Post-Credits

Summary:

Jungkook just really wants to finish his movie.

Work Text:

Jungkook was really into the Iron Man movie marathon he was having. He’d seen the movies countless times, finding ways to fit them in even with their busy schedule by calling it “group bonding,” even though it usually ended up only being Jungkook himself and Hoseok watching them.

Hoseok had fallen asleep somewhere near the midpoint of the second movie. Now, the credits rolled for movie three, and Jungkook sat in anticipation for the post-credits scene. He’d always thought that fast-forwarding past the credits seemed to take away the enjoyment of the short scene. “Good things come to those who wait,” he’d explained.

So, there he was. After sitting through six hours (give or take) of films, he was finally at the end, staring expectantly at the screen for the clip he knew would start any second.

Just as the credits end, and the scene starts, the TV shuts off. Jungkook stares for a moment. Then, he whips his head to see who the perpetrator was. He sees orange hair and sleepy eyes staring back at him. The face of someone he thought had been his friend.

“Hey!” Jungkook yells. “What the hell, hyung?”

Jimin rubbed at his eyes. “It’s, like, three in the morning. Your stupid movies are keeping me awake.”

Jungkook debated on taking the pillow from behind Hoseok’s head, but decided against it. Instead, he just replied with, “There were three minutes left, at most.”

Jimin shrugged. “Then why are you so upset? Besides, you’ve seen these movies a million times. You’ve probably got the entire thing memorized, anyway.”

“But the post-credits scenes are always the best, hyung!” Jungkook whined.

“Fine, turn your stupid movie back on for, like, three minutes,” Jimin started, throwing the remote at Jungkook. He missed, instead hitting Hoseok, who just rolled over in his sleep.

“No. Now that you’ve ruined it, I’ll just have to rewatch the entire movie,” Jungkook smirked. He quickly added in, “And you’re going to watch it with me!”

Jimin stared. “Jungkook.”

“Yes, hyung?”

“There’s no way in hell I’m doing that. And neither are you.” Jungkook watches, amused, as Jimin strides over to where Jungkook sits. He begins to lift the younger boy, but realizes two things: trying to carry things while incredibly tired is hard, and Jungkook definitely isn’t as light as he thought he’d be. Jimin ends up awkwardly holding Jungkook, the latter silently laughing as he watches the frustration grow on the older boy’s face.

“What were you saying?” Jungkook asks, feigning innocence as he grabs the remote and restarts the movie.
