who in turn flicks its head around as if to communicate. The Almighty Dragonlord turns its head back to Kinich with a haughty nod of its head, signaling some kind of approval. “The Almighty Dragonlord approves of this peasant to be its servant.”
“Ajaw seems to approve of this one.” He kisses Mualani’s head, gently releasing her and crouching down to be closer to level with the young saurian. Gently, Kinich strokes its head, gauging its comfort around him. The sense of satisfaction is akin to a purr, the saurian leaning in towards his touch.
Mualani smiles brightly, scooping Ajaw back up as she pulls out her phone to record Kinich tending to it. “I’m assuming you agree with Ajaw, huh?”
“This one is the only one out of its current pack willing to stick around us… and I have a good feeling about it. Besides, since we were looking for a friend for Ajaw anyway, and he approves…” The saurian chirps as Kinich’s hand retracts, bouncing forward and bumping its head into his knee. “...I think it’s safe to say this one wants to come home with us.”
Picking up the little saurian like a puppy, it doesn’t protest, instead looking around with wonder as it ascends to new heights. When Kinich turns to face Mualani, the flash of her phone indicates she has taken a picture for the record. He scoffs and trudges over with an unimpressed look.
Mualani shrugs with a less than guilty smirk, allowing Ajaw to rest on his new friend’s head. “I think it’s really attractive to see my man be so gentle with animals~.” Red tints his face, further blooming as she plants a kiss on his cheek.
“Whoa! Guess you found Ajaw’s new brother… or sister, I should say.” Ororon approaches with multiple young yumkasaurs in his hold, each squeaking with curiosity as they look between him and the couple.
Ifa follows behind him with an exasperated look, but he brightens up a bit as he sees the two reptiles in Kinich’s arms. “Well well well! Guess you found the one, huh?”
Kinich nods. “Let’s get her registered then.” Mualani squeals with excitement, practically bouncing.
Ifa laughs, flashing a thumbs up. “Sounds good, bro!” His gaze flicks over to Ororon, now donning an unimpressed look. “And for you bro, drop them. We are not taking all of them home.”
“Aw… sorry little ones, papa Ifa can’t afford anymore children.” He lets the little saurians down to the floor, and they skip away.
“You-! Ugh…” Ifa facepalms, shaking his head. “Alright, let’s get you two settled. I’ll deal with Ororon back in the car…”
~~
A small trip to the pet store after getting the yumkasaur’s papers settled has Kinich exhausted, but Mualani is otherwise still as exuberant as ever. They’ve dubbed Ajaw’s new friend ‘Kailani’, Kinich’s suggestion, with some encouragement from Ororon.
“I think you both chose the perfect saurian.” Ororon says as he drops off some of the saurian kibble inside the home. Ifa follows suit as he sets down the carrier, wiping his hands.
“Oh? How so?” Mualani kneels down as Kailani skips over with happy chirps, Ajaw riding on her back. Kinich watches with a proud smile as their newfound child leans into Mualani’s hands as the girl caresses them.
“Kailani has Kinich’s eyes, and Mualani’s friendly personality. She really is your child.” Ororon explains with a very proud smile. Ifa faces Ororon with a look of disbelief. “I can see the personality bit, but the eyes? Bro, Kinich’s eyes are like bullets with how sharp they are. The kid’s eyes are marshmallows in comparison.”
On cue, the Huitzlan boy faces the two men with a pointed look. “That reminds me. You two are helping with getting a place set up for her for all of today.”
“Oh man, Kailani’s papa is mad…” Ororon sighs. “We really blew it, Ifa…”
“Wha- we??” Ifa asks incredulously. “You’re dragging me into these conversations!”
“It can’t be helped, Ifa. We’ve gotta pay up.” Ororon takes Ifa’s hand with a sigh of disappointment, following behind Kinich as the boy carries some boxes of saurian care supplies.
Mualani watches Kinich reprimand their friends, laughing good-naturedly. She gently kisses Kailani’s forehead, then Ajaw’s. “Don’t worry~. Kinich will make sure you’re comfortable at home.”
She scoops them up with a determined and bright smile. “C’mon! I’m gonna give you a tour while daddy’s workin’!” She winks at Kinich as she begins her tour, causing the boy to blush slightly, this being something Ifa sees and hears, facing the shorter boy with a smirk.
“Any word, and I’ll make sure you and Ororon spend time together in the closet.” Expecting a comment, Kinich retorts and glares at Ifa, effectively shutting him up.
“Oh! That sounds more fun than manual labor!” Ororon perks up, though he tilts his head. “But, what would we do there?”
“WHOA man, that’s wild, Kinich! Let’s just… finish getting set up, yeah?” Ifa grabs Ororon and drags him away to help set up Kailani’s living quarters, a drawled out, sad “Nooooo…” being emitted from Ororon.
A small smile dawns on Kinich’s face as the two begin arguing again. Truly, as each day passes, he feels like he’s found, and made, a family with Mualani, and the friends they’ve met along the way. Picking up some supplies himself, he makes his way over to assist the two bro’s.
