There is something so incongruous about the photo that Tony can’t quite parse that it exists. It’s not just that Stephen is riding a skateboard. Tony wouldn’t have pegged him as a skateboarder, but whatever, people have depths. No, it’s that he’s riding the skateboard in full sorcerer robes and wearing the Cloak.
When he hears the whoosh of a portal opening, Tony twists on the couch and holds up his tablet with the photo displayed. “Why?” Tony asks, baffled. “The Cloak can fly.”
“Technically, the Cloak levitates,” Stephen says. He leans against the back of the couch and takes the tablet, chuckling at the picture. “I didn’t realize anyone was watching.”
“Levitate, fly, whatever,” Tony says. “That doesn’t answer the question.”
Stephen hands the tablet back to Tony. “The Cloak likes it.”
“The Cloak likes skateboarding?” Does not compute. But Stephen nods. Tony looks at the photo again, then back to Stephen. “But why skateboard when you can fly?”
“Why fly when you can walk?” Stephen asks, and shrugs. “Flying is all the Cloak knows. It finds other modes of motion interesting.”
Tony just shakes his head. “You’re breaking my brain here, doc.”
Stephen smirks. “An unexpected side benefit.”
