Chapter Text

Eunho stirred awake slowly, his body heavy and sore from the night before. The sheets were warm around him, carrying Yejun’s scent. He let out a small hiss when he tried to roll over—memories of the wedding night flashing in his mind.

Before he could even sit up properly, Yejun appeared from the doorway with a tray in his hands. “You’re awake,” Yejun said softly, a smile tugging at his lips. On the tray were a bowl of porridge, some side dishes, and a glass of warm water.

“Morning,” Eunho’s voice was still hoarse. He flushed a little when he realized why.

Yejun set the tray down and sat beside him, brushing Eunho’s hair back from his forehead. “Don’t move too much. I’ll feed you.”

Eunho tried to protest—he wasn’t used to being babied like this—but Yejun’s gentle expression melted away his resistance.

While Eunho ate slowly, Yejun kept checking in: “Too hot? Do you want more water? Does your back hurt?” Every time Eunho shifted, Yejun’s hand was there, rubbing his thigh or lower back carefully.

After breakfast, Yejun ran a warm bath. He guided Eunho into the water, steadying him when he winced at the soreness in his legs. “Relax,” Yejun whispered, kneeling by the tub. “You don’t have to do anything today. Just let me take care of you.”

Eunho leaned back against the edge, closing his eyes. The warmth soothed him, but it was Yejun’s hands massaging his shoulders that really made him sigh in relief.

Later, Yejun dressed Eunho in soft, loose clothes and tucked him back into bed with a blanket. “Rest,” he said, kissing his temple. “I’ll handle everything else today.”

Eunho smiled faintly, his heart swelling. He had always known Yejun to be kind and attentive, but experiencing this side of him as a husband made it feel different—more intimate, more permanent.

As he drifted back to sleep, Eunho thought, If every day is like this, being married won’t be so bad after all.

Eunho shifted under the blanket, reaching for his phone on the nightstand. Before his fingers could even touch it, Yejun’s hand intercepted, picking it up smoothly.

“What did I say?” Yejun’s voice was calm but firm. “You stay still. Tell me what you need, I’ll get it.”

“I can just—” Eunho started, but Yejun gave him a look that made his cheeks warm.

“No,” Yejun cut him off gently, setting the phone in Eunho’s hand. “You’re not lifting a finger today.”

When Eunho wanted water, Yejun brought the glass and held it to his lips.
When Eunho thought about getting up for the bathroom, Yejun helped him walk slowly, holding his arm the entire way.
When Eunho reached out for the blanket, Yejun tucked it around him before he could even ask.

“See?” Yejun smiled, pressing a kiss to Eunho’s temple. “You don’t have to move an inch. Just tell me, and I’ll do it.”

At first Eunho felt embarrassed being treated like he couldn’t do anything, but soon he realized Yejun wasn’t just pampering him—he was showing how much he cared. Every time Eunho tried to insist he could do it himself, Yejun would hush him with a soft, “Let me.”

Eventually, Eunho stopped arguing. He lay back, letting Yejun take care of everything, and for the first time in a long while, he allowed himself to be spoiled.

After dinner—where Yejun once again refused to let Eunho lift a single spoon from the sink—they ended up in the living room. The lights were dim, and Yejun had piled the couch with soft pillows and a thick blanket.

“Movie?” Yejun asked, holding the remote.
Eunho nodded, curling into the corner of the couch. His body still ached a little, but it was a pleasant reminder of their first night together.

As the opening credits rolled, Yejun pulled Eunho into his arms, tucking him against his chest. “Comfortable?”

Eunho mumbled, “Mmhm.” His head rested over Yejun’s heartbeat, the steady rhythm lulling him.

Throughout the movie, Yejun kept adjusting the blanket so Eunho wouldn’t get cold. Whenever Eunho shifted or winced, Yejun pressed a soft kiss against his hair and whispered, “Don’t move, I’ll fix it.” He’d reach over for the snack bowl, hold the cup of tea to Eunho’s lips, or even change the volume when Eunho squinted at the noise.

Eunho teased, “You’re treating me like I’m fragile glass.”
“You are,” Yejun murmured back, tightening his hold. “At least today. You’re mine to protect.”

The movie played on, but neither of them paid much attention. Eunho felt safe, cocooned in warmth and Yejun’s scent. Yejun rested his chin on Eunho’s head, one hand tracing lazy circles on his back.

By the time the credits rolled, Eunho was half-asleep in Yejun’s arms. Yejun smiled, kissed his forehead, and whispered, “Goodnight, my husband.”

Eunho’s lips curved faintly, even in sleep. Their first day as a married couple ended not with fireworks, but with something far better—quiet comfort, and the feeling of forever.
