Work Text:
Ori is a particularly agile spirit, his ability to dodge and weave through deadly areas and enemies is not something that is a challenge to him. Ori however, much like anyone can have streaks of bad luck. His wounds on his arms and chest were quite visible, including a nasty gash on his cheek. He limped over to a nearby wall, taking a breath on the rocky exterior.
The spirit made a promise, something he never wanted to break, and well, he succeeded, but the path to and from was far more dangerous, enemies more aggressive than usual. He shook his head, he’d deal with himself later, for now he needed to get back to Dartmouth and see what Sly needed before he’d rest.
The tip taps of footsteps out Ori on alert, quickly getting back into action before he saw who was approaching him.
Ghost.
His stance and expression softened at the sight of the vessel, meanwhile the vessel just looked at him up and down.
“Hi Ghost! Don’t worry, I’m alright, just had a rough moment.” Ori spoke calmly, voice trying to hide the pain he was in.
It clearly did not work, Ghost got up to him, looking at the gashes and injuries he sustained. He needed to teach him some new techniques later…
The vessel pointed to a sign for a hot spring, thankfully one was nearby. Ori smiled and held his paw out.
“I’m ok, really Ghost.” He gently responded.
Ghost stared at him and reached out to grab his arm, making sure it was the uninjuried one. Then began to drag him. Ori stumbled over his steps before regaining his footing.
Ghost looked back at him, before looking down to see he was holding Ori’s hand. He quickly looked away to make sure he wasn’t gaining any more thoughts from when he was starting to feel.
Ori on the other hand remained close by, tilting his head slightly as Ghost pulled him to the room where the springs were, nice and warm.
Ghost stopped and turned to Ori. The minute Ori was about to speak, he bought him right into the water gently, he didn’t want Ori to refuse the help, he didn’t want Ori to be hurt.
Ori sighed as he let Ghost pull him in, the air light, the water refreshing his glowing body. His ears droop from the refreshing flowing springs as he felt his wounds clean and seal up from the waters.
“Sorry, thank you Ghost.”
Ghost tried to stay still, but even he couldn’t resist the feelings the water gave him. He slowly laid his head against Ori’s shoulder, as the spirit warmly held the vessel up against him.
Ori remarked by how cruel Hollownest was, yet Ghost’s warmth was something he truly appreciated despite everything he and the vessel have gone through.
It felt nice to be a little selfish and pampered for again.
