Keiji is busy with work, like, really busy. He couldn’t even catch a break from clients emailing him nor having non stop orders from his boss. (The man is so attached and committed to his job to the point that he’s sleep deprived, it’s concerning.) Which means, he doesn’t have much time for his boyfriend, Kenma. It upsets Keiji that he couldn’t get to spend time with his lover, due to the massive amount of job duties given to him.
In Kenma’s perspective, it’s alright for him, he’s fine with it. He understands that this job means so much to Keiji and there’s not much he can do but to support his boyfriend in pursuing his dreams. But whenever he sees his boyfriend stressed and lacking rest, he is utterly worried for him. It’s like he wants to remove the burden that he carries on his shoulders but he couldn’t do anything to do that. Kenma just wants Keiji to at least relax for a while, like a little break. A short pause from the overwhelming stress wouldn’t hurt.
For a month, Keiji is going to be having a health break. His boss already told him to take this opportunity to pause from work and take a breather, he deserves this after all the hard work the raven has done for the company. However, before Keiji could even slump into his office chair, several emails flew into his inbox. This man cannot simply take a break, not even just a short one. He deeply sighed and began dealing with the emails sent to him. He really thought it’s finally the start of a month focused on his health and himself, also a month for him and his lover. But I guess, maybe, these were just final urgent emails before he actually takes a rest, right? That’s what he’s hoping for.
Since the raven was working at home, Kenma was in the living room, just watching on the TV. He didn’t want to disturb his lover with whatever he was dealing with, so he stayed there without approaching him. Though, the blonde feels a little uneasy. He usually feels like this whenever Keiji hasn't given him his daily kisses. He wishes that Keiji would’ve at least prioritized his boyfriend first, like, having a cuddle session just for a few minutes before he works again instead of sitting and rotting on a chair answering an unimaginable amount of emails for hours. It’s not like he’s mad at him for not being with him most of the time, he gets that, but the thing he’s really bothered about is that Keiji never learned to take breaks. Not even once did he see his lover rest from the work he’s doing, he’s going overboard. It’s starting to worry him a lot.
Kenma was planning to convince the raven to catch a break for a while, but he was too shy to do so. (He also still isn't aware of Keiji's short break.) He really doesn’t want to barge into his office and interrupt while Keiji’s taking care of important stuff. It takes him a few minutes to build up his courage to go to his office. The blonde finally stands up for the couch he’s been laying down on for hours. He walks toward Keiji’s office and knocks gently. The lover immediately heard the sound of the door and stood up quickly.
“Can I come in?” He whispers softly but clear enough for Keiji to hear.
The raven didn’t blurt out a word, he lightly opened the door for his lover. Surprised, Kenma didn’t know he would actually answer him. I mean, why wouldn’t he? That’s his lover checking up on him. Silence occurs between the two guys, the blonde hesitating to speak up.
“Uh, are you still busy?” Kenma asks, fidgeting on the hem of his jacket,
“Not quite, I’m just answering a few more emails and I’ll be finished.”
“…Am I bothering you?” He asks again, still avoiding eye contact,
“No, not at all. You never bother me, kitty.” Keiji held the blonde’s hands as he caught him fidgeting.
The raven then cups his cheek with the other hand, making Kenma look at him eye to eye. Oh, how Keiji misses looking at those cute brown eyes of his and his entire alluring face. He blushes at the thought. Noticing the blonde’s messy hair and some hair strands in the middle of his face, he fixes his hair, combing it with his long, slim fingers.
“You know, even if you do bother me, it’s fine. I would really like it if you do.” Keiji says, tucking his hair behind his ear,
“…Mkay, noted.” Kenma nods,
“But even if I don’t have to disturb you from work, you should remember to take breaks, okay? I swear in my life, I have never, ever seen you do that. And I’m worried about you. I don’t want you to be sick or something worse, I just want you to prioritize your entire health. Remember, it doesn’t hurt a tiny bit if you just rested for a few minutes, you’ll still get the job done. Because it’s you, Ji, I know you can do it.” The blonde reaches out both of his hands to cup Keiji’s cheeks, which turn slightly warmer.
Keiji sighs and puts on a smile, he never expected Kenma to tell this to him. He is so happy to have a boyfriend like him, he really is. He plants a kiss on his forehead.
“Okay, I will, promise. I got that.” He chuckles,
“Though I’m telling you, if you don’t take a break, you won’t get kisses from me anymore.” Kenma replies, squishing Keiji’s cheeks tighter,
“Alright, alright. I undershtood, kitty.” The raven’s speech sounding pretty unclear due to his cheeks squished together,
They both giggle together. Keiji snickered because of Kenma’s sudden threat while the blonde chortled at what his boyfriend looks like right now. The blonde gives him a peck on his pouting lips, tiptoeing to reach his height.
"I love you baby." The blonde murmurs,
"I luv you too." Keiji replies,
"You knou you cud remove thuh pressure on muh cheeks right now." he adds,
"Oh, right. Forgot about that." Kenma giggles.
Now that Kenma has his hands on Keiji's shoulders and Keiji's hands on his waist, the raven leans in for a kiss. Kenma smiles during the kiss, absolutely full of joy receiving kisses from his boyfriend again. Though, the raven breaks a kiss for a while, wanting to say something.
"I still have a few more emails left but," Keiji huffs,
"...they could wait."
