Work Text:
I can barely breathe,
And so I try to remember-
It’s only September.
There’s days to save,
And future months to savor.
September’s my savior.
I know autumn goes by fall,
But it’s stayed with me through it all.
It lets me speak in distress,
It offers me a leaf when I’m a mess.
Making leaf bouquets,
And singing songs,
In a place where I belong.
But, I’m still super out of it,
Yet September remains adamant.
I wish nobody was born this month,
Because I love it that much.
I know I shouldn’t steal it away,
But a girl can only pray.
Autumn, you have my heart,
You were there from the start.
You are the secret part of me;
Living off of who I want to be.
Dearest, September,
I’ll love you, forever.
