Work Text:
Mornings were never really Quinn's thing, but he usually got up bright and early anyways to use that extra time doing whatever. He could make breakfast, go around town, or spend the time drawing something new.
Today wasn't that day, apparently.
“Joel, I need to get up.” The Toon mumbled from under the pile of metal, the only sign of his existence would be his arms sticking out from below. He had been shaking the other for quite a while, but he remained motionless. “It's close to 10 AM, I should be doing something.”
“You slept at 2 am.” Joel replied, unmoving. He remained impassive, slumped over the other. He was entangled, faces resting against a spot next to his head. “You should sleep for longer.”
He was warm, the soft whirr of his machinery a soothing noise in the ambience. Lifting himself just slightly, he moved to have an arm under and around Quinn's back. “Come here,”he said, exhaling as he felt him relax. “Just for a little while longer.”
“You're so clingy.” Quinn grumbled, though the way he brought himself closer said otherwise. He was getting groggy again, his voice growing weak. “I can't just fall asleep when it's so close to..”
“Shh.” Joel hushed him, stroking the back of his head. “It's a Saturday, kitty. You can rest.”
Rest he did. After some light protesting, the Toon was fast asleep, curled in his husband's arms.
And the other? He followed suit, despite having no need for rest at all.
