Chapter 1: Meet Me in Camp Tipiskaw

Chapter Text

The camera zooms on the location in the woods, a bus stop next to a dirt path, above the entrance of the path stands a large sign that presents the words “CAMP TIPISKAW”

And below the sign and in front of the cameras, two men in orange shirts named Derek and Trevor proudly introduce themselves.

“Welcome to Disventure Camp!” The first man in the orange shirt and dark brown hair, Trevor, proudly exclaimed with a smile and his arm stretched out.

“The place where anything can happen. Whether it's good, bad, or ugly.” The other man in the orange shirt with black hair, named Derek, said with a devious grin.

“Miles away from civilization, surrounded by an unexplored forest.” Trevor announced.

“Dont get too relaxed though, this won't be a walk in the park. We are talking about a forest with wild animals, torrential rains, and extreme heat waves. Let's hope our contestants are prepared for the worst, because that’s exactly what awaits them here.” As Derek explained this, the cameras montages different scenarios, from a wolf on a cliff howling, to a rainfall, then to a moose passed out on the ground next to some fish flopping around.

"Admittedly it's not paradise... but don't worry, our competitors are in good hands. I'm Trevor McGregor, and this is my hosting partner, Derek Johnson.” Trevor says, putting a hand on Derek's shoulder, with that latter looking unimpressed, before giving a smirk again.

“We will do our best to make sure that all of our competitors have the worst experience possible!” Derek announces with his grin. Trevor then raises his eyebrows before clearing his throat.

“What Derek is TRYING to say is… On this show, nothing will be easy! Each week our campers will have to overcome challenges and eliminations, where they face the judgement of their teammates.”

“And the best hasn't even happened yet!” Derek says enthusiastically.

“So if you’re ready to see fourteen strangers duke it out for one million dollars…” Trevor began.

“Or you just enjoy seeing others suffer…. Don't miss…” Derek followed up.

“Disventure Camp!” Both hosts announced loudly.

(Introduction)

The opening sequence begins at the entrance of Camp Tipiskaw, where the camera zooms in on Jensen inside the Bus of Losers. Followed by Trevor and Derek under the camp entrance sign, posing together.

Afterwards, we are shown the campsites of the Purple Team and Teal Team, as Nick is seen trying to start a fire with Lill assisting him. This is followed by Tom sneaking around and observing his surroundings and on the other side Dan searching in some bushes for the immunity totem, little did they know Drew was watching and writing down notes in his notebook.

At the lake, Dan is rowing the canoe for both him and Fiore as they struggle to paddle across. On the shores, Ashley and Gabby sit next to each other as they feed a rabbit. While Ellie sits next to Nick, drawing something to show him as he smiles and nods in approval.

Following that, we see Will atop a cliff looking scared as Ashley comforts him. Afterwards shows the members of the Purple Team and Teal Team walking to the elimination area, where Alec and Grett smirk and lean into each other, before Miriam pushes the two of them away from each other. The sequence closes as the camera zooms out and Trevor has an arm wrapped around Derek. While this happens, Jensen carries a mysterious garbage bag covered in some red spots.

The bus was shown moving along the road, carrying fourteen campers of various ages and looks chatting among each other.

Some of which includes an excited young woman with a purple sweater chatting with the lady with ginger hair.

A young man curiously talking with another man in darker clothing covering most of his body, asking about his choice of clothing before he covers it up as being shy about showing his face to other people.

And a little girl talking with a teenage boy wearing an orange sweater. By talking though, said girl was talking vocally while the teenager had written down some responses on a notepad.

As these conversations were going on, the bus came to a stop in front of the camp.

“We're here! Everyone off!” The older bus driver said loudly.

“And they've arrived! Please welcome… Ashley, Lill, Nick, Will, Alec, Gabby, and Ellie. You guys will be the Purple Team.” Trevor announces as they step off the bus and are given a Purple Flag.

__________

Confessional: Lill

“I'm Lill! National Girl Scout Troop Leader. I'm going to win that million dollars to help my girls. I'll do whatever it takes.” Lill says as she proudly salutes.

___________

Next up… Dan, Drew, Tom, Jake, Grett, Miriam, and Fiore. You all will be the Teal Team.”

Derek says as the remaining members step off the bus and are given a Teal Flag.

__________

Confessional: Grett

“You’re looking at the future winner of this season. Names Gretchen Clark. I know how to play with the minds of the people and get the support I want."

________

Confessional: Dan

“Alright, if I'm gonna be frank, I may have some stiff competition here. And by that, I'm regarding the Purple Team, since they seem like they have some strong players. I may have to see if I can either cut them down or get some on my side.”

___________

“Welcome people! Are you ready for a once in a lifetime adventure?” Trevor says eagerly. Derek rolls his eyes.

“Love the enthusiasm as always Trevor, but lets be real here.” Derek says as he steps forward and grins. “They're gonna need a lot more than enthusiasm if they wanna survive for long.”

Trevor steps in front of Derek in response and waves innocently.

“Oh don't listen to Derek. He's just in a bad mood cause he forgot his coffee this morning.” Trevor says giggling. “ This place is amazing and I'm confident everyone here will have an unforgettable experience.”

“Sweet! I call top bunk” Will said with enthusiasm.

“Hopefully we get a cabin near the lake!” Gabby says excitedly.

“Well if you guys read your fine print, you'd know there are no cabins. In fact, all there is is a vast forest.”

“What the who now?” Miriam asks, irritated.

“Well where exactly are we gonna sleep?” Jake asked, annoyed as well.

“Why didn't you tell us this before we showed up?” Grett asks angrily.

“Its not all bad though, you'll have a tent, a machete, and a pot to help you survive.” Trevor says informing them, and hoping to calm them down.

“And you will have opportunities to win extra supplies by winning challenges.” Derek said as well, before passing Tom and Lill a map. “Here's a map for each team, which will guide you to your campsites where you'll find your tent. Now go!”

“Not exactly my idea of a vacation.” Nick whispers to Ellie as they all start to walk off, Ellie snorts in response.

“Tell me about it.”

Confessional: Ellie

“So far, this place is pretty shitty. But…I will say Nick is making it more enjoyable. He's actually pretty nice. I'm glad he's on my team.”

TEAL TEAM

“How much further?” Miriam said, groaning.

“About a kilometer or so and we should be there.” Tom says before noticing Fiore lagging behind, due to her smaller legs and stature. “Hey uh, can someone carry Fiore?”

“I can walk by myself thank you.” Fiore whines out, slightly annoyed. Jake raises an eyebrow before asking.

“Well, don't kids like piggyback rides? And besides, would you rather be worn out by the time we get to camp?” Jake responds, Fiore stares back for a moment before responding.

“Whatever”

Jake then proceeds to put her on his back, carrying her along. As she then talks with Drew.

“Taking grasp of the team all of the sudden?” Grett asks with a bit of sass in her voice before Tom turns back to her.

“Unless you're a survival expert all of the sudden….” Tom responds, Grett rolls her eyes and just follows along.

Confessional: Grett

“Well it's clear to me that Mystery Man here is gonna take charge here. Which could be a good and bad thing depending how our bloody team's play goes. Still, I should probably rally up an alliance of my own….”

Confessional: Fiore

“Why are these adults picking me up? I can walk just fine!”

PURPLE TEAM

Meanwhile, the Purple Team was nearing their way to the campsite as well.

“I can't wait to meet all sorts of animals! This'll be so fun….” Gabby said with enthusiasm.

“Heh, I reckon you love animals huh? I get that, I have a whole farm of them myself.” Ashley says with amusement.

Gabby's eyes light up with some eagerness.

“Oh, I'd love to hear more,” Gabby says.

Ashley continues and those two talk. Nick groans as he struggles to carry his luggage.

“Ugh! Bloody things gonna wear my arms out.” Nick groans. “Oi! Anyone wanna carry this for me? I'll pay a lot.”

“I got it man. No charge.” Will says in a friendly tone, taking Nick's bag.

“Much appreciated lad.” Nick says.

Gabby talked with Ashley a bit more before she turned to Nick and looked at his jacket, before she gasped in shock.

“Is that jacket… cashmere!?” She said in horror.

“Yeah, I know the maker if you want one too.” Nick says casually, not noticing her concern.

“So many cats died to make those!” Gabby said, her horror growing.

Nick shrugged in response.

“Relax luv, it's not your cat that died.” Nick responded.

Gabby glared and got up to his face and pointed a finger at him.

“Oh really. Maybe I shouldn't care for your life. Or maybe I should shave all your hair off and wear it around my neck.” She says menacingly getting closer.

Nick's eyes widen as he smacks her hand away.

“Are you threatening me? I'll have you sued for that you maniac!” Nick yells both angry and unnerved by this woman threatening him out of the blue before Ashley gets between them.

“Enough you two!” Ashley yells out glaring at the both of them. “Let's just get to the campsite in one piece please.”

Gabby frowns and Nick huffs out in annoyance as they follow suit with the rest of the walk going in silence.

Ashley Confessional:

“Look, I understand Gabby's anger, some of my animals back at home are almost like family to me. But you don't just threaten strangers like that. That's not a good look right there!”

Alec Confessional:

“Well, well, with heat already rising, I may just be able to keep myself under the radar for a moment. Though I may need to take this opportunity to pick a side and vote for one of them, though who to pick…” Alec says with amusement, while tapping his chin.

TEAL CAMPSITE

Teal team sets up their camp as Tom tries to work on building a fire, struggling with the sticks as Jake, Miriam, and Dan go searching for food. While Fiore, Drew, and Grett stayed back to help Tom.

“Ugh, just a little more and…” Tom says as he barely gets some smoke, which quickly fizzles out, which he groans in annoyance. “If only I had some steel or a nail file or something”

“Like this?” Grett says as she pulls out her own nail file. Tom gladly accepts it. “Just don't break it, it’s one of the only ones I got on me.”

As that was said, Tom was able to create a fire much easier. Grett decided to make some conversation.

“So little one, what brings someone like you here?” Grett asks, still surprised a little kid was allowed on the show.

“Well, my mom and dad needed some money and put me on this show so they could get some.” Fiore said with some sadness in her voice, leaving Tom and Drew very shocked, and Grett looking rather disgusted.

_________________________________________________________________________

Confessional: Grett

“That poor child! What kind of parent would do such a thing and send them out into the wilderness for money!?”

Her eyes burned with a bit of fury, but a shred of empathy.

“Her mum and dad should be lucky that they aren't here or I'd … ugh…. For now I should focus on keeping an eye on her. Could be a good ally to have too.”

_______________________________________________

Grett clears her throat before putting a hand on Fiore's shoulder.

“Well you won't have to worry about those snobs for now. You're safe here.”

Said child's eyes brighten with gratitude.

“Thanks miss.”

“So, what about you?” She turns to Tom and Drew. “What brings you lot on?”

Drew jots some stuff in a notepad before showing.

“Wanting to make some friends.” Drew wrote before flipping the page. “And inspiration for a book I'm writing.”

“Me? Uh, just watched some survival shows and wanted to try them out, test my skills and such.” Tom said a bit awkwardly. Grett chuckles.

“Really? You sound pretty unsure for someone who says they're the survival expert.” Fiore and Drew chuckle along as Tom rolls his eyes.

FOREST

Meanwhile, Jake, Dan and Miriam are gathering some fruit and berries in the forest. With a bit of an awkward silence between the three, where Jake tries to break that silence.

“So, what are you two out here for?” Jake says to his two teammates, hoping to get to know them. Dan turns to him with a small smile.

“I wanted a chance to make a name for myself on this show. Money could help for college too.” Dan says. “What about you?”

“Just wanted to get away from home for a bit, maybe meet some new people.” Jake says quickly, and with some awkwardness. Before he smiles and turns to Miriam. “What about you, err… Miriam was it?”

“Money.” Miriam says, snapping before turning back and grabbing some more food.

“Fair enough.” Jake says. “Well, do you have anyone rooting for you at home…”

Miriam then cuts him off.

“Listen sonny, I'm not here to make friends. Just to compete. Capiche?” Miriam says to Jake with irritation.

Jake frowns in response.

“But… I…I… okay.” Jake says with his mood dampened.

Dan's eyes narrowed a bit.

“Rude…” He mumbled before returning back to gather food.

PURPLE CAMP

Purple team starts to build their campsite and Lill with Alec's help puts together a campfire.

As Gabby and Will chat among themselves, Lill asks for some help from Ashley, Ellie, and Nick to gather food and water. As they do so, Lill strikes up a conversation.

“So, I wanted to propose something for the four of us.” Lill says getting the attention of her three teammates. “I believe the four of us, with my knowledge, Ashley's strength, Ellie's smarts, and Nicks… er… resourcefulness can do well in the game together.”

“Sounds like a plan to me!” Ellie said smiling. Nick and Ashley nod in agreement.

“Sounds like a darn good plan to me” Ashley says in agreement.

“Yeah, though if these game shows are like the other ones. They usually pick someone off each episode” Nick says. “May wanna see who we should get off here. My votes towards Ms. Crazy in Red.”

“Not a bad idea, she has proven to be rather aggressive.” Lill says thinking on that.

Ashley's eyes widened in surprise before responding.

“Hold on! Why not vote for Will, or Alec even, he seems like he'd be too smart to keep around for later.” Ashley says, feeling a bit bad for Gabby, for some unsure reason.

“Cause Will is at least more pleasant to talk to and won't threaten my life.” Nick says, crossing his arms.

“Well… that and Alec can help us for now at least.” Lill says apologetically. “I'm sorry Ashley, but we need to make hard decisions like this if we want the Alliance to work.”

Ashley looks down a bit conflicted.

She finally said, "But Will has been so nervous about everything since we got here. Won't that be a bigger liability than Gabby's temper?"

Lill paused and thought for a second before she nodded.

"You raise a fair concern, Ashley. Nick, Ellie, would you two be okay with voting for Will?"

Ellie nodded as she leaned slightly against Nick, his hand resting on her shoulder casually.

He said, "Works for me as long as Gabby is next."

VOTING SITE

The campers are gathered around before Trevor and Derek.

“Welcome to the voting site.” Trevor says. “This is where you all will be at one point or another spending some time to vote out another camper. Should your team lose the challenge.”

“And what better way to display this, than to have a voting ceremony right now.” Derek says smugly as the other campers eyes widened in shock. “That's right! Both teams will be voting out one of their own teammates. So get to voting!”

Nick gives an annoyed look as he writes down a vote.

Alec gives a bit of a confident look as he writes down his vote.

“This should shake things up nicely.”

____________

Ashley looks a bit conflicted before writing hers down.

“I'm sorry”

_____________

Jake looks a bit unsure as he writes down his vote.

“Nothing personal, but I can't think of any better options.”

______________

Tom looks unsure as well as he writes his down.

“Sorry about this, I don't want to, but this seems to be the best option.”

_____________

The campers gathered around again as Trevor read the votes out.

“For the Purple Team we got one for Will! Nick! Alec! Another one for Will! One for Ellie! With that, that's three for Will, one for Alec, one for Ellie, and one for Nick.”

Will looks nervous, Nick rolls his eyes not surprised he got a vote, and Alec looks slightly nervous.

“The one voted off the Purple team is… Will!”

“I’m not surprised,” Will said with a sad look, his shoulders drooping. Lill gently patted his arm with a kind smile.

“I'm sorry, Will. I had to think of the best for the team.”

He nodded and smiled at her before gently patting her back.

“Don't worry, Lill. I understand.”

PURPLE TEAM

Lill, Nick, Ashley, Alec: Will

Gabby: Nick

Ellie: Alec

Will: Ellie

Derek reads out the Teal Team votes.

“And for the Teal Team, we got Miriam! Fiore! Miriam! Fiore! Fiore! Miriam! That's three for Miriam and three for Fiore. The first person off the Teal Team is…..”

Miriam looks irritated while Fiore looks nervous.

“Miriam! It's time for you to go!”

“Well, looks like you made the wrong decision. Now who's going to be cooking for you ungrateful brats?”

TEAL TEAM

Fiore, Grett, Drew, Tom: Miriam

Jake, Miriam, Dan: Fiore

Lill hugged Will gently and smiled at the big man, his hand resting gently on her back.

“I promise you, Will, I only wanted the best for our team.”

He smiled down at the short woman and hugged her back.

“As I said, Lill, don't worry about it. I don't blame you for wanting to do what you think is best.”

He patted her head gently before he stood away from the others, off the mat. He noticed Tom staring at him with slight interest in his eyes and he couldn't help but blush slightly out of nervousness.

___________

Confessional: Alec

“Voting for Will was the logical decision. He was too big of a liability to keep on this team with his fears… In terms of potential allies, I think Nick and Ellie would be the most beneficial for me. And if I play my cards right, I could potentially score Ashley as an ally too.”

_____________

Trevor held his hands up with a wide smile and looked at Derek as Oliver pulled the bin of paintball guns over.

“Anyways, I hope you work well with your new teammates because today is paintball and capture the flag combined! You must have three people defending your flag and four people trying to capture the other team's flag. The first team to get their team's flag to me and Derek will get their team a special prize that will make life here at camp a little easier. Especially for the ones that make it to merge. Anyone who gets hit with a paintball won't be out, but they may earn their team a disadvantage.”

Derek looked at Trevor with confusion before a look of understanding appeared on his face and he grinned widely as he nodded.

He then said, “You guys will get five minutes to plan out how you want to do this but then the challenge starts if you're ready or not, so get going!

Confessional: Derek

“Trevor was just messing with the campers. There's no disadvantage for any team members who get hit.”

TEAL TEAM

As the Teal team's attackers made their way to Purple's territory, Grett had stayed back with Drew and Fiore. Grett seemed to survey her area around her, before looking back at her two teammates. Drew seemed a bit awkward holding the paintball gun. And Fiore sitting on a chair with the Purple flag, doing some tampering or something. Hell if she knew.

__

Confessional: Grett

“I suppose now’s as good a time as any to put my plan into action.”

__

Grett clears her throat to get the two kids' attention as they turn to her in curiosity.

“Alright you two, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, it’s clear we're the outcasts of the team. Tom probably sees you two as expendable or weak links. And he's not playing with a full deck himself, so we need someone better to guide them.”

“Who were you thinking?” Fiore said, genuine sounding, but almost sounded like she held back a snicker.

Grett crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

“I mean me of course!” Grett says. “With my expertise, and your support, and the help of a fourth fool… I mean player, I’d say the three of us could handle this game pretty well.”

Fiore and Drew exchanged a curious look, before Fiore nodded.

“Sounds good to me, miss.” Fiore says with wide eyes and a smile.

Drew raises a brow in curiosity before he writes down something in response.

“I would like that. It’s nice to have more friends to work with :)” Drew responds on his notepad with a smile.

Grett smirks in satisfaction and continues on preparing and Fiore seems to be doing a bit more tweaking to the flag.

Before they knew it, they heard the fire of paintballs and they took cover, before Grett fired back, hitting Nick and Ellie. Lill takes a few shots back, hitting Grett and Drew. With the fire of paintballs and the distraction of both sides, the Teal Flag seemed exposed for Ashley to grab the flag and rush off.

Grett notices and rushes off before getting knocked back by a few more paintballs. Though she didn’t notice Fiore holding what seemed to be a copy of the flag…

As Ashley was rushing off, she noticed Tom from the Teal team running alongside her with the purple flag in hand. The two seemed to glare at one another before they ran even faster. As they both made it to the hosts in near similar time and shouted…

“HERE!”

Trevor and Derek both look at the flags for a few moments before Derek announces.

“And the winner of today's challenge is… the Teal Team!” Tom grins under his mask as Ashley's eyes widen in shock.

“But how!?” The cowgirl asks in bafflement, her and Tom at least had to have tied.

“Well if you took a closer look at the flag there, maybe you’d notice it's not the real one.”

Derek chuckled at the revelation there.

“Teal Team, enjoy your new sleeping bags! Purple Team, better luck next time.”

The Teal Team gathered around and congratulated the three defenders.

“Great thinking there with that fake flag.” Will said with a smile.

Drew wrote down in his notebook as well.

“That was really clever Fiore :D.” Drew wrote.

Fiore shifted a bit before responding.

“Actually, it was Grett’s idea there.” Fiore said innocently and giving the credit to Grett, said lady raised a brow in confusion, but wouldn’t turn down the free credit. As she smirks and responds.

“What can I say, I’m full of surprises.” She says proudly as she holds a hand out.

TEAL CAMP

The Teal team was gathered around their campfire, Tom and Will chatting while Grett braided and unbraided Fiore's hair. The little girl giggled happily before moving to cuddle into Drew's side, the teen boy immediately holding her closer to him and nuzzling her hair. She yawned softly and hugged him as she fell asleep. Grett cooed softly and stroked Fiore's hair before realizing Drew had nuzzled into her and fallen asleep too. She smiled softly at the kids and rubbed their heads.

Tom looked over and smiled under his mask before he said, “If you want, I can move Fiore to her sleeping bag.”

When Grett nodded, he went to pick Fiore up but was bitten by the sleeping little girl. He immediately hissed in pain and Grett had to look away so she didn't burst into laughter. Dan choked back a laugh while Will winced and patted his new friend's arm when he sat back down.

Tom smiled softly at Will before he stood up. Will immediately started to stand up too but Tom waved his hand.

“I just need to be alone right now and cool off so I'm going to take a walk. I'll hang out with you when I get back though, Will.”

His new friend looked saddened but nodded. Tom patted his shoulder before he walked off into the forest. Grett raised her eyebrow slightly but shrugged and picked Fiore up before picking Drew up too and heading into the tent.

_______________

Confessional: Grett

She had let her hair out of the ponytail and was playing with it, smiling softly. Her green eyes sparkled softly as she looked at the camera.

“This team is quite amusing. With Fiore and Drew's innocence and cuteness, Tom's odd behavior, Will's fearfulness, the bond between those two, and then whatever is up with Dan and Jake, I think I could make it to the finale easily. Although I don't know much about the other team. That's the only real issue.”

PURPLE CAMP

Lill, Gabby, and Ashley sit by the campfire in their nightwear, relaxing for the evening as they casually chat. Gabby eagerly telling a story to the other two, much to their amusement. Before they notice Miriam makes her way through the camp.

“Howdy Miriam!” Ashley says with a friendly smile. Gabby and Lill smile as well, as the latter says.

“We saved you a spot if you’d like to join us.”

“Keep your seat! I’m taking a nap, and don't bother me!” Miriam says with irritation.

“Hey now. We just wanted to offer to talk with you, that’s all.” Ashley says biting back with a bit of attitude.

“I said shut it! Don’t ya bother me, or else.” Miriam bites back, going into the team's tent without another word.

“That was rude.” Gabby says with a hurt look. “What’s her problem, aren’t old people supposed to be really sweet and such?”

“I’m sure it’s just been a long day for her. Losing the challenge probably didn’t help things either.” Lill says, trying to ease the two younger women. As they try to talk again.

_______________

Confessional: Lill

“I’ve had my share of troubled or hurt kids in my troop I had to take care of. And it seems something more seems to be bothering Miriam. I’m no therapist, but would like to help however I can for her.”

______________

PURPLE TEAM

On the other side of the Purple Teams camp, Ellie draws a bit in her sketchbook to keep herself relaxed. Not that she didn’t want to talk with the others, some of them were fun to converse with, like Gabby or Nick. However, she was feeling a bit drained after the challenge today and needed some time for herself. After seeing the paintball colors and some of the different outfits her teammates were wearing, it gave her a bit of inspiration for a new outfit idea. As she was drawing, she heard some footsteps as Nick made his way to her with a relaxed look.

“Whatcha doing all the way out here luv?” Nick said sitting next to her. Ellie was about to complain, but decided to focus back on her drawing.

“Nothing much, just keeping busy. What are you doing over here?” The ginger said, raising an eyebrow. Nick chuckled.

“Was enjoying the exchange over there, but granny is a real mood killer. Like, what the hell bit her end?” Nick said as Ellie chuckled a bit too.

“Beats me, maybe she put on her retainer wrong today.” Ellie replied as Nick snorted a bit in laughter, before he looked over at her sketchbook in interest and said.

“Heh, what's that there you got?” Nick said curious as Ellie looked a bit nervous.

“Uh, just some ideas is all, for clothes and such.” Ellie said as Nick seemed even more interested.

“Well, color me interested. I’d gladly buy one of those off you if ya got it made.” He said pointing to one of the outfit sketches she had doodled.

“Well, I'll keep that in mind.” Ellie said with a bit of amusement, a bit of flattery at someone's interest in her ideas. The two talked a bit more, enjoying the peaceful evening.

TEAL CAMPSITE

After everyone else had gone to bed, Will was waiting for Tom to come back and Jake, noticing the way that Will was shaking and kept looking around nervously and how tense the bigger man was, decided to stay up with him. He thought for a minute before he sat next to Will, his gold rings glinting in the fire as it made his tan skin almost glow.

“Hey man, are you okay? You're shaking a lot and you look really scared.”

Will looked down at the Wasian man and rubbed his hands together nervously before he sighed and admitted, “I am really scared. To tell you the truth, despite my size and muscles, basically everything scares me. I've never gone camping and I'm a city kid. If you could even call the area where I lived part of the city.”

Jake immediately hugged him, confusing Will, who looked down at him with a surprised look. Jake realized he'd hugged him and immediately pulled off with an awkward look.

“Sorry. My grandma would always hug me to comfort me when I was scared and I thought it might help…”

Will surprised him by smiling and giving him a one armed hug.

“That actually did help. I'm gonna go find Tom… and hopefully not get lost in the forest. See ya man.”

Jake waved with a smile before he sighed and tugged on his gray gloves with a slightly saddened look.

“I shouldn’t be so scared of something like the dark. But, it’s just like back at home and as a kid, when it got dark, there'd be a bunch of yelling and fighting… and… ugh. I wish I could be brave, like how Tom was in that paintball challenge.”

He smiles a bit.

“That dude seems pretty cool. Maybe I should figure out what makes him look so confident. Though he did leave camp earlier, that means I’d have to go find him… out there… alone…”

Will shakily makes his way through the woods and follows where he saw Tom head off to, making his way, hopefully not too much further. Though he tried to tell himself to be cool and brave like the others, like Tom, like Ashley, like the others.

Before he knew it, he saw said man crouched by the lake, doing who knows what. Almost swore he heard a mumbling. Regardless, Will feels a slight sense of relief at not being alone, he makes his way to the man.

“Hey Tom!” Will starts before Tom turns around quickly holding one hand out in a self defense position and the other hand behind his back.

“AH!!!” Tom yells out as Will stumbles back a bit falling back into the sand of the beach. Tom looks unnerved and almost apologetic.

“Crap! Sorry man, but you shouldn’t startle people like that. And I’m busy too.” Tom said, helping Will up.

“Sorry, but I just wanted to uh… say you were pretty cool at that challenge today.” Will said a bit awkwardly with a chuckle. Tom looked a bit taken aback.

“Oh, uh thanks! It was nothing though. Just trying to help get this team to victory and all that.” The spy responded with a bit of flattery, and a bit of dismissiveness.

“Heh. I wish it was that easy for me.” Tom raised an eyebrow at the gentle giant's response, before he responded back.

“Huh? What do you mean?”

“Oh, uh, nothing. Just wanted to say thanks again.” Will said before making his way back to camp in a hurry. Tom raised a brow before he went back to talk on his radio.

Derek and Trevor make their way to the camera as Trevor announces. “That's one episode down, and fourteen contestants left to go! Who will be our first eliminated one? Find out this next time, on Disventure Camp!”
