Work Text:
“Take it off,” Eiji ordered immediately, unamused.
Adachi held up a gloved hand, very much amused. “Whoa, slow down there, pardner.” His voice lowered into a slow, husky drawl. “We just got here.”
“And you can just leave,” Eiji retorted, eyeing the cowboy outfit Adachi was wearing. He had not been prepared for him to walk through the front door like that, and Adachi took advantage of catching him off guard, his accent getting thicker.
“Listen ta this here cityslicker, tryin’ ta tell us what for do.”
Eiji cringed and turned to Ichiban in slight desperation, needing to be saved from whatever this was.
“Don't do this to me.” The please was unspoken.
At least Ichiban spoke normally, despite also wearing similar clothes. He seemed oblivious to Eiji's pain and suffering.
“We got you an outfit, too.” He nodded at Adachi because Eiji certainly wasn't going to give him any positive feedback. Adachi gave him a thumbs up, and Ichiban's attention swept back to Eiji, grinning. “If you want, then we can all match!”
Eiji did not.
It was a silly costume with silly accessories, and knowing the other two, they'd get too into it and cause him trouble while looking dumb. Eiji was clearly conveying those thoughts on his face, because Ichiban changed the subject quick.
“I've been practicing. Watch.”
He unholstered the two fake guns at either side of his thighs, and--impressively–began to twirl them both with his fingers in the trigger guard before snapping his hands solidly around the handles, his arms outstretched in front of him in a ready position.
Eiji didn’t say anything, because it was really hot that Ichiban could do that.
Adachi nudged him knowingly. “Come on,” he cajoled, tilting his hat down by the brim to highlight his smoldering gaze. “Admit it. We look good.”
“If you didn't open your mouth,” Eiji easily replied, and Adachi pushed back into the heavy accent and bright energy.
“We got ourselves a right ornery one, don't we?”
Eiji groaned in annoyance. “My point is proven.”
“I reckon I outta hogtie you for that,” Adachi began and probably would have continued, but he suddenly broke character, eyes lighting up like he was really thinking about what he just said.
“Oh. Wait.” He pressed his hand against the short length of rope coiled at his hip, Eiji’s eyes following the movement.
The idea of being tied up was both appealing and not. The both of them giving him attention, but the both of them running their mouths, especially with Adachi saying dumb things. But…The both of them with their leather and gloves and boots and tight pants…
Eiji shook his head. “No, that's stupid.”
Adachi gave an obnoxious, knowing chuckle. “Not what you said last time,” he said, and Ichiban broke into the conversation in confusion.
“Last time? When was that?”
It was when Adachi wanted to try some fancy rope tying, but it had been more complicated and more work than expected, and they gave up part way. It also took an annoyingly long time for Adachi to untie him, the knots too tight and too numerous, which someone refused to take fault for.
Eiji gave an unimpressed look to Adachi's smarmy one.
“Don't worry about it. You didn’t miss anything.” He rubbed it in further with a flippant, “Adachi-san couldn't even follow basic instructions.”
Adachi didn’t take kindly to the insult, his eyes narrowing. “Move, Kasuga. I'm gonna lasso this here varmint.”
