Chapter Text
A Rebel is, a Rebel
“We’re all insurgents now.”
That statement having most certainly stuck to the rest of the Bad Batch.
The once stated truth coming from Tech early on when the team had started there long exile from the Empire, their new life in so many ways as well. Their different path.
Lots certainly having happened since that time.
The family having broken up, the good and the bad having been experienced during their time on the lamb to last a life time. New and different paths for each having been chosen for a while there as well. New friends having been made, some growing up done for each team member.
But right now, they were all together again. The family as it was, intact.
The past, the differences, the qualms, all of it having been put aside as from now on, it was only forward. Together again. The track ahead clear and decided by all of them, together.
“So, the Rebellion, huh?”
Wrecker, not having an problems with joining.
The Powerhouse already having met most of the people there on base through Rex. The clones, but other people too. Old friends like Hera. And Wrecker having become friends with a Lasat called Zeb. The two having much in common.
“Yeah, that’s the plan, Wrecks.” Hunter, the last on to be seduced to the Rebel side, now all aboard could see how enthusiastic Wrecker was about this.
Sure, Pabu had been nice and peaceful. Their new home and all.
But, as Omega and Echo had put it, there was still fight left in them and if Hunter was honest with himself, sometimes it had been too peaceful and quiet of a life on the island. Besides, the plan was to go back after some time of service for the Rebels. It wasn’t going to be a lifetime commitment as per agreed.
As none of them were getting any younger, but they wanted and needed to do this just the same. One last hurrah before retirement. Something to that nature.
“I for one am glad you are all joining me.”
Omega having already made her choice early on, having been prepped to leave by herself, was only too thrilled to have her family with her. Despite the danger, she preferred to have them there.
“I was sold on the word ‘Rebellion’.” Crosshair chuckled.
The Sniper having been inclined to agree with Omega since, well, since their time escaping the Empire from Tantiss together. It was surprising, but the two seemed to have a lot in common.
“We really have come a long way, haven’t we.”
Tech was feeling it, suddenly really feeling it. The emotional part hitting hard.
The new sense of being part of something glorious for a change. Well, they had helped Rex’s Cause a lot over the years, but this was them actually taking the next step. Joining in again. And it was out of their free will.
“Feeling nostalgic there Tech, eh?” Echo laughed, patting the man on his back gently. “I for one am glad we all are doing this, together.”
“Well, it was you and Omega convincing us, wasn’t it now.” Hunter reminded Echo.
“Guess, we were, pushing it a bit.” Echo laughed.
“It’s important and we are important. What we are going to continue doing, helps a lot of people, not just the clones.” Omega reminded them solemnly, the all grown up Kid really dedicated to this cause.
As it was, the clones were rescued, most of them living their best lives, while some having decided to help out, like Rex, Gregor, Cody and Wolffe. And now, the Bad Batch as well.
Guess, it was the logical thing to do? They had certainly gotten a second chance of life, so why not help others to achieve the same chance? To not be slaves of the Empire.
“You’re right Omega, it’s important. Not just for us and our kin, but all the people of the galaxy to get rid of the Empire.”
The newly improved Havoc Marauder waiting, packed and ready to go, as Clone Force 99 entered.
Them all eager to be taking off for one more big adventure before curtain call.
