There is an all out brawl down the street from the Rusty Shoe. Clydesdale is parked out front so they had to move their beef down the road. The Din of the bar’s regular patrons rings as she finished her drink. The bartender reassures her that he’ll have a safe ride show up long before closing so “You don’t have to stay on my count, pal.” She nods her head and hands him his pay.
She is walking to the door when a scrawny voice calls out “Plain Jain!” this short man in scrappy clothes steps into the space between tables. “I decided I run this joint now.” he folded his arms, nose standing proudly in the air as he dismissed her.
“As far as I know, Paul wasn’t looking to sell the place. Who’s squeaking?” she turned a sharp eye over her shoulder
“Mousy Mike and the Rat Pack!” The runt raised his arms behind him, gesturing to two brutes, menacing from his side.
A stillness falls over the room. On the sound of a glass hitting the floor they spring for each other, but before the adversaries can meet in the middle a crash shakes the ground.
All momentum lost, the bar makes their way to the street.
A stillness fills the air as a steaming crater now stands where the best street in the area was once paved. A whirlwind blows by clearing the air and one can see the brawl down the road is breaking up to watch the scene unfold as well. A domed flying machine peers over the crater. Laughter can be heard, rising as the dome falls. A green monkey is seen holding a ray gun, under him in the ground lay beaten, The Powerpuff Girls.
“Hey! I know you!” a bystander from down the street speaks up and is quickly blasted by the monkey.
“It is I!!! Mojo Jojo! The power in my hands, which I wield, Is most powerful. And you Have fallen, quite easily, Because I, Mojo Jojo, Have obtained a Powerful Weapon. You, The Powerpuff Girls, lay helpless because I have destroyed your powers! The chemical X in your blood has been destroyed, Diluted by the -X Ray! Hahaha! I Mojo Jojo, took the wind out of your sails. You are little girls, not sails, and you have no wind! Because of me!” He cackled away as Blossom tried to crawl out of the hole. Buttercup still hasn’t stopped grunting and growling. "It Is useless to resist the power of the -X Ray! The -X Ray is so powerful that fighting against it is pointles-" a can is thrown at Mojo Jojo from a high up window.
"Some of us are trying to sleep!" cries a citizen of Townsville, before swiftly being zapped. Mojo Jojo blew the steam off the ray gun and continued laughing. He noticed the quiet of the street and looked at his watch.
"It is rather late." Mojo Jojo peters off, one last look at the girls. They are hardly able to move, let alone fight him. “I’ll start world domination in the morning, an Intelligent monkey like myself, Mojo Jojo, Needs his rest. I do. Me.” His grin widened “Goodnight Powerpuff Girls”
The girls remain in the rubble, hardly able to move and trembling in the cold as the remaining people on the street find their way back home. As bystanders pick through the messy street, Mousy Mike and The Rat Pack approach the girls.
A cold chill runs down Buttercup's spine. She wrestled her arm to raise, She wanted to punch these guys for looking at her like that.
She doesn't know what they want but she knows a bad guy when she sees em.
Bubbles whimpered, leaning against Buttercup.
Everything hurts.
This isn't fair, but she can't cry. not right now.
not when her sisters need her.
Her sisters need her.
Blossom slips down the crater, not having the strength to climb any higher.
She looks back at the men looming over her sisters; how they are struggling under the weight of their own skin.
She tries to fly, to Zoom over and snatch them up like always.
To keep them safe.
Her feet aren't moving.
Why
Why can't she move?
"I got some buddies in jail because of you broads.” Mike cracked his knuckles, “They got sentenced to life after you caught them. You're gonna pay!" The large man and his lackeys raised their fists when
Crack!
There is a thump as the man hits the ground, soon, the familiar din of a fight rings through the night.
Out of the dust cloud stumbles a new shadow.
Blossom managed to put herself between the fight and her sisters, flinching when the figure reached down.
Buttercup seemed to find her voice at this moment, shouting in a dry rasp for the loser to get away from her sisters.
The dust settles and the visage becomes clear.
A woman with a long face and round cheeks sits crouched beside them. Her hair is long on one side, falling straight down her left shoulder and ending in a cloud of dirty blonde curls. A closer look and her hair isn’t just pulled over her left shoulder, Her head is shaved clean on the right side. Her scars and outfit are intimidating but her eyes are kind as she holds a hand out to the girls.
"Let's get you home yeah? I'm sure someone is worried sick about you" She held out her hand for them. Buttercup and Blossom looked at each other skeptically.
It takes all she has to move to take her hand. Bubbles placed her whole weight on her shaky hand in the grasp of the stranger and let her weight fall into the newcomer's arms.
"Ope, Careful there little one." Bubbles was cradled easily in the woman's free hand, held snugly as she reached for the other two.
